Don't be scared of the blank page. Beautiful sketchbook tour. I cherish my sketchbooks. Over the last couple of years I started embracing my sketchbooks and now I totally love working in them.
Amazing sketchbook tour. To ensure I'm not afraid of a blank page or starting a new sketchbook I don't work in a sketchbook in order from page one and on...I grab my sketchbook, close my eyes and flip to whatever page my hand stops on...I often times then take a dirty paint brush or old paint off my palette and flick paint onto the page...so now my page isn't in order and it isn't clean so I'm no longer afraid ...really helps me❤. Anyway, great video, and thanks for sharing. Don't be afraid of a blank page...lol

One of the reasons I adore your artwork is because it's so much like true Folk Art which has been my all time favorite as long as I can remember and I just turned 70. Even though I love it I don't have the patience or creativity to paint that way and found painting photo realistic portraits simpler because I didn't have to think or be imaginative. I do love loose watercolors too but everyone does it and it doesn't take a lot of thought either. It's just another style of painting. Tight details are very important in Folk Art styles and trying to paint loose doesn't really work for that. So please don't fuss about trying to get looser in your painting approach because your will lose that special charm that makes Folk Art so creative, extraordinary and special. Bottom line, don't listen to others opinions, just paint what you love to paint.

Don’t’ be scared of the blank page! Love your sketchbook your! I have a few sketchbooks filled with a few drawings and paintings here and there. Your works are beautiful, detailed and even the timed sketches captured the essence of the scenes. Your arts are truly unique and your voice matches the mood of your paints perfectly!

Don’t be scared of the blank page. I am someone who is now a little scared of working outside of my sketchbook, I never used to be but I love my sketchbooks so much that o struggle a little when trying to branch out. Loved the sketchbook tour, some lovely drawings and colour palettes.

Don't be scared of the blank page. Very nice to watch read somewhere that you should just scribble on the first one so you will just use it already 😆. I'm currently busy in 4 sketch books because I've to wait for it to dry so I'll go to the next one. When I finish 2 of those I'm making a separate sketch book for all my swatches. Having those spread over 4 different kind of paper sketchbooks is not so handy.
Learned that I really like the Canson spiral bound ones and they do have different papers but this one will stay mostly flat when you work on it. Splurged way to much on watercolours and want to have my collection swatches in one place.

And as I started this habit I found out that sketchbooks keep me more relaxed, but when I need to do some precise work, I become quite lazy to draw with all the details. I find it interesting behavior but I m also a bit struggling with it😅 but I think keeping a sketchbook is wonderful because you can revisit your ideas and make them into bigger or more detailed works

Don’t be scared of the blank page. I used to be the same about keeping my sketchbooks perfect and then I broke out of that. I now reach for random pages and instead of covering up bad sketches I’m more likely to keep them or work on them. You have some beautiful spreads.

Don't be scared of the blank page! At times when I work in my sketch book I wish I had done the work on better paper. Then, other times instead on good paper, I should have worked it out in my sketch book first! Yikes! Thanks for taking us on your first tour, very informative and well done!

Don't be scared of the Blank Page. Yup, I made it all the way through. And I think you shouldn't be so dismissive of your swatches, I find them very interesting and colourful. They can be very informative too, useful and beautiful in a sketchbook. I started watching this because I've been thinking of doing a sketchbook tour recently - for my TH-cam channel, so of course I was intrigued to see how you'd done yours. I especially liked your "Pebble Swatches" that's a lovely way to do it.

Love this sketchbook tour! 💖Thank you for touching on the fears of making sketchbooks perfect & learning to be less precious with them… something I’ve definitely struggled with.
Also ADORE the painting at 13:00!! The more loose quality to me allows more movement and life to the scene, bringing in some of the wildness of nature into the painting… it's so interesting and compelling to look at 😍

Hi Natasha! This was a good video for me as I am sometimes reluctant to use my sketchbooks. The idea of painting over something I don't like was a bit of a breakthrough for me. It's really nice that you and Kriksis have joined up. I enjoy her work as well. I won't be intimidated by the blank page anymore!

Love this real sketchbook tour..... You (or your mum) won't be far from me, I'm in Sunny Suffolk too... if you know of any art clubs or classes in Suffolk worth looking at. I work from home drawing and would love a chance to meet like minded people.

Lovely tour, I enjoy seeing real sketchbooks more than those perfect ones. It used to bother me when I messed up a sketch or had a page with random swatches, but I’ve decided to be chill about it. Not always easy, but it’s a fair reflection of me that day probably.

I love the background colour and the tree in the sketchbook where you cut out a piece.That's a good idea to paint something on the next page. The sleeping fox looks so cute! Lovely to see your sketchbooks Natasha. ‘Don’t be scared of the blank page’ That applies to me more with a sheet of paper rather than my sketchbooks. I have about a million and one unfinished drawings and paintings on sheets of paper which have gone wrong and I have abandoned but then I feel guilty for wasting paper. For some reason I seem to do better work more often in my sketch books 🤔
Don't feel guilty - it's not a waste, as all of the bad work goes into the good work!
