413BHP Single Turbo BMW X5 35d from the USA!

- This BMW X5 travelled a long way before we strapped it onto our dyno!
It was imported from the USA, registered in Germany and then driven here by the customer for our tuning.
The main difference to the X5 35d's were use to seeing, is the USA spec X5 35d comes with a N57N 3.0 single turbo as opposed to the bi-turbo models we get in the UK and Europe.
This allowed fitment of our GTD2873VR turbo, 2700 BAR fuel pressure sensor, regulator and metering valve upgrade, FMIC and Exhaust to push 413bhp and just over 600ft/lbs!!
If this wasn't enough, the customer is leaving the car for us upgrade the fuel system and cams to see even more! Subscribe to catch the update in the future!

My buddy has one and after replacing the dpf, scr, egr cooler, and seeing the 1/4” build-up in the egr, tb, and intake manifold, decided to get a proper tune to delete all those points of unreliability.
It sounds amazing and goes like the clappers

As an American with a 2016 535d this video was of great interest to me! Especially since I wasn't sure how the jump to the 28 turbo would affect it but. Seems like a fantastic combo and I already love how this X5 sounds I can't wait to hear it with a cam! Are you upgrading it to Piezos?
It's not that simple, the ECU is totally different with Piezoelectric injectors
@@DarksideDevelopments Sounds like the US version already came with a different ECU than the Euro 30ds? The fun stuff always takes a bit of extra effort doesn't it?
I have a US spec 535d and the ECU is different than the ecu in my f15 x5 in the video here. I have the same turbo that i will install on 535d too, that will be later in down the road.
535D only by name. You've a 530D in reality.

Can we get a dyno vid on this car? I spoke to the owner last year about the modifications he's done, specifically the turbo upgrade. I'm really curious to see more on this car!

We have twin turbos too!! I wanted one but went with a Touareg cause tows my 24ft race trailer😂 will be ordering some delete parts shortly :)

Currently have a 2012 x5 diesel in American. Doing stage 2 turbos, r90 cp3, bigger injector nozzles, intercooler, catch can and a few more goodies. At this point I don’t need to start breaking T cases, axels and driveshafts, so I’ll probably end up rwd converting. I’m currently looking for a tune and I’m not sure what stage to go for. Anyone have ideas what the awd system can hold for torque?

How much does something like this cost to upgrade to this?
My 2015 bmw x5 xdrive35d is also US spec as I'm in Canada. So far I got the delete and stage 2 malone tune, Makes about 335hp and 545lb-ft. What would your recommendation be for the next step? Just did 1/4 mile last night at the track in 13.995 seconds.

Not really something we look at when tuning but it would still be pretty decent mpg for a fast SUV

The US spec models have single turbo where as the European market got twin

Exactly, it's like it hits a wall
Remember it is a diesel, doesn't get that higher end power as gas engines, plus the aerodynamic on a large vehicle needs even more power at high speeds. Seems pretty right ✅️

If he's stationed in Germany, wouldn't he have been better off buying a German car in Germany? Rather than buying an exported one then shipping it back half way round the world?

FWIW - the US military is the one that pays the bill to ship members cars around the world and back to the states. (Old post, but thought it was worth the comment for anyone that might come across it)
