I haven't heard or seen anything of Lada Sartakova in any of the Vaganova videos for some time - the last thing I think was her dancing Masha and a rehearsal video showing the "Mirlitons" dance...I know she and Maria Bulanova were previously at the same school (Kuramshin) together and then switched over to Vaganova within a few years of each other. But Bulanova has graduated I think two years ago, and I think Sartakova must be somewhere between 18 and 20 right now, so she ought to have graduated by now too. As if she had disappeard from one day to the next - anyone know what has happened to her? I can't say that school where the two were before that was at all good for them - Lada was put on pointe at six, or even well before that. And they were made to do things in ballet a time when it was far too early - things the children at Vaganova probably do around fifteen or so and some of these children were under ten! And then that nonsense about fouettees being the "gold standard" of ballet and teaching that to children as early as seven! I am truly afraid that this system was not at all good for the children who attended that school, and that Sartakova may have been one of the victims of it.
Lada Sartakova is still in Vaganova. She's in the graduating year (Class of 2021). Here's a photo from her Instagram, taken this school term, which shows that she's still a student there instagram.com/p/CGDOJSCge29/
@@aliceveronica3566 Thanks for the link - then I must have remembered her age wrongly, or perhaps she took a little longer to graduate? She actually looks very pretty - reminds me a little of that Russian model who played the leading role in Luc Besson's "Anna". But you hardly heard about her the same way you did about Zhiganshina and Bulanova, for instance, who also were at the Kuramshin school with her.
@@christianealshut1123 She is now dancing on the Primorsky stage of the Mariinsky theater. I guess she didn't get hired by the main Mariinsky stage or Bolshoi because they didn't like her body these days, but maybe she'll have a better career on the Primorsky stage. She's already gotten a solo role there - a cat in the Sleeping Beauty, there is a picture on her instagram. I think you might've remembered her age incorrectly as she didn't take longer to graduate. Also, 18 is a normal age to graduate from the VBA.
