Just graduated from the nurse aide program. Now what do you think I should do first,get a job as a nurse aide or take the exam to be certified. Which should I do first ? Thnx
Lala Collins congratulations! 🎉 what i did was at the end of my program before i took my state test i started applying for cna jobs. all i did was tell them i will be taking my state test soon. and usually what they will say is once you pass, come back and give me your results/certification. but you can definitely start applying while you’re waiting to take your exams!
Congrats! It’s a really great job and very rewarding. Having a positive attitude at work is my biggest advice because I know I work a lot better when I’m happy. Try to build a relationship with your patients and always ask for help if you need it y’all are a team and should be helping each other. And if you’re forgetfully sometimes like me I like to write down the patients and what u need to do for them. Hopefully that helps. If you have anymore questions at all let me know. ❤️

every place is different for me i worked morning shift on a 4/2 schedule; there was no pay differential, but maybe if you work night shift there is. i know usually at jobs you get a little more for working nights.
For my orientation you do not have to. Again, like a lot of people have been saying, it ALL depends on where you are employed. I will be wearing business-casual clothing to my first two days of orientation, and only after orientation will I have to start wearing my scrubs. Every place is different. Hope this helps!
it’s mostly just paperwork where you fill out your information. (name, address,etc.) and also sometimes they might give you quizzes on what you discussed. there’s lots of packets to go over too where you have to give your signature.

my orientation was 3 days so they did it the last day but I guess it will depend on where you’re gonna be working.
