I thinks its worth noting that if you want to be have of these mos in a certain unit you might need security clearance. (Example would be 11b in the 75th ranger regiment)
I’m going in as prior service navy and my secret security clearance is still active. I’m going in as a 12b, and I had my interview with the investigator. Told her I hold a clearance still. Have a credit card that’s 12k, told her my plan on paying it. Told her my minor misdemeanor I have and my waiver from the navy as well. Does 12b require a clearance? Like I stated I have a secret from the navy
Good afternoon Sir! I’m not sure you’ll see my message but I had a question. I was enlisted AD for a year but I’m back home now. Was really interested in becoming a pilot in the Army. I already passed the SIFT and was wondering if you guys had street to seat for national guard. I know the process for AD but not for NG
To my knowledge, in the Guard your best option would be a Warrant Officer. You’d need to join as like a 15 series job for a couple years first, then you could become a Warrant Officer/pilot. I’d recommend reaching out to a Recruiter because your background is very unique.
@@SFCBEITZ I was able to be discharged, it's a long story but I already almost enlisted in the national guard but I was in a police academy so I couldn't go swear in. I just wanted to see if I could possibly street to seat it for NG but if not I did plan to do 15U and then drop the packet once I'm in for a bit. Thank you!
Will having bad credit, and a student debt and unpaid credit cards all together aren't higher than 5,000 usd, it is something i can start paying off now, will it prevent me from getting security clearance I want to become 31a MP, thank you so much for putting in ur time in creating a video with such information Sgt
@@billybob2787 you’ll need a moral waiver to join in general and that may be difficult to get approved, especially if you have any other background blemishes…however, if you have a Recruiter who is experienced with waivers, they should know what to get and how to package it up to get you approved for enlistment. Then once you are in, maybe after several years, you could try to get a secret clearance.

If there wasn't any in that video that wasn't exactly what you were looking for, I still got good news for you lol when you enlist into the Army or Army National Guard, they will start your citizenship process. Once you get that citizenship, then you can eventually switch your MOS! Here is a couple videos I made about switching your MOS: Can I change my MOS? Will MEPS look at my teeth and dental records? In 2020, that was the last time I went to my dental place as It was shutdown and never went to a dentist since. I'm concerned that MEPS will deny my request to join.
Will MEPS look at pharmacy records? When I was in Middle School, I was prescribed some vitamins, nothing too serious but last year my doctor prescribed me some ibuprofen pills, 50 pills, and I never asked for a refill. Could something like that prevent me to join?
MEPS doesn't look up dental records. From everything you've mentioned above, I don't see anything that will disqualify you. You should be able to call your health care center and request your medical records be emailed to you! Do you have a specific injury from the past that you're concerned about? What was the Ibuprofen prescribed for?
@@SFCBEITZ first, thank you for responding back. 🙏 secondly, yes I currently have patellar tendinitis, also known as jumper's knee. Pretty much my patellar tendons on both knees are strained according to the orthopedic and I'm experiencing pain like it's burning. I'm actually going back to the orthopedic this week to discuss my options/solutions for my knees to heal. My Aunt has been telling me to see a chiropractor but I'm not sure if I should. I know if I told a recruiter about this, I could be told to wait until my doctor/otropedic can get it checked out.
No problem, that’s what I am here for fam! So, the concerns I have are: with the MHS Genesis system that MEPS uses, they’re going to be able to see that you’re seeing an orthopedic doctor. Secondly, if you’re experiencing that pain, it’s highly likely to get aggravated at BCT because you’re going to be on your feet so much and doing a lot of intense physical training…so it sounds like healing up is your best option, because then you’ll be able to get a note from said orthopedic clearing you for military service, once you’re feeling better. If you try and enlist and not mention this, and they end up finding it, it’ll make enlisting much tougher. Does that make sense?
@@SFCBEITZ yes, totally. I even told the orthopedic that I wanted to join the National Guard (since I'm out of High-School) and i asked if I could enlist. He told me, "yes you can absolutely join, just we need you to come back to check you up". Appreciated SFC Beitz!!
I’ve never heard of this before. Clearances are always taken care of prior to shipping because they don’t want to spend all this time and money to ship you just to find out you’re not even qualified. I reached out to my boy who’s an E8 First Sergeant in Recruiting and he’s never heard of this either. Are we missing something?
@@SFCBEITZ I was also told by my DOD investigator (or whatever agency contracted them), that sometimes these things take months. And i leave in 3 weeks. But this also doesn't make sense to me because they are going to teach me BCT and then not give me a clearance? Doesn't make sense to me but they said that's how it goes
Are you familiar with Team Swartz channel? He’s one of my boys and he told me he’s never heard of this. Then I have an E8 First Sergeant in charge of a Recruiting Company who’s one of my boys saying he’s never heard of this either. This must be something new…but it doesn’t make sense at all. So what happens if you’re 4 weeks into BCT and your clearance is denied? Then they just spent thousands and thousands of dollars doing your enlistment contract, getting you through MEPS, flying you to BCT, training you, feeding you, housing you, just to find out your not eligible and send you home? There’s something we are all missing because the military is smarter than that.
@@SFCBEITZ I watch you, Team Swartz, Matt ward, Ben Allen, FNG academy, any one i can glean a little army knowledge from. But from what little I've read it seems people suggest you get reclassed into a different MOS that doesn't require one like these on your list
@@CS-ww3bs I guess that makes sense…and I’m sure they do a FBI check on you because I could request an FBI check and have it back in an hour, but never more than a couple days…so when they send you, they know the chances of your final clearance approval are high.
@@messiahsquadfamily3302 so I just edited my response above because I misspoke. Everyone requires a general clearance now, which is lower than a secret clearance...so a green card holder will still be limited on MOS's until they become a permanent resident.

im gonna keep it a buck you may need to update your list 11 series need top secret clearances and so do 19 series. 91 series all require a secret clearance.
If 11 series need top secret, then all jobs will start requiring top secret…but with retention down so much, there’s absolutely no way the Army can maintain, because there’s just not enough people to fill the ranks with the ability to obtain top secret clearances
