@JonP227GT thanks for stopping by I appreciate you! I did feel and see a difference after adding the bar. I tightened up the rear end and lessen the body roll. I recently realized my rear passenger shock was blown completely and after I changed them (video coming soon) it made a whole lot of difference even more. It now handles good ties up the rear nicely! If I have extra $200 laying around I’d like to change it for performance bar like Addco. But for the price of the stock one and not having one previously. This is good for me!
@@LoveWhatYouDrive I purchased the same bar and will be installing it later this weekend along with new Moog springs. I’m happy to hear it makes a difference. I’m excited to add a bit more stability with the handling. I too would have gone with the bigger bars, but I just replaced the front links and bushings so I didn’t want to waste money. Even with the links and bushings up front it made a difference. Thank you for the reply!
Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate you! I would agree to that statement. Even though I installed the stock bar, and even though it took away alot of the body roll, I am not convinced that that is the final end result and it could be greatly improved with a more performance oriented bar. Maybe in near future I’ll give it a try to see what can come from it. If you do install the upgraded version let us know how it does! Thanks
This is exactly the video that I was looking for! My grand marquis steering feels super sensitive at highway speeds. I've replaced pretty much the whole front steering & suspension. Someone on a forum with the same problem said a rear sway bar helped with the issue. Have you noticed any change in stability at around 65+ mph?
Thanks for stopping by and sharing! I added the bar and it helped with body roll in a good way. I know there are thicker and beefier sway bars and end links out there as performance, but not having any to getting even a stock one helped. I added mine because my rear end would feel like it skips or hops when I hit a bump or pot hole, especially if the car was turning even slightly. It would feel like the rear end would shift. It turned out to be a rear blown shock that was completely blown and seized. (I have the video up of changing the rear shocks.) but a combo of the sway bar and new shocks fixed the problem and completely gave comfort and confidence even at higher speeds 90mph +
Thanks for stopping by, it tightened up the rear end and helped with some body roll. If you can get a bigger diameter bar go with that. I think some of the p71 Vics have thicker bars or adtr have bigger ones but they are over $200. Let us know how it goes and what you decided to do!
Thank you for stopping by I appreciate your time and watching this video. In the beginning it was a money factor, these stock bars are only $25 and close to $40 with shipping. I wasn’t planning to do any kind of performance or crazy racing, so this one suits me just fine for now. I am tempted and I am on the lookout for a P 71 sway bar, at the moment I just can’t justify $200 for a ADTR beefy sway bar.
@@LoveWhatYouDrive Relax, Man -- It's obvious that you wanna help people learn while YOU are learning, and we want to help you succeed -- BUT -- as others have pointed out, the installation of this OEM-type sway bar tells us absolutely nothing. The ADDCO REAR sway bar is a 1- inch diameter bar, and will greatly improve the COMFORT of your passengers, especially on rural and country roads. The ADDCO FRONT sway bar is 1-1/4th" in diameter. ALL sway bar bushings and end-link bushings SHOULD be made of durable Urethane material -- resists wear and chemicals, never needs replacing. Using high-quality parts is most important -- they usually cost more, but there is always the "Economy of Quality" that keeps us from relying on cheap stuff that doesn't work.

@@LoveWhatYouDrive That is something I am considering too. I have a 2002 P71, and although it is a low-mileage police trainer, it sat most of its life, and the bushings and ball joints are all worn/dried out to the point it won't even stay aligned. It will all be replaced soon, but I am wondering about the improvement from bigger aftermarket sway bars as well, since I will already be ripping stuff out. I think I will start with the essentials and move up from there. I miss my 99 Mustang, so now I have a Longstang.
I went from none , to the small Factory one and it helped, I am curious now to go next step up like a p71 sway bar. To see how much better, and then maybe to adtr or something along them lines. That will be a real comparison. But I don’t carve mountain roads or canyons in my Merc, it’s my cruiser and straight line gasser( if I can call it that) so too much for me wont do much…but I am curious! And to have it and not needed is better than needing it and not having it!

Thanks for the video.
Thanks for your time! I appreciate you stopping by!
That's a nice watch to wear while doing this
Thank you sir! I appreciate you! I take it you’re a watch guy? And a car enthusiast? Love this watch! My go to…..
Cool vid. Well done. Thank You.
Thanks for coming, I appreciate the Sub and the comment!
Well done. Thanks!
Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate you!
Thanks for the video, ordering my sway bar kit today. I'm doing the dual exhaust mod on my Marquis, bought the walker H pipe for about $60, left tailpipe for about $55, right tailpipe is about the same cost, but mine is in great shape, so I'm going to use it. I bought two AP Xlerator stainless mufflers for $70 [for both]. I watched a lot of videos on here to find the sound I wanted and the AP Xlerator mufflers fit, not loud, just a little something to know they are there. If you would like part numbers, let me know. Thanks again!
Thanks for stopping by! That’s exactly the dual setup I want to get! I just found a stock p71 dual exhaust for my Merc and probably have to get the walker H pipe . And I think olde car guy has the same muffler you mentioned! That’s all I want, more flow, lil more sound and upgrade to dual! If it’s not too much trouble please share part number and where you bought the mufflers for that price! Thanks so much, I appreciate you!
@@LoveWhatYouDrive Thats the video I watched, olde car guy. I bought the H pipe and left tailpipe through Advance Auto Parts, they are always offering 15% discounts and free shipping. part numbers: H pipe 50326, Left TP 56112, right side TP 56111. Mufflers I bought through Summit Racing, part number XS1224, or XS 1255. The XS 1255 is closer to the length of the OE muffler, but are 2 1/4" ID, you have to get 2" ID to 2 1/4" OD adapters. I bought the XS1224, they are 2" ID and shorter, so I had to use 2" OD to 2" ID adapters. H pipe and TPs are 2" OD, by the way. Any questions, let me know! Thanks!
@@kenimel1383 thanks so much this is amazing! I did find a stock dual exhaust for $40 on Facebook market place and will be installing that to and documenting it. Want to see the improvement from single oem to dual oem to the accelerator mufflers! Look out for the video, hopefully sooner than later! Again I appreciate the pets list this makes this game easier!
@@LoveWhatYouDrive Awesome, glad to help! You gained one subscriber, love all the info on these cars! Oh, did you happen to get the left side muffler and TP hangers?
The guy gave me hangers he had laying around, but I got complete dual all in one piece! Stock car back with original mufflers still.
Thanks for the video. Planning this myself. Did you like the handling difference.
Hey thanks for watching I appreciate it! I do like the handling, it’s not like a race car or the saying “like on rails” but definitely less body roll! Good luck!
I have this in my 2010 Mercury.
I was surprised that some GS models or “lower trim” models had this option but my LS trim did not. I also would like dual exhaust but mine only came with one factory. I’m on the look out for an exhaust system. Not too loud.
@@LoveWhatYouDrive Some extra money for sway bar in dealership? I don't know few things about my car.Do i have got DRL(or they are just deactivated) or why i bought car without remote control(i had only one key).I will have all answers after i will get orginal window sticker from webside.
@@TheBarth79 I bought the sway bar at rock auto for fairly cheap. But I still have much work to do on the car as well. It has been in an accident with previous owner so there’s things here and there
Thank you
Thank you for your time! ✌🏼
Awesome video. Did you notice much of a difference after?
@@03SilverMustangGT thanks man! Let us know how the project goes! Moof springs for lowering or just oem replacement?
My town car already came with that. Thinking about upgrading to a thicker set front and rear. Right now still feels real sloppy at times.
Thanks
@@LoveWhatYouDrive for sure
Thanks! That would be cool to see what happens!
How was the ride after you put on the new Dorman swaybar?
Thanks for stopping by, it tightened up the rear end and helped with some body roll. If you can get a bigger diameter bar go with that. I think some of the p71 Vics have thicker bars or adtr have bigger ones but they are over $200. Let us know how it goes and what you decided to do!

So, theres no torque specs? Just tighten to whatever a person thinks is good?
Rear Swaybar:
- endlinks - 15 lb/ft (20 Nm) - brackets - 18 lb/ft (25 Nm) (google)
Should of gotten a bigger diameter swaybar.
Using high-quality parts is most important -- they usually cost more, but there is always the "Economy of Quality" that keeps us from relying on cheap stuff that doesn't work.
next, swap out that weak single exhaust for a P71 Crown Vic Dual exhaust system.
Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate you! Yes yes yes yes! I’m on a hunt for one at reasonable price! Or aftermarket on the low low $!
Gotta keep the music in the background, my guy. Good info, but you don't need any music, let alone a track that is louder than your voice.
Thanks for watching and commenting! I totally agree with you 💯 on this one. This was one of my very first videos and I knew nothing of how to make these videos and tutorials…I learned with the helping comments like these…and am still learning…I appreciate your comments and time! Thanks…
@@LoveWhatYouDrive Please make more, I do like your style!
Thanks! Maybe when I upgrade to a p-71 sway bar of if I find justification to purchase a ADTR performance one I’ll remake the video…
I went from none , to the small
Factory one and it helped, I am curious now to go next step up like a p71 sway bar.
Two leftover bolts correct lol
Thanks for stopping by I appreciate your time! I’m not sure I catch on…?
just did this on my crown victoria handles so much better now can take a turn without the car sliding around corners or feeling like it will tip over go check mine out on my channel
Thanks for your time! I appreciate it! I will go check it out.
Dumb background music sucks
I will not argue with you on that one I have come a long way from that but I do appreciate you stopping by! which gives me an idea to upgrade my rear sway bar to a bigger one and make a legit. “No dumb music” video.
Your follower from Saudi Arabia, I love what you do. I was hoping that you would also add an opening method
Hey thanks for the support, I appreciate it. What do you mean when you say “add an opening method”…thanks in advance!
