It's shocking to see how little love Halo's music gets in the video game world. Too bad it doesn't have your cliche Japanese hentai art style and boring RPG music. Sign of a fantastic soundtrack that's beyond your typical TH-cam musician's abilities. But you know it's real when there's no guitars in this and I did all the piano and vocal stuff myself. Absolutely gorgeous cover! It's SO cool to hear live vocals in this! And the strings are really cool. Great piano playing too, having it be softer overall is a direction I wish more people took. Is the piano VST a felt piano?
Believe it or not, Michael Salvatori's original version of this from Myth: The Fallen Lords did have strings in it and was a completely different recording, but Marty wanted to do the piano himself so he redid the track for the Myth soundtrack CD, and that was the version that persisted into Halo for the Myth easter eggs.

Wow, thank you! I rarely such a thoughtful and insightful comment. The piano plugin is called Noire and I think I used a felt piano, although often times I use more than a single piano plugin. I don't remember what exactly I did here.
