My dad was from Scotty Road, and when the foundations were being blasted for the Catholic Cathederal (Paddy's wigwam), my dad signwrote the signs for the company that blasted the foundations. He also signwrote most of the advertising boards down the dock road (including a portrait of my mum and sister on a bus Lol).
Did she actually go to Liverpool to film this? It seems to be made up entirely of clips from earlier films in the BBC Archive. FYI: I'll be doing one on Punta Arenas soon.
I'm Scottish but my Mum was a Scouser. She sadly passed away last year aged 84 . She was born in the Scottie road area .She married my Dad ( he was Scottish ) in the mid 1960' s and lived in Scotland ever since . She really missed Liverpool though . We ( My Mum, Dad ,brother and I ) often visited relatives in Liverpool though years ago whilst they ( the relatives ) were still alive .

Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"

A government whose only "policy" is hatred of immigrants, a hatred fanned by all media, and which is popular enough among the xenophobic electorate to inevitably win the next election for the Conservatives? And a country where total strangers regularly, openly and loudly express disgust at seeing myself, a white man, married to a black woman? (Although, to be fair, black people whom we encounter are just as racist as whites in this regard.)
