Gakku is a Kazakh tv station, and Dimash was the main act for an outdoor festival in 2017 (I think in Almaty). There were 150 000 spectators there ...
Dimash composed this beautiful song whilst still a teenager, and asked his friend’s father to write the lyrics. He said recently he hadn’t planned to hit such a high note - I think his first attempt at the whistle note didn’t work, so he gave it extra ‘oomph’ when he tried again, lol!

What happened right before the crazy high note, the D8? Dimash attempted to slide to a whistled F#7 as he did in another performance and shake the microphone to prove that it was live, but didn't succeed. He got angry (you see him briefly shake his head) and out of that impulse he collected the strength to spontaneously produce the D8.

Small correction. Original 'whistle' note is a higher G7 not an F#7. He hit F#7 in "Diva Dance + Drunken Concubine' video. :) Here Di attempted G7 note, but it didn't 'came out',so he 'improvised' it with 0,5 second long C#8 slide to 4,5 second long D8 'whistle' with vibrato, on the spot.

👉 🎵 Dimash composed “Unforgettable Day” as he was 19 ys. A Dear said, Dimash first sings an ultrasound 🤣, then he remembers that we humans can’t hear it and gifted us a D8. This is a world record. Nobody has ever sung this high note in a live performance (captured on video for eternity) 🌼🇩🇪
This event was the 3rd Open Air Music Festival organized by Gakku TV on September 16, 2017 in Almaty, Kazakhstan - (2015 - 40,000 spectators, 2016 (1000 years of Almaty) - 90,000 spectators.
2017 - Dimash was announced and 150,000 came. A Kazakh Dear wrote, the city center was completely paralyzed because of the many people. The concert lasted 6 hours.
That also was the first gig and welcome back in Kazakhstan for Dimash, after 'The Singer 2017' in China. 🌼🇩🇪

Yeah he uses the mic shake to show he’s live - with sound. But he does it to wind himself up too. SOS, Love is like a Dream he does a similar thing.

This was a very emotional return to his home after being in China.... Yes he missed one note, but if you look, I believe he was just emotionally overcome with the love from the huge crowd.

He sometimes shakes the mic during a straight note to create that staccato effect. The time when there was no sound he went for a whistle that didn't come out. He took a breath and there came the dolphin tone

He supposedly wrote this when he first fell in love.
Love your Dimash reviews. Just found you. I think the place where he shakes the microphone, he was intending to do the note there. But it didn’t come out.
In preparation for the note, he had gotten off beat slightly, and I think he was struggling or nervous because of his attempt for the note.
But he didn’t give up on it, he tried again. Missed the note he attempted but slid up to where he wanted it to be. Such control, even on the fringe of his human capabilities.

There are some singer that can hit a higher note but none can do it in a live performance. Also some say that Dimash could hit a higher note because he now older.

It's in Khazazstan and it's a tv station my understanding. Okay the part shaking the microphone second time, the F#7 he was supposed to hit did not make it so he reloaded and gave us the famous D8 instead 😍.
