yeah there's the 88 key version in my neighbourhood for $600 with a few extra bits of gear included...hmmm so tempted... 600 is a lot of bananas though, just thinking what else I could spend it on...
Correction ,it does have some of the Motif Mega Voices too and yes in 2024 i still use it. I have the whole line the MO6,MM6,MOX6,MOXF6 ,and the MODX6 all Motif lines including the Motif Classic rack,XS rack ES rack and XF rack..... some psr sounds but suitable enough to get the job done with The MM6 still. I love all my Yamahas stop hating🚫🚫🚫🤣🤣🤣🤣💀
I’ve had my MM6 for many years and it’s been old reliable for me through moves, college, careers, and everything in between. I’m no professional and it’s not going to be rivaling top tier hardware, but it has been so fun to have around. Surprisingly durable, and very portable. For what it is, it is perfect! 🫡
I have the same keyboard. In its box, haven't used it for some time. I remember it could do some realistic strumming etc with acoustic guitar sounds. Some tones were taken from the Yamaha Motif range of workstations, so very good and realistic. 😀👍
Had 2 of mm6 a few years ago, some comments are right regarding it being a souped up PSR, a handful of cool sounds and an Arpeggiator gloss over the cracks. This keyboard is sadly nothing like a motif but useful in rehearsals or just messing about when you don't want decent gear being wrecked.
Yep I think it was intended to sit firmly in the semi-pro realm. Lots of fun. Too advanced for beginners but not slick enough for pros. It'll always be a special one for me though :)
The MM sounds like a rompler in a keyboard. I love it 🎉
Yep love it too :)
Fun to play with 👍
Considering it was released in 2007, it seems that these are still commanding a good price.

The Yamaha MM is basically a PSR keyboard disguised as a synth. Unfortunately it also sounds as thin as a PSR keyboard.

100% agree, it's the ideal 'middle ground' imho
The MM6 is a variant of the PSR-S500 and they do sound similar.
Interesting sounds. What year was this keyboard released?
It released in 2007
