Dude, Aaron, you’re getting better every time! The editing is amazing! Dixie, the footage is killer! The music, her hand on the grass tops, the views, the slo-mo running lizard.... all pure awesomeness. The subs are well-earned. Great story-telling! I’m loving the CDT. 😍
I've been having so many questions about the cdt experience; its been my life goal since fifth grade. rather than scrolling through petty faqs and handbooks, this series has given me so much understanding and inspiration about the experience. thank you!
Hey Dixie, THANK YOU SO MUCH for you and Aaron taking the time each day on this wonderful adventure to record your experience and do all of the work it must take to compile and edit all of the footage to share with us. Every Thursday, I start looking forward to the next Wednesday video drop! You guys rock!!!
Hey Dixie, having spent a lot of my life in New Mexico, it was a so great to see my worldwide favorite place on your channel. It brought tears to my eyes just purely from missing the Gila monument and Jordan hot springs. It was my first backpacking trip that cemented my love for this hobby. I’ve been back three times because it takes my breath away in every which way. I loved seeing how much you loved it yourself. Thank you so much for you inspiration. Someday I’m determined to do the AT.
Had a blast hiking with you guys, I appreciate you guys bringing me along and making me feel welcome. Thanks for the audio cameo at the end. Perk was a badass manhandling that fish.
I know the video does not do justice to being there in person ,but you do an awesome job capturing the beauty. There are few vids I like to rewatch on my big TV to get more immersed and yours are definitly some of those. thanx for showing our great country. Glad you got to enjoy a nature perk of hot springs and soon a steak dinner, way to go guys
Beautiful scenery. Another killer video, Dixie. I'm a little late to the party, watching on Memorial Day. You are at 108k subs now. And climbing! Love the videos. Thanks for sharing your adventures, your passion, your life. Happy trails.
The Gila is an amazing place. You are going to see a little bit of everything in New Mexico. After you finish the CDT I hope that you will come back and Explore the Pecos Wilderness which is also incredibly beautiful. Your videos and pictures are amazing. I hope that you can continue to show people what they are missing out on by sitting at home.
I am astounded by you and other posters who can hike all day and still find the time to create, edit and post these videos, with appropriate music no less! On long distance hikes it was all I could do to write down where I was camping on my map and fall asleep. Grateful just the same. Hope to do this trail in a couple years.
Congrats on the 100K Dixie. Well deserved. The videos have a much more polished feel to them now. almost like mini-movies. Very professional. But of course the backbone of the whole show is your indomitable spirit. Shine on girl.
My 3 year old requested we rewatch this video together on the big TV (Chromecast)... "Let watch her hikes". 👍 Love watching your adventures. The cliffdwellings look incredible.
Hey Dixie, Thanks for creating these videos of your process. My son in law is through hiking the AT right now. My hiking experience is pretty limited, and I was apprehensive, worrying about everything from water (not enough) food(not enough) weather, animals etc. Your experiences give me a clue into why and how he is doing this adventure. So, thank you and Chipmunk thanks you because now I can relax and just wish him the best. By the way, I am hooked, and will be watching the remainder of your submissions. Safe Journeys!
I love that we not only get to experience the trail from your commentary but also that you take such wonderful shots of the scenery. It almost feels like we’re there with you!! So beautiful. Best wishes
My 4-year-old too! He loves watching these with me and knows that we want to do some big hikes as a family someday! But this is his favorite hiking channel.
I grew up in Silver City, and have spent alot of time in various areas of the Gila. Welcome to our beautiful state, many don't realize we have such hidden beauty. Enjoy your time!
I can not imagine seeing such amazingly beautiful things in person!!!! The geology, plants, rocks, ancient history...I’d LOVE all that! Thank you for that treat! Now I’ll go read about the geology and native history. I could not walk past all that...I would explore for hours. Congrats on 100K-that’s awesome!
Congrats on the steak dinner and 100k+! So glad that you got to see the cliff dwellings. What a magical place to hike. The scenery is stunning, as well as the way it was captured and shared. The smile on your face in the hot spring, followed by the comforting campfire, then the pan up to the majestic craggy peak was just awesome...gonna rewatch it again now! Thank you thank you thank you!
I LOVE THE GILA WILDERNESS,WENT THERE ONCE 11 YEARS AGO& ENDED UP STAYING IN THE WILDERNESS FOR 2 1/2 months,LEGEND HAS IT THAT THE ANASAZI ( ANCIENT ONES) COULD FLY. ANYWHO IT IS A VERY SPECIAL PLACE

You hiked right past the cabin my friend owns where we elk hunt out of each year. Love this area so much and happy you enjoyed it! I can't wait to hike it myself. AT first though, 2019 SOBO!!
Beautiful film work. We live on the edge of the San Juan Mountains and are looking forward to your adventure passing through them. Not much snow this year so should be nice walking.

Wednesdays are becoming my favorite day of the week, Dixie’s video day! I’ve been following you for a while and when I think “this is the best video ever” you upload a better one. It looks so beautiful out there.

Congratulations on reaching 100+K Dixie. But most of all congratulations on a superb hike so far. It really is beautiful out there isn't it? I'll be stopping by there again next year to see my friends at Galina Ranch. Glad you got to see the cliff dwellings.
I recently did some long distance hiking in the north of England (highly suggest if you get a chance) and it feels like you’re walking through ruins the whole time! Even on the tops of mountains there are old stone walls (and sheep).
Dixie, You sounded so positive during the whole of this video, I guess that come with an experienced hiker. I still hear a lot of women on the AT this year with their less than positive ramblings. Its a joy to subcribe and support your efforts. Thanks to you and Aaron for the videos.
Congratulations on 100k. I’ve been following you since you put out the video about why you switched from hammock to tent. Your videos are by far the best in the genre!
Last week I went on vacation with my family to Monte Sano State park in Alabama and I hiked the McKay Hollow trail along with a couple others. I love hiking and Alabama
Hi Dixie! Absolutely love following your videos--been watching them for over a year now. Loved seeing where indigenous people used to live around Gila Falls here. Did you learn what indigenous people they were? Have you learned about any indigenous people today who are connected to the land that y'all have been hiking through? Would love to hear more about this as you're hiking! Thanks and happy trails!!!
Just started watching your videos. I’m amazed at the extra work you do to put together these excellent videos while doing these hikes. I attempted a thru hike of the pct in 95. Just had a point and shoot. Sometimes I was too tired just to take a simple picture

Can we talk about how Pert brought a tie on a long distance hike! 😂
kclo , it’s PERC. Not Pert.
Perk like the coffee, not Pert like the shampoo lol
Fun fact: In Czech language, "Pert" means to pass gas.
Perk
Apparently, no. We cant talk about it.
Cool underwater footage, really enjoying the cinematography!
Already excited for the next episode
Very cool. Glad you are sharing.
