Thank you sir Please its required to take signs for direction like +response function in X direction and - response function in X direction and same for y. if we use 100+30 rule the sign of directions are also necessary or no especially if the structure note regualr for example 100 spec x +0.3 spec y 100 spec x - 0.3 spec y -100 spec x + 0.3 spec y -100 spec x - 0.3 spec y and same above for 100 in y direction and 30 for x direction.
Thanks a lot professor. I have a small question. In 9:24 you illustrated 3 different diagrams for displacement-time and then you took the maximum values to compose the displacement response spectrum, my question is: are the 3 different diagrams represent 3 different structures ??
Dear Husain, Yes, all three diagrams are of 3 different structures. As you can see that all of them have different time period, i.e. combination of mass and stiffness is leading to 3 distinct timer period, hence all of them are 3 different structure. Wish you all the best. regards, SD Team
It is because time period on X axis taken as 0.01 s. Hence for T=0.01 s, there is a response. If you take T=0.00s, the structure will not respond for any ground motion. I hope it is clear to you.
in the end of the tutorial, you mentioned the type of soil ....how it will play a role in the effect of PSA
Thanks for your effort
Concept of response spectrum explained in very simple way
LOVE YOU SIR AND YOUR EXPLANATIONS
excellent explanation.... Thank you Sir...

Response spectrum in a crystal clear way
I really appreciate..!! Thank You very much, GOD Bless..
What is the unit of mass - kg or Newton? Whether weight 2000kg should be converted to mass while calculating angular frequency?
Thank you..Very good one

Thanks sir
I believe that the units in your example calculation of base shear should be amended to be in Nm or revised to read 23.544 kNm.
Thank you
Sir, is fundamental natural period effect number of bays of building or not
Code bases design spectrum is mean of tripartite plot of different eq or just mean of acceleration response spectrum?
Sir ,why spectral acceleration graph is not start from zero value ,rater than 0.5 in case of acceleration response of El Centro case

@@rajaram8491 many Many Thank you sir
Thanks alot
great explanation sir.
how do we derive the soil type affect of PSA in the graph you show at the end of video?
Sir is it possible to calculate frequency for G+4 building to analyse the building by response spectrum method.
It is possible to calculate using modal analysis
Why seismic analysis comes under the category of static analysis and response spectrum analysis comes under the category of dynamic analysis???
Seismic analysis procedure mentioned in IS1893 is quasi-static analysis.
please provide this ppt.
Thank you so much
Thank you, Wish you all the best.
