ODEs saving old disc based syestems since they were concieved. Another good one once all the quirks get resolved. Thanks for showing this one off Adam.
I bought a broken Neo-Geo CD a couple of weeks ago. I have got it working now and have ordered the SD loader to fit as I want to preserve the original drive (although I only have one disc that I bought to test it with). Thank you for this video, there are a few online showing you how to fit it but this is the only one I could find showing the operation of the device. I am looking forward to fitting it and enjoying the games :-)
i love this. i met this channel five minutes ago when researching the dreameye and saw your 13 year old video on top. you’re still doing this? love it. keep up the fantastic work!
"I'm not Digital Foundry' was my favorite line, haha. Thanks for sharing this, Adam. I enjoy how you share and deliver the information in your unique way just like I enjoy DF for theirs, so us viewers are the real beneficiaries of all of the different channels. Thanks for being you
If the Neo Geo CD and AES are essentially the same base hardware... I wonder if the firmware of this SD Loader could be patched to use AES games as well. That would be freaking sweet for those AES game that didn't make it to the CD.
I love the Neo Geo CD SD Loader Adam. One if the greatest inventions for the Neo Geo CD and the Neo Geo lineup in a long time. Great to see you covering it since its truly a gem of a piece to be installed onto your NGCD top and front loaders bro. 8^) I posted this amazing video up on the Neo-Geo thread over on the forums on AtariAge for others to take notice. Thank you for sharing this with us Adam. 8^) Anthony.
cool piece of tech! super amused at the 'fast' loading screen animation like its 10 stars SF2 turbo, haha. and I do remember the whole filename issue from the MEGA SD video. definitely something I'd look into if I had the money for an NGCD system.
10:10 People will want to change the names of the folders because your names for the games are not the "correct names" for the games. For example, if you gave your SD card to a Japanese player with a SD Loader, that person will see "Aggressors of Dark Kombat" and may not know what the hell that is and will have to rename it to "Tsuukai GANGAN Koushinkyoku" because that is the "correct name" of the game.
PSA: make sure you patch your games (that need it) to get rid of the Copy Protection. Otherwise you'll get randomly kicked out of games and/or get an error message.
I only really had problems with KOF 95, 98, Neo Turf Masters, and Fatal Fury Special but the full list is: Art of Fighting 3 Breakers Fatal Fury 3 Ironclad KOF 95 96 97 and 98 Last Blade 1 and 2 Magical Drop 2 Metal Slug 1 and 2 Neo Drift Out Neo Turf Masters Ninja Masters Ragnagard Real Bout Fatal Fury 1 2 and Special SamSho 3 and 4 Sam Sho RPG (Doesn't work with the SDLoader anyway since it's technically a Bios mod, not an ODE) Stakes Winner And Twinkle Star Sprites
@@AdamKoralik yeah what Gengar was saying is what happens, I could play at most 2 matches before the game would give me an error, but it would usually error me in the middle of the first match (3v3) I'd play.
SNK Xbox Live Arcade games also work the same way Example, Metal Slug 3 in US is English with Blood Disabled. Change your 360 to Japan region and load up Metal Slug 3 You now have Japanese text with Blood Enabled.
Fun fact... for anyone who can't afford the mods, and doesn't care about the load times.... The neo geo CD along with the Sega cd.... never had CD protection and so you can burn the games directly to CD (Bin cue) and play backups that way. It's a cheaper option... but you still stay stuck with the load times.... but a cheaper alternative. ;)
Just be careful when buying these, hopefully it's fixed now but they were shipping these with extremely lose sockets that went over the IC. I know because I have glue sticks holding down pressure on mine.
Mine is held down with glue too. At first It seemed that it was a problem with the first batch but I have a theory that some NGCDs have an IC that is slightly bigger than normal. I had to send mine to Cruzlink to get it installed and the new sockets he bought also didn't want to click in place, so the glue was necessary.
I have top loader with this kit and sometimes i have error Reading games, i use 64g sandisk sd card so i dont think it's the sd card quality, perhaps copyright protection ...
I understand an male fan of My little Pony renaming the roms to hide the My little Pony fan games. Or remaming Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City to just Raccoon City to make it easy.
I love that you describe your second channel as "new" while it's been a thing for around 2 years 🤣
..Truth.
I mean, 2 years vs over 11, it's relatively new.
@@frankwhite2072 14. :P
@@frankwhite2072 Now it's the future , again.

Also because neo Geo AES games cost a arm and a leg and a kidney.
Happily just purchased one, and excited to play some Neo Turf Masters tonight!
Adam is the MAN! Gotta get that mod!

Thanks dude.
If I only had a NEOGEOCD then this would be FANTASTIC!!
2:14 history’s most popular console is obviously the VM Labs NuOn

If I had a Neo Geo CD, I’d absolutely own the loader too. The time difference is night and day and there’s no wear and tear on the discs that way.

Doesn't really matter if it's for your own use. I rename all JP titles, as no point having long Japanese files.
This looks good!
I'm not a Neo Geo CD owner but that's great news for guys who have that console, way faster loading times
Adam, you missed the main chance to showcase the load times of the SD Loader on Last Blade 2...that is a game changer.
Amazing video Adam💯🎮👍🏾
Love the video dude

What games have that issue?
I only really had problems with KOF 95, 98, Neo Turf Masters, and Fatal Fury Special but the full list is:
Art of Fighting 3

Fatal Fury 3
Ironclad
KOF 95 96 97 and 98
Last Blade 1 and 2
Magical Drop 2
Metal Slug 1 and 2
Neo Drift Out
Neo Turf Masters
Ninja Masters
Ragnagard
Real Bout Fatal Fury 1 2 and Special
SamSho 3 and 4
Sam Sho RPG (Doesn't work with the SDLoader anyway since it's technically a Bios mod, not an ODE)
Stakes Winner
And
Twinkle Star Sprites
@@GhibliNova That's odd because, as you can see, 95 was running just fine in the video

Never knew about the front loader. What a monster! (floorboard creaks) It's right behind me isn't it.
That is a great MOD for the Neo Geo CD buddy :)
Now we need a flashcart for the Hyper Neo Geo 64 play all five games on original hardware

I used to have a model 2 Sega CD 9 years ago and that is what I did.
I burned all the games I wanted to blank CDs and it worked great.
A 10/10 recommendation
I enjoyed this video of some kind.

Pretty cool product!
I should get this for my Neo geo Cd, but it isn’t Cheap. What is faster though loading the game, the Neo Geo Cd sd loader or an AES?
AES, it's still cart based.
Sería genial que también funcionarán los juegos de MVS,

10:20 I don’t mind letting people know that I’m into h3nti4, but I’ll be dead before anyone finds out I am playing Barney’s Rip-off Franklin Adventure
