Measurements: 1. We will need: + Macrame cord size 6mm + Wooden dowel 1.2 meter, D=5cm + Scissors + Rulers 2. Cut 02 ropes, each 7.5 meter long, attach them onto the dowel 3. Cut 30 ropes, each 6.5 meter long, then attach them onto the hanging rope using Lark Head knots 4. Continue with Square Knots 5. Repeat until finishing the body of the hammock, I did 29 rows 6. Cut 6 ropes, each 1.5 meter long 7. Attach onto the dowel and follow my instructions 8. Repeat this using 06 ropes (2.5 meter long); 08 ropes (3 meters long), 03 ropes (3.5 meters long) 9. Cut 02 ropes, each 5 meters & follow my instructions 10. Repeat the right side same as left side 11. Continue using the first two ropes to connect the body of the hammock using double half hitch 12. Trim the cords and finish the project
How would u translate meter into inches because is says different measures for the rope and don’t come out to the right size I’m wasting rope and money I need help
Hi there! I made my first chair - holds 50kg easy. Just an issue I had - the 1.5m to 3.5m ropes each side seems that they don’t balance out the seat? Or maybe I did it wrong. I’d rather make them 2m to 2.5m al the way to the bottom each side and just make the body longer? My swing is tipping forward because of the different lenghts of rope. What would really help is more detail of the sides of the chair. :-) Thank you for the only great video on this though!!
Thanks for a nice tutorial! I can recommend to tie up the macrame cords during the project, so you spin each cord up and hold it together with a hair band. Thereby you don't need to drag several meters of cord through during each knot :)
I extended all the cords. The length of the cords at the back (I had 32x of these) were maybe 10 to 12 metres each (to produce a back of 75 cm). The cord was a birthday present, so I don't know, what it costs. Good luck to all macrame-makers :)
What are the 3 3.5 cords supposed to do? They’re grouped with the other cords that are attaching the sides of the chair but if there’s three, that’s uneven and one side of the chair would have more cords...
Hi, Thank you for your time. I was wondering whether you could add a caption each time you change the length of rope you are currently working on. There are lengths and amounts of each but you do not show where they are going and if there are 8 ropes, are they split for either side meaning that there are 4 each etc etc etc....
I really loved watching this video. I am definitely making this. It was so useful. This is exactly what I was looking for and there were hardly any videos. I am glad I found this. Cheers to your work, the final output looks absolutely beautiful ♥️ keep up the great work!
My foster son is currently making this as a gift. We don't understand number 11 in the instructions .... what "first 2 ropes" are to be used to "connect the body..." ? Thank you for your help!!
Boa noite ! Ficou lindo .👏👏Vc pode me dizer quantos de largura e comprimento ficou? Gostaria de fazer pra mim . É olhando assim eu n tenho noção do tamanho. Agradeço.
Yes, i deeply appreciate your sharing this demonstration, however i notice your hands often blocked and one can't really see how some knots were tied ~ just a friendly feedback 🙏🏻 😊
Wonderful creativity... I was searching for something like this since long for my balcony. Want to try it but need some more information if you could please provide. 1. What's the total length of macrame required for this project ? 2. The size made with your measurements will be able to hold an adult person or not.. upto what weight ?? 3. Can I get one readymade piece.. how much will that cost ? Please reply .
Can an adult sit in this? Or a kid? I honestly can’t tell with what looks like a small pillow and a stuffed animal in it, it looks so tiny. I would love to know, I’d like to make this, really great video overall!
not sure but 70kg wooden rod no problem, gotta secure it well when you hang it too. can take more weight if you use metal chain to hang it on The ropes are very durable :)
I think as long as you get a sturdy dowel rod it should be. I’ve made 3 of them so far. I used. 2” thick x 4ft. dowel on each one and 6mm or 5mm cotton rope or cord.
I cant see whats happening at 13:46. especially difficult when the only directions at that point are "follow my instructions" does anyone know how to finish the alternating ringbolt hitching?
Debora Gasperi olá!! Usei fio de malha, estou terminando. Na receita ela informa bem no final 3 cordas de 3 metros e meio, na verdade são 30 cordas de metros e meio, elas são as que sustentam o assento. Abraços!!!
Has anyone successfully attempted this pattern? If so, are the side ropes meant to be a certain length once tied? I am very much a beginner so any advice is appreciated. Thanks :)
looks as if this youtuber has resigned, or whatever the term might be. i write that as there seems to be no replies to the comments, which is a shame as there are a lot of valid questions. too bad though as i too love the look of the chair and have asked a question earlier.

you're focusing on the wrong things. we don't need slow mo of you showing the starting position of the 30 ropes for a long time. we need how to tie the knots done slowly, not in half a second with your hands in the way
Unfortunately this tutorial is not accurate. I had to fiddle a lot towards the end just to get it into a chair position and I didn’t end up with anywhere near the knot rows she had.

what is a size of the rectangle?(sitting canvas)
That's equal to roughly 913 ft.....

Qual o comprimento da madeira( cabo que sustenta o balanço)?

that would depend on how fast you knot, so I cant give an exact answer but it took roughly 5 hours for us

@TN Art & Crafts is this suitable for adults as well? I mean can it hold a 100 kg adult? Thank you for sharing this amazing work!
the hammock itself is very strong because of the cotton ropes can hold 100kg, but you need to make sure the wooden rod can hold it too

Me too! It's dificult to know how long the strings need to be at which point... Very challenging!
I love this hamook, but I can barely saw all the knots, you stay in front of the camera almost every time you were going to do a knot.
Beautiful work but you should've angled the camera better your hands were in the way most of the time.
