This got played on Triple J this afternoon. After about 20 years it still takes me back to late 90s early 2000s. Pushing 50 and I was singing it at the top of my lungs in the car.
I watched Jebediah in a small pub in Perth around 2000-2001 with my friends. We stand in front of them because it's a small stage. Was awesome. After that I bought Jebediah's several cds. Still have till now.
I love this music. Jebediah are not trying to sound American, f-ing superb. Genuine Aussie sound from genuine Aussie guys. Great job fella's. We have some hard years coming Australia. Our very identity, our very existence is under threat. I can honestly say that I'm in a strong position to push this back and I intend to do just that. I'm going to "F" it off like a genuine "old school" Canberra High student. I will not let you down Australia...
My bestie friend at the time Liz got me on to this song way back when... I can't help think of her when I here this song... I haven't seen her in 23 years
Claim to rock and roll fame was I was in an intro to a Jebediah DVD chatting with the interviewer at the Annandale Hotel before one of their gigs. Since then the legendary Annandale has moved on but hey all those of us who rocked out there will hold it in our hearts forever.
I remember seeing Jebediah and Something for Kate at the corner.. Jebs played Captain and Something for Kate played Harpoon... Was a awesome show... Good times..
Wow, haven't heard this in over a decade. What a time to be alive when slightly odd way came out. I was a 16/17 year old in high school in country Australia and loved these songs. I didn't have many CDS but this was one of them. I miss those days. Jebediah, regurgitator, killing heidi, the living end! Australia had such amazing music talents.
This was always my fav Jebediah song..... takes me back to LIVID 97 when I was like 21, omg best year of my life haha.... non stop 21st parties n festivals. I had the biggest crush on Vanessa, though also Sarah from The SuperJesus, So many cool chicks were just rocking it back then.
Nah Yeah this brings back some good feels. Pumped this silly on lunchbreaks back in high school 10 years ago. . . Wow that was the first time I've ever said " 10 years ago" . . . Sigh
When 1990 became 30 years ago I had to admit to myself I'm no spring chicken. In the 90's I would reminiscent about the songs that were ten years old from my school days.
I remember getting my license on my 17th birthday at 7:00am. Then proceeded to drive around aimlessly for the next 6hrs with this song more on less on repeat 😂

I played this song at my best mates funeral. Cuts deep.
RIP Matthew Boris
I'm sorry you lost your best mate. Beautiful song for a send off. It hurts even without the lyrics.
One of the most beautiful timeless songs to ever come out of Australia. Lovely to have it pop up in to my TH-cam feed again!

Australia is already too far down a certain path to ever bring it back on course.

Spare a thought for those of us who have to say "25 years ago" when talking about listening to this in high school...
