In this video, I show you what I've been working on over the last few months of summer, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The focus of the video is around collage and mixed media on cradled wood panels, as well as, on 5x7" collage art in my concertina journal. The journal was folded and cut from a large 18x24" watercolour painting on Strathmore 140 lb paper. I 'd folded it up into a "concertina" book after learning from a course I'd taken by UK artist, Helen Wells. Each page is a great background or jumping off point for a 5x7" artwork.
I pull a card from an art deck called "Souls Seeking Seed" by artist, Kim Dills. Also, I pick a card from my own Art Poetry card deck and share my insights into the words and images.

I'm just catching up with your video after a busy summer. 😊
My daughter has just started secondary school, and that has taken a lot of my focus these past couple of weeks. We lost our beloved companion Lani, our family beagle, right at the beginning of the summer holidays, so I've been greiving her loss and focusing internally, I guess that's the best way of putting it.
But everything is starting to settle down again and I felt it was time to catch up on some art stuff that I had stopped watching for a while. Hopefully it will give me enough inspiration to take up my own practice again. I guess my creativity has felt a little stifled since about April this year with one problem after another.
I love catching your videos, it's great to see what you have been getting up to on your break away from you tube and the colours of your artwork are so uplifting. 👌 just what I need to start moving on back into those positive vibes.
I loved the 2 cards - Awareness and Listen. Perfect summary for what I've been up to myself. I've been pulling a couple cards every few days from your deck as well. One of my favourites that came out

Great video. Your « books » are called « zine ». A concertina book is a long folded piece of paper(s). I repeat myself, your art poetry deck is very beautiful. Already 500 sold, I am so very pleased for you. Merci 😊

Is there art work on both sides ?
Sometime I create on both sides of my art on paper.
Now THIS is my idea of collage. Not just sticking various leftover pieces of paper willy-nilly all over the paper. A collage, in my mind, should represent something, not be just a hodgepodge of jumbled papers which many seem to think is collage. Thank you for reaffirming my beliefs.

I make the “jumbled paper” type of collage and that is like abstract art. If you know anything about abstract art, you would understand.
@@LynnLBE LOL, if you do just throw all your leftover paper into a jumble, then my reply applies to you. However, if you carefully curate your pieces in how they go together, then you should not be triggered by my beliefs. BTW, abstract art means something, even if it's only in the mind of the viewer.
