I love Mary's character in this show. She shows such a strong and dutiful personality as queen but at the same time she depends on Francis and her friends to keep her going. This makes her character very interesting to watch on the series and shows different sides to her and how quickly she can flick between them.

Mary returned at a time when the Protestant Reformation was taking place. The Earl of Mar protected her & allowed her to take Mass. If she would have conformed, she could have kept her crown. But she persisted and her half brother plotted against her. The Earl of Morey or Mary's half brother's, grandfather was the Earl of Mar. He tried to keep peace between them. But I think the Earl of Morey is the one who had her husband killed and planted evidence on her new lover the Earl of Bothwell.
@@earlofmar7987 Morey wasn't in Scotland when Darnley was murdered. He most likely knew of the plot, but left Scotland so he wouldn't be blamed. Also, if the nobles knew about Mary's alleged affair with Bothwell, they wouldn't have kept it a secret. There's is little proof that hasn't been debunked already that proves that Mary was having an affair tbh

It wasn’t “Men” it was the Nobles. The Scottish Hated Her, The English Hated her, And so did the French. The problem was She Was the Queen of Scotland, Consort of France, And The 1st Heir to Scotland. She Had 1 choice and it was to trust the Nobles/Subjects.

Talk about empowerment of women! I know, that it is also heartbreaking, but it makes me want to be as strong and as powerful as Mary! I feel like I could reign right now! Her power was as fragile as a melting ice. Quickly melting one. Reign made her stronger, but in the end she had sad fate as in real history.

That was one of the most empowered, badass line I have witnessed. The delivery was chilling and the editing for it to be delivered during a beat drop... You've got so much talent.

Even tho Mary was killed by Elizabeth... I have always admired her for her strength, beauty, and courage. She had so much going against her, yet still stayed true to her duty which is why her son ended up inheriting both the kingdoms of England and Scotland. Besides Elizabeth herself, Katherine of Aragon, and Elizabeth Woodville...Margaret of Anjou too, she is one of my fav British monarchs.

Very powerful. Fantastic editing, loved all the quotes you chose, and how you didn't focus too much on her rape, but more on her character as a whole. It's easy to focus on one horrific act, but that doesn't make a person.

My word, that was powerful - fantastic video! Adelaide Kane is, by far, the best choice they could have ever asked for in a period piece like this and you've represented her so well, as has the crew in charge of the show.
It is my hope that more shows like this are made with broader horizons and that one day soon, videos like this will be made honoring the actresses/characters of the ever-forgotten demographic; that one day the members of such will see representations of themselves in such light and strength (as opposed to the usual programming of hating their hair, skin and eyes), and will no longer quake inside with the bitter sadness that comes with being forced to be invisible. I look forward to that future and videos like this are very inspiring. Thank you for uploading it. :)

I can't stop watching this series. It's so well done. Not 100% historically accurate but so entertaining and professionally portrait characters. I've watched the whole 4 seasons 4 times. Costumes are breathtakingly beautiful as is the jewellery worn by the ladies. I love Reign!!!

I loved Mary and Francis. But I also really enjoyed that she seemed to get even stronger after he died. Her life, in this series, had a lot of pain in it but she persevered and fought for what she wanted. Beautifully, after a life of struggle and much of it on her own, in the end she found much needed peace in heaven with him.

This is so utterly amazing
Mary may have died at the end but she died for a reason she protected her Reign and her child. She was incredibly strong and did so many things for her country. Elizabeth stayed inside her castle, Mary fought her own battles. Mary died as a warrior. She may of got caught for killing her husband but she saved Scotland. It's heartbreaking but atleast at the end she got to see Francis again.
