I was thinking about when Francis was talking about fireflies. He said how mary was always worried they wouldn't come. (She was worried she would never have an heir.) He also talked about how when the fireflies didn't come she would cry. (The loss of her child) And he also said that the best part of there experience with the fireflies was the waiting. (The waiting for a child.) The whole firefly thing was a beautiful metaphor that they put in there.
This scene is so, so beautiful. Such a tremendously thoughtful and caring thing for Francis to do for Mary. I loved his character so much. Not a perfect man, but a good man with a big heart and an endless amount of love for Mary.
I think Frary was the only time a ship existed and people weren’t on different sides when it came to their relationship, everyone loved Frary, almost everyone hated when Conde came into the show and broke them apart and everyone definitely cried when Francis died and it was over
