- Y’all lovely people know I always do blind reactions... well. 🤦🏼♀️ I listened to the Bastia performance! I’ll just have to react to the Gakku one as well! When I finished filming and realized my error I was like, you know what this is still an unbelievable performance so we’re KEEPING IT. 😂 I hope you all enjoy a reaction to a “less often reacted to” performance that is truly great from our Dimash!

No need for it if u watch the Gakku version closely he never sang the d 8 note its a tape from the background u can hear clearly seconds after he "sung" the d8 the same d8 sound again but just very quietly. i am sure he can sing the note in a studio but not on live concerts, not in Gakku and not somewhere else.

In front of the D8 he holds the microphone away from his head and seems to be preparing and maybe trying to hit it, you just can't hear and then it doesn't work with the microphone immediately, or you can't hear it anymore and only the second time . There are also other examples where it hits very high notes.
The concert also went 'only' half an hour and it is quite possible that he is not always able to do so. Apart from reverb effects ect, he apparently doesn't even like to have any technical support pushed on. Of course, studio recordings are always better, which must be clear even to me as a layman, then when you are rested you sing a Somng several times, maybe piece it together and give it a little fine-tuning. With some, more is necessary, with others less.

@dbPAT Late reply here but for anyone coming in, reading the comments... that “D8” heard after D’s D8 is a whistle from the audience that happened to be the same note D just made with his vocal cords.
We can only speculate what happened beforehand but it appears that maybe he went for a lower whistle note and missed it so he tried again and went higher, whether intentionally or not (probably so). Regardless, it is 100% D singing that high.
You should still do the Gakku version with the D8,hewrote this beautiful song in his teens. I am always impressed with how he can get abuse stadium to go totally silent, you can hear apin drop until he finishes and they all go crazy 🤩💖 no fear of heights, he often abseil from the roof into his concerts, he is a daredevil 😀 look into Durdaraz from his New York concert for Rockstar Dimash, its a Kazakh folk song hard Rock style 🤪💖 he has different backup singers now and they are incredible 😘
Angel, I'm glad you went ahead and posted your blind reaction even after you realized it wasn't the D8 performance. A lot of other reactors wouldn't upload it, then they'd do the "right" performance and pretend they'd never heard the song before. I appreciate your integrity. If you get negative comments or dislikes because of it, I hope you ignore them.
Can you believe he wrote this as a teenager? And yes, it’s extremely difficult to be on such a moving platform. (Not only for your body but also your brain)

it is correct, Dimash was 19 when he wrote the music, the lyrics were written by a friend of the family, Olzhas Baysingir, based upon some talks with D. to better put his feelings into words. cheers from Vienna!
i have been watching in admiration all of your reactions to our beloved Dimash. All of his performances are gems. So thank you for this latest reaction. I understand he wrote this song when a young teenager, and every time he sings it I feel his personal investment in the story is strong. The lyrics are filled with passionate, burning, youthful love.

I'm still intrigued by the nature of this song, it has such a particular atmosphere like no other Dimash song or any other song I've heard.. Its like an anthem or a singalong but there's a unique vibe from Dimash.. Its feels nostalgic there's something of the past, is it a childhood feeling.. I'm intrigued and of course I love it..
That’s Dimash. His voice also can bring out a certain ‘feeling’ of the song. From the battle rouse in Ogni Piettra to crying child in Daybreak, from space travelling in Across Endless Dimensions to an ancient China in Thousand Miles.

I've seen clips of Dimash watching himself- he's mostly analysing, looking for his mistakes. He happens to be his biggest critic. A voice teacher said that his staccati a really clean because he uses his diaphragm and not his vocal cords, dunno if that's plausible but maybe it might help
He’s a true musician! Yes most trained singers use their diaphragm when singing those rapid fire staccati but even still his accuracy is really insane

The Gakku version has the infamous D8, but from a musical / singer's perspective, the version of the Singer show is way better than Gakku. The runs in the high falsetto / whistle range are so rapid and he hits the notes so precisely that it almost sounds like bird song. It is also very worth watching. Why not make a double feature?

It's pretty interesting, his dad songs in a very nasal voice and sometimes in can hear his dad's voice when he sings. There are videos of his parents singing together and separately and you can totally see his direct influences. He has the best of both of them.

When he decides to include a whistle, it's most often in the 7th octave, only at Gakku Festival he sang D8. The Bastau performance has no whistle, he sings the staccato part instead. This performance is memorable, because it is the only one, where the story of the song (meeting the girl, then the separation) is presented visually.

I dislike the Movie Trailer version, ( not his singing the visual distract ) much prefer the Audio only. Easier to concentrate on his voice and truly enjoy . One of his finest !!

He sings live how he feels like. The version with the D8 is impressive but he has other performances of this song with very long F5,G5 in mixed voice that for me are more difficult to replicate (i'm no expert). I think in Gakku he was going to do a D6 in mixed voice and failed (the voice didn't come out) and decided on the spot 'What the heck i'll go for something special' and went for straight to the D8 missed it slightly and landed on a C#8 and tuned it to a D8 with vibrato for 5 seconds (amazing). For that performance alone I believe that he has a few more notes in his bag because he made that note with vibrato and not straight tone. Also amazes me that he is able (with growl) to hit a F1# (like in some performances of 'Ascolta la Vocce' just insane.

I love your professional reactions to Dimash. Nobody until now ever mentioned the difficulties for a singer standing on a moving „stage“. Very interesting. And your rolling eyes at the staccato were priceless. Maybe you think I’m crazy but I would love to hear you in a duett with Dimash with this song. He already sang this song in a duett with a girl from Indonesia and 2 times with children.
Your voice is as easy as being nice to everyone, as needed as internal peace. Keep growing as being awesome.

I've seen this performance before and I remember thinking the moving platforms were really distracting and they could have just walked and stepped up onto a platform at the end. But the good thing about Dimash is that every performance is different. I suppose he just does what he feels like doing that day.

If you want the D8 you should react to the Gakku version of this song (and it would be very interesting to hear what you have to say about it). But all the versions of this song are unique and beautiful. Dimash has many songs that he sings differently in every performance. Know/Ascolta la voce is one. Not only there are 2 versions: with lyrics and a vocalise version, practically without lyrics, but he performed each version many times and the improvisations he does in every one of them are different and each performance is unique and amazing. Many reactors react to several performances of such songs.

Drunken Concubine + Diva Dance is a 6 octave performance: F#1-F#7. Some people say there's also an E1 in that song but I don't know if that's true.
Diva Dance Shenzhen has also 5 octaves (F#2 - F#7) and Unforgettable Day at the Gakku Festival (with the D8) has also 5 😊 And yes, the new Diva Dance has 6 (F#1 - F#7 (I hear 2 F#1s but not an E1 tbh))

There are two versions of this song you should check those out: a Gakku version and a Singer version. The Singer performance is awesome and the part with riffs and runs in the ending is different and amazing.

That D8 in the Gakku concert was likely an improvisation. Dimash didn't prepare it beforehand. He just accidentally proved that he is not human :-)

His sung range expands 6 octaves and 2 semitones, from C2 to C6 to F♯6 and, finally, D8.
However his known range was a little more than 6 octaves, it’s now almost 7.
In Dimash’s case it was even confirmed. A popular Turkish vocal coach, Emre Yücelen, once analysed Dimash and said he must have longer vocal folds than usual.. he, then, once visited Dimash in Kazakhstan and directly asked him if he had longer vocal folds and Dimash said yes.
Here’s also an American voice teacher, Mary Zimmer, talking about Dimash, his range and the anatomy his vocal folds must have:
Phenomenal singer btw. He’s not only about range, his skill level is immensely high, he has such a precise technique, is amazingly versatile (he sings in several different genres and uses styles and techniques of pretty much all genres), and he still does a great job in conveying emotion in his performances. Many vocal pedagogues call him best singer in the world. His range is not his most important feature, but of course it’s a nice plus.

I think for the dear in the first place is the version from Gakku in the second from Singer (like me) and finally the units are preferred from Bastau.

Dimash is 26 yrs old I believe...has been doing this since he was 5...he is currently working on his doctoral degree in Music...He is THE best singer in the world...he knows what he is doing!
