Dude I literally texted my friend (the one who got me to watch jojo) after I finished the first episode "THIS IS WHERE THE TO BE CONTINUED MEME COMES FROM?!"
I mean, for some reason I remember the Blu Ray one even though I’m quite sure that I watched the TV version. Maybe it’s because it’s closer to the art style for this part as a whole.
The original is more simplified but conveys Shinobu's personality after meeting Kira far better, while also being much cuter in my opinion. The redraw is more detailed, but looks far too harsh. It suggests more of her earlier personality, when her husband had no time for her and she was bitter about it.

I just want to mention here that it is NOT the animators who screwed up here. They are responsible for animating the given character design and it is clear that the old character sheet must have looked very similar to the first version which changed later on.
