Group possible You May also need HDMI to DP port cable & HDMI cables (depending on how many screens you use). This works fine to go with a laptop or PC.

Would you say there are any minimum spec requirements for a laptop to be able to comfortably run the additional screens? The docking station works for most laptops, you can buy a laptop that best suits your budget to go with the screens you have. And remember to install the drivers from the dell website.
Thanks for sharing. Does the USB on the laptop have to be 3.0? Also I have a bank corporate laptop so they think I have admin rights to install drives. Does that mean I won’t be able to use the dock?
This will need to be USB 3.0.

Hi, I'm from Panama. I want to ask you about the type of port of the laptop where you connect to the dell dock. I have a hp laptop that has a type-c port, but only for data, not for displayPort. I have 2 monitors and I can only project through the HDMI output. Greetings.
The dell dock has a type C & USB cable coming out of it to plug into the laptop.

2x display ports, 1x HDMI port, you could use the HDMI ports on your laptop / PC also for extra screens. I haven’t noticed any lag.
Is that USB port a normal 3/2 type or does it have any special properties?

Hi there.
Ihave a Dell laptop with HDMI and VGA outputs, as well as USB-C with Video capabilities.
I just connected one 28" 4k scrren to the USB-C with a USB-c to HDMI adapter (4k enabled) and connected another 28" 4K monitor to the HDMI out.
But now, if I want to connect VGA it doesn't recognize.
I would like to have 2x FULL HD + 2x4K on this machine.
Can that adapter you show here suppport another monitor besides those two?

I have been able to add 3 screens to my dell laptop by using the dell dock d6000 ( to display ports on the dell dock and the 3rd screen into the hdmi port on the laptop) I believe dell do other dell dock modules that may suit your needs better then is one.

Im not familiar with docking stations so I got a fundamental question on it's functions.
I normally use a desktop pc with 2 monitors. both are linked to the pc tower. If I want to use these screens for the desktop pc AND the laptop is there any possibility to get this to work with a docking station?
e.g. the dektop pc is turned off and i want to use the two screen with the laptop withouth unplugging them.
You can use this dell dock for PC and Laptop but you will need to move the one USB cable from PC to Laptop and have the monitors plugged into the Display ports of the dell dock

I have two screens two hdmi cables i can connect and see one screen but can’t connect the other and there’s only one hdmi option on the display port, so I’m guessing I need another cable but I’m not sure which one
The cable already comes out of the dell dock, it allows you to use a USB or USB-C end into the laptop (the cable is already attached to the dell dock)

I have one of these but I really wanted to use it as a KVM switch between my laptop and my PC tower as I'm working from home and once I've finished a job on my work laptop, I want my monitors to switch over to my personal PC tower so I can do some personal stuff in between jobs. I tried taking the the display USB out of the laptop and plugging it into one of the USB's in my computer but it didn't work.
Did you check it was a 3.0 USB port on your PC?
Make sure it isn’t a 2.0 USB port, I don’t have a PC to try it but I have one on order atm

You still have the laptop powered by a lead. Does the USB-A adapter provide power to the laptop? If you had a USB-A 3.0 with Power Share on your laptop would it then provide power to the laptop?

I have 2 monitors and a tablet that connects to the doc. However my two monitors both show the same thing. What can I do to change it so that one monitor is linked to the tablet and the other on its own.

I have the same setup with you. 1 laptop and 2 monitors and a dell docking station. How do i use the 2 monitors only and my laptop is turned down? Every time i do that all screens are turning off.
Unfortunately I haven’t found a way to close the laptop without the screens turning black
on connecting 2 monitors....will i face any issues while gaming or productivity....like cpu load or anything or lag .... & sorry if i used any wrong terms....

I think just buy what monitor your can afford. The monitor brackets fit most monitors, the details of the monitor will say what size monitors fit the Brackets.
You could check if your laptop will allow you to have an hdmi to usb convertor and see if it’s possible to work but you will have to look into it if your not using a dell dock.

Monitors work, but causing crashing of computer. Must turn off Hardware acceleration to stream videos on chrome to use this set up too. Crashing is CONSISTENT, every 5-10 minutes of using the computer while D6000 is plugged in and 3 external monitors are running. Netflix and other streaming platforms just blackscreen instead of showing videos unless you turn off hardware acceleration. Will update if I can find the fix for the crashing.

I hahe bought a “usb c to hdmi cable to connect 2 monitors to my laptop and extend them, but only one monitor goes on and connects with my laptop, and that’s the monitor which is connect with the normaal HDMI port/cable. The other monitor with the usb to hdmi cable won’t connect with the monitor, there’s no signal. What driver do I need to instal for this or how can I fix this?

I have this docking station! I tried to plug in 3 monitors into the hub, (1 HDMI, 2 Display Ports), but when I plug in one display port, the other one stops working and only 2 screens can show up at a time. Is there any fix to this?
You can use two display ports on the dell dock and then plug your third screen into your hdmi port on the laptop. That way you will have 3 screens plus your laptop screen making 4 screens

Are you saying you have one hdmi port to one monitor which works and a display port on your laptop that doesn’t work?

Pwinkle R yep. Im trying to connect 2 dell P2419H monitors to my dell laptop without using dell dock. Our company gave me a dell displayport male to male that I thought to use in connecting 2 monitors to my laptop. I was able to connect 1 monitor using hdmi cable but not with the other monitor.
I use the dell dock but I’m looking to see if you can use a USB to HDMI Adapter to add a second screen ( I imagine you would also install drivers to do this). This is something you would have to look into for a cheaper option
The problem is the settings and blurry images. I had to switch my primary screen to my highest resolution screen and then reorder secondary screens

Plug the 3rd screen with the hdmi into the hdmi port on the laptop and the other two screens plug into the DP ports on the dell dock
