I think it’s worth while Keith to have these discussions and walk through images of what you were thinking to create the photo. It shouldn’t be just about sharing your best work, but the reality of a day in the life of. These videos, imo, are inspiring and beneficial to get us thinking outside our own boxes. Street photography isn’t easy. I did some in NYC a few times. I got yelled at by street vendors, had ugly looks, but also, had some very cool people willing to smile for the camera.

Thanks Mark, completely agree. I think that’s what vlogging should be about, bringing the viewers to your stories and journeys. The challenges actually makes for better storytelling 😂 that’s my concern with street photography too and glad haven’t had any nasty encounters 😅

Glad you enjoyed Keith. I really liked that shot too 😁 took many iterations to get the proper blur and framing.

A great tell Keith creating interest and intrigue is hard to do even with a film ! But with a single frame it’s most likely a decade to perfect 👌🏻 (perhaps we all only get one or two such shots in a lifetime)
I did like the contrast and compare of the last photo
    So many questions being asked!
    ATB Simon 🤠👍

Thanks Simon! Yeah, we just need to keep scoping for those “meaningful” photos 😁 glad you enjoyed.

I think you made some amazing shots there. Maybe I should go into the city again to do some photography. You realy inspire me with these images. I know how you feel about missing shots because you can't decide witch lens... I'll definitely remember that and just bring one lens when I do it. And the girl on the bench wad indeed the best shot. It doesn't matter that it isn't razor sharp because you caught that moment briljantly. And I personally like the guy walking trough the red light best of the 2. Just because of the story in the image. Thamks mate great video! Grt guido

Would be looking forward to seeing your city photographs 😁 though I remember you tried a bit with the bridge, that one was nice and can do more. Appreciate the comments, I also liked the sun flare from that image, indeed tells more of a story. Thanks for watching and support as usual!

I love the story in the photos. Street photography scares the hell out of me.
I love my 50mm, it's one of my all time favourite lens

Thank dude! Same as me, Im still not completely comfortable with it, but getting there. 😂
I do like the natural compression of the 50mm that you can’t get with a wide 😁 though with narrow streets like in HK, sometimes I need more space 😅

I'm glad you are not only doing POV. the photo on 4:34 is super cool, everyone is wearing something gray and black and then that red wall, green fire extinguisher and the focus on the women is super nice. its like she is taking a moment from the rush hour. I would blur that old dude on the left though. you can use the bokeh in nature photography. primes make me more creative in a way, because you have to move around and then I'm looking a bit different at the photo. it's indeed that we don't get lazy using a zoom, but it's just different. I love architecture photo's the one at 7:00 is nice. beautiful glow after the building and those reflecting windows. the car for me is a bit distracting, but I get why you put it in the photo.

Thanks dude, yeah I don’t like full POV videos as they could be boring to sit through the entire 10mins 😅 so experimenting a bit to have some changes.
I do agree and noticed the man on the left should be blurred too or darkened out, but I didn’t edit my street photos as meticulously as my landscapes. Just slap on my basic user preset 😂 maybe I’ll have a re-look at them when I have time. I take your point about the taxi being distracting, I would fully agree if it was any other car, but that red taxi would make it look more “Hong Kong”. I think without it, it would just look like any other city. Probably could’ve composted better!
Thanks for the comments dude, always appreciate it

@@CluelessTH-camr and I thought you always showed us your best work 😂😂 I never use presets, but I made a few last thinking I would use them. You are probably right about the Hong Kong taxi, it would just be an awesome photo of architecture 😁. I took notes while watching the video this time 😂 otherwise I forget what you said and showed in the beginning of the video

Hey Keith I really enjoy these videos because I think it's pretty challenging doing street photography. It actually inspires me to want to go down to downtown Los Angeles or even Hollywood blvd and try this. So many interesting characters. Thanks for sharing

It’s really challenging and chaotic, it’s very hard and why I just do “spray and pray” 😂 look forward to what you can capture with the shots there!

I was interested to see you speak about the photo at 4:35 as that was my favourite photo of the day. That being said you had some great photos 👌

Do you need such a big lens with f1.2 for street photography? Or should you rather go for a smaller, a bit more "stealthy" lens? Isn't f2.0 or even f2.8 enough for street?

    • @CluelessYoutuber
      @CluelessYoutuber  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

Do I need f1.2? Definitely not. I mentioned that in the video. Indeed f2 or f2.8 is fast enough for street. I bought this lens primarily to have fun with my astrophotography. Nowadays, I’m just finding other reasons to use it so I bring it around for street.

"Don't believe that bullshit". I agree, it probably was the marketing from the sellers since prime lenses cost more and since it is only a single focal length, you'll need different focal lengths.
