This is the first time I see a plane being used in place of a gouge and I agree with you that it is more effective seeing your execution. Does your friend Tommy (?) ever consider to make more of that small palm plane for sale ? As a beginner and with a bit of poorer eye sights ( I am just three years younger than you ) and without prior wood working experience, handling a plane is less dangerous than a gouge or chisel. Would you mind to check with him ?

Dear Hao Tu, I asked him about it and he was positive. Contact me on messenger and I will give you his mail.

I see you march to the beat of your own drum! I like that. Always wondered about the wood being affected by those gougings. That plane is great. First time seeing that type.

I contacted Tommy but never heard anything back. I would absolutely love to get the measurements to possibly make an attempt at making one. Thanks for all the videos!!!

Hello. Finding your videos very informative. What is the make of plane you are using here please?

I invented the plane myself, but that was made in "pockholz" (the hardest wood there is).
However, a friend of mine made this one in brass. You can mail him at info@violin.se
      His name is Tommy BTW.

Where is it that you want to go 15 mm ? You are not clear on that?

do you have a video showing how to get to the beginning of this step?

Look into # 82. It describes how to get the arching height.

in video 19 you show how you trace the outline. do you have a form that holds the arc shape so it doesnt rock back and forth when you cut it on the band saw? this video shows it already cut out so im wondering the step between 19 and 20

@@mhgjewel No, I don´t have a form holding it. It does not matter if the edge is a bit rough or sqew. You will trim the edge later.
