I was like whats going on with the guitar parts. It's the worst version of Big River I have heard. Johnny Cash did his part to perfection but the band behind him I will say they were terrible.

According to Johnny Cash he and Keith Richards were completely lost during the performance, but Johnny looked back on it with humor later.

John Fogerty's solo seems to be quite acceptable but it's not easy to distinguish it very well among all those horrible guitar sounds behind. I didn't like Richards' solo in the least either.
John Fogerty looks very handsome here. He looks hotter here than he did when he performed with CCR. Who agrees? Here at this rock and roll hall of fame ceremony Mr. Fogerty is a polite gentleman. I find that to be sexually arousing. Johnny Cash fans who are reading this must forgive me for my non sequitur. If they are annoyed by it, can they please provide a link to another video in which handsome John Fogerty is dressed formally? If not, how about a photo? Could of tossed all those guitar players aside with Bob Wootton playing the Perkins part.....Cash songs need Tennessee Three backing...and to bad Cash had a hard time singing the song in E he needed the old capo and the key of F very plain to hear....
Well, if you are a good musician, then first, you must have heard Big River before and figured out its chord pattern, and second you wouldn't need rehearsal to play it at least decently. But this is only showing off and wrecking the song.

He always played this in E. He'd have a capo at the 2nd fret and play D, E, G, A7 and F chords (in key).
