Have a blast in Italy! As anywhere in the world, be cautious in larger cities, especially Rome, when parking the van. We've camped outside of larger cities and then taken public transportation into the city center.
I had to travel down there almost a year ago, and I must say I have never felt so scared driving as on the French Riviera. It's beautiful, but you feel that the cars behind you can push you over the cliff in a heartbeat.
Curt is looking again so cheerful and outspoken that gives me the reassurance that Snow is fine and fully recovered from her flu. Keep on doing this brilliant work, guys!!
You hit the bullseye Snow with the accompanying music about money. The South of France does everything it can to make it as difficult as possible for van travellers. They want to "reserve" it for the elites, rich and famous. Such a shame. It used to be one of the most pleasant places to be when I was young in the 70ties and 80ties.
I also saw a lot of very nice resting spots with restaurants, bathrooms, playgrounds, etc, in German roads. I travelled a few thousand km in European roads, twice, and generally avoided larger cities. When the time came to visit Rome I opted to leave the car safely parked in a smaller town and took the train.
Yes but I missed out on getting a stamp in my passport for each country we entered. A bit of a let down. Yet each country does have its own laws on what needs to be in the vehicle and many require you buy a sticker to pay for road taxes.
Your videos are so enlightening and exciting. I look forward to each and every one of them and cannot wait to SMASH the thumbs up! I always feel like I’m going on a National Geographic adventure with you guys. The lights in Monaco and the sunset pictures are stunning!
Monaco has the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. The closest to that was in Carmel CA. I had to go back to watch it again. The colors so rich and soft I could drink that up forever! WOW
Thank you Curt and Snow for taking us to that enjoyable tour of Monaco. My favorite part was the Sunset! What a magnificent sight ❤ I will be awaiting your next adventure! Take good care folks!
You guys must come to Portugal, here you will find lots of camping sites and amazing friendly people. As far as tunnels, if you pass through the San Sebastian region in Spain / Basque Country area, you will definitely see much more tunnels. Last time I went driving there, on my way to France, I stopped counting at 80 tunnels in a 2 hours drive.
Portugal was by far, the one place I felt like I had lived there in another life. It is absolutely beautiful and I was treated by everyone I met, like I WAS a part of their families. It breaks my heart that I will never walk those streets, watch the largest surfing wave or be inside a palace that doesn't have any equals , nor will I breathe that air again. I hope, when I do leave this life, that I will have a chance once again to be where I once belonged. ❤
I agree with others. Park outside the bigger cities and take the train. For example, Rome, Florence, Milan, Venice etc. Even a place like Siena you could park one train station away and then take the train in.
Spectacular pics of Monaco! That may be the best pics I’ve ever seen of the country and I finally understand its size. I enjoyed this video very much🎉❤
As a Brazilian I remember our Airton Senna racing the streets of Monaco on Formula 1, we called him the king of Monaco since he beat every record in that tight street race track. Good times.
Australia is so welcoming and incredible you need at least 2 years to see all the amazing adventures. We are 2 yrs in and haven't even done the south yet.
Good morning Snow and Curt 🌞 So awesome to see the sunshine and what a beautiful sunset! Wow, I heard that the tolls were a bit expensive in France, but that's scary. Good thing you're saving some money on your free campsites. Especially if you planned on spending any time in the Monte Carlo casinos. Don't bet the house. See you in Italy. Safe travels, 🤗🇨🇦
I love France passionately. Every time I go visit my grandparents in Austria, I will take a long stopover in France. Seeing your videos there made me nostalgic. But today particularly that baguette sandwich pushed me over the top and I had to do the same. Very French like I had baguette, butter and just black coffee for lunch. Yeah, very soon I have to go pay a visit to France and enjoy their lifestyle. I loved all your South American videos but somehow your European are turning out to be even better.
Loved the views of Monaco at night! Y’all had the best views from a rest stop 😊 I love watching the cars on the street and the lights from the homes and businesses and then the water view! Just epic. I could have stayed there a few days watching the sunrises and sunsets, the water the people and cars. Just beautiful and I thank you both so much for sharing your travels with me and all of us that wait and pins and needles! Thank you 😊 😊

Hi guys. Great videos as always. I live in England and travel extensively around Europe. It is increasingly becoming very expensive and very unsafe in any way. Pre pandemic, my area in london was one of the safest places you could live. Now, not a day goes by without a house being broken in or a car being stolen from the driveways. I will definitely rethink about my retirement living plan in a few years. Santa Catarina in Brazil is really calling me very loudly. Good weather, amazing beaches and mountains, excellent value for money and it doesn’t give me the unsecured feeling that I experience in Europe right now. Anyway, enough moaning. Good travels, be safe and super enjoy the best of it all in Italy.

Thank you for sharing. Interesting video, enjoyed hearing your commentary esp on parking and safety. Unfortunately the beautiful coasts are more expensive because everyone wants to visit. Take care, appreciate all your videos!
What a challenging drive. I was so thrilled to be a sightseer on this adventure. You are so right about the puzzling lifestyle of the rich and famous living in such a compact area. Maybe because they all have Drivers to get them to their yachts. Oh! And please stay safe!! You need to be able to sleep in peace. Now onto Italy! Thank you always.
What a beautiful day. Omg ! To be parked right on top of Monaco, and that sunset was epic! Thank you guys so much for all you do and for sharing it with us.
That's funny about the Riviera. I hitch hiked all over Europe in the early 70's and Israel, but it was only once, and in the Riviera, that I was robbed. I woke up in the passenger seat of a car with an older little man who was driving me, and noticed my purse was in a different location, but said bye as he let me out, then realized my money was gone. (Hitchhiking was pretty normal back in those days.)
New to your videos and really enjoy them! I believe that the tolls take into account your possible speeding? The more expensive they are, maybe you were above the speed limit? A lorry driver told me this when I was charged a fortune through the tolls in France one year! Al the best! 🇬🇧
I agree with the height restrictions on the parking. I'm a disabled traveller, We've travelled down that way before and found I needed my mobility scooter to get out and about in but there are some campsites near the coast but you'd need to use either bikes or ubers to get into the main towns. Wow you're sure not in Patagonia anymore! Nice move using that truck as a blocker while navigating Monaco like a running back. What wonderful views from that roadside park. Thanks for being brave enough to go thru those twisting streets.
At driving school when I was stuck behind a truck I would look behind to see that there was no traffic coming in the left lane and then put my signal. The teacher said no, just put your blinker. Very polite when merging on freeways, you are supposed to facilitate others merging.
Hello Snow Hello Curt, happy you guys are back to your regular selves and feeling strong again from that sickness. Thank you guys so very very much for the beautiful tour around Monaco and peek of Italy. Both of you are such amazing people/friends/family, I love you guys. Please be very careful with your surroundings and wherever you park to stay over night, I just get afraid for bad things to happen to good sweet people like you guys. Guys stay safe - warm and healthy. Please kiss the kitties for me. Anxiously waiting for your new video. 🙏🥰♥️
Gosh, love you both so much. And it’s always a delight to see the kitties having a great time. For all its acclaim, Monaco is kind of soulless. Very congested, not very green, extremely regulated, and the playground for rich dudes with gold plated cars from Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and the like. But as always, I’m glued to the screen when you make a move. I think you’ll enjoy Italy a lot, very friendly and great food. But lots of crime in many areas, you will have to be extremely careful. Never both be out of the van and always double lock everything. You know, you’re both wise and experienced travelers.
@@rudfilthe thing is, when you’re on your own home turf, you know who the bad guys are. When you’re away, you may not be able to discern them quickly enough.
You braved Monaco driving in the van, amazing. We had a rental car and it was so much fun however so confusing. Lovely trip with reminders of my recent trip. Thank you, I just relived a beautiful memory.
Another great post, guys. Took me back forty years when I was last in Monaco. It was possible you drove into Monaco along the same route Princess Grace (Grace Kelly) met her untimely end in 1982.
Thank you for sharing your life journey with us,so enjoyable glad your both staying safe ,ame in a van also has a you tube channel and has done France and Italy etc if you watch other you tubers would recommend for ideas on places to stay , Monaco is stunning thank you so much for sharing, your cats are beautiful love watching from AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺
I would have loved to see you meet the lovely Ame in a Van, her parents also live in their conversion and they're often around in the south of France. Ame loves the French Riviera, she could have given you pointers on where/how to park for free, she knows the tricks and she's often alone! 🤔🤗❤️
Road signs in France are also wonderful. Tell you famous sites, historical figures that you can find at different exits from highways. Not ugly billboards.
You'll get toll roads on most 'freeways' in Italy too. I went to Paris once, beautiful and interesting, but the people were so rude - restaurants, buses, subway, etc. Out in the rural areas the locals are friendlier.
I’ve been living here for 2 years, 95% of my friends are fellow expats. I don’t feel like settling here that’s a shame, such a beautiful region such ugly mentality
The height of your motorhome is adding to the cost of your tolls on the French motorways, anything over 3 metres in height is class 3 which adds considerably to the toll. This is why many European motorhomes are less than 3M in height keeping them in class 2.
Hello! There you are! I lost track of you when my old I pad couldn’t keep up with the newUTube update🙄 I kept forgetting to look you up ,but look at how far you’ve traveled 😄I just finished the Christmas market series. I’ll try to keep up after a little binge🚐
You really missed out on France, the atlantic coast lines are so rough and great and lots of space for a big car. You should have started at the other ocean :-) We are going by car this pre summer until atlantic Spain. Is such a great nature trip. France has paid roads but they also have non paid roads, its how much time you have to drive through. ps the Riviera of France is one of the most expensive parts in France its not like that everywhere.
We will be back to France... We will see it all! But, we only have 90 days in the Schengen zone, so we are headed to eastern Europe to pop out for 90 days. It's called the Schengen Shuffle and it is a pain, but it's what we have to do as non EU citizens 😊 we will zig zag across the continent many times over the next three years!

Hey! Everywhere there is a crime! We are Asian and living in almost 20yrs here in Marseille without hassle, many migrants decided to live here because we felt equal and respect each other. But seriously, that was an amazing drive, thanks for sharing that, little ole me would never be able to see these beautiful countries, hugs and kisses to you for sharing this with us. Oh and of course hugs and kisses to you sweet kitties, I love how you make sure they are happy whenever they go, I would do the same with mine, in fact just a short story if you have time. I never had kitties growing up and not as an adult, it was always dogs, and I am 65 now, but 5 years ago I was divorced and living in an apartment, a friend found 3 kittens in his barn and asked me to find a home for them because he couldn’t find the mom, my vet said they were about 4 weeks old, I had no idea how to take care of cats, they have a whole different personality than dogs , and I wasn’t supposed to have animals in my apartment, so I had to keep them hid. I fell in love with these little ones, I looked for homes for them but when it came time to part with them I couldn’t do it 😭, so I soon searched for a house where they would be happy running up and down stairs and looking out windows, they even have a grassy area that is fenced in to lay in the grass in the summer and chew on the blades. I know how you must love your kitties ❤❤. Thanks for you time, see you soon in Italy!!!! 😊😊😊😊 Your friend from Michigan, Susie

Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks again for your adventure I loved the sunset wow
The crime isn’t as bad as in Florida so. . . ; )
Happy to share the journey with you 🚐😊
@@rudfilthe thing is, when you’re on your own home turf, you know who the bad guys are. When you’re away, you may not be able to discern them quickly enough.
You braved Monaco driving in the van, amazing. We had a rental car and it was so much fun however so confusing. Lovely trip with reminders of my recent trip. Thank you, I just relived a beautiful memory.
Thanks for driving Monaco…. Never would have seen this otherwise😊
Another great post, guys. Took me back forty years when I was last in Monaco. It was possible you drove into Monaco along the same route Princess Grace (Grace Kelly) met her untimely end in 1982.
Wow that was really fun! Nice driving Curt! Can’t wait for Italian adventures!
Coming soon!
My little boy and I absolutely love your videos thanks for taking us with you.
Loved the sunset!!! And cit lights!
Thank you! Will do!
I would have loved to see you meet the lovely Ame in a Van, her parents also live in their conversion and they're often around in the south of France. Ame loves the French Riviera, she could have given you pointers on where/how to park for free, she knows the tricks and she's often alone! 🤔🤗❤️
That was a really good video of Monaco. Loved it!
Wow. Thanks for braving the roads of Monaco! Onwards and upwards!! ❤
Just came across your TH-cam channel . Really enjoyed it. It's like watching a traveling channel. Your videos are so well made.
Thank you so much! Welcome to the channel 😀
Yes ❤️
On the french riviera people are super unwelcoming. I’ve been living here for 6 years : not 1 friend. I’m french
We knew we were "class 3" but we thought it was a weight thing. Thanks for the info!
@@SnowAndCurt hm oh the dreaded Shengen. I am The Netherlands, if I can be of assistence to you 2 contact me. I am above 50 btw lol ;-) You are always welcome over here in The Netherlands.
The roads in France are fabulous-you pay for it but they deliver.
They are good roads for sure.
I absolutely loved Monaco. Such an interesting country
Happy to share the journey with you 😊
Woo Hoo! 3 countries in one video! Gotta love Europe. We may take our first trip across the pond this fall, from BC Canada.
Monaco is easily walkable from the train station. I have best memories swimming in the Mediterranean from the piers . The aquarium and green areas are also great. Cafes also have great food that is affordable.
Walk Monaco! It’s an amazing place to visit for a day or two.
Be careful, Marseille area is high crime.
Did you watch the video?
@@conchscooter Awesome! Couldn't have said it better 😅.
Downtown Marseille is dirty and scary. We did Med cruise and that was one of our ports.
Hey! Everywhere there is a crime! We are Asian and living in almost 20yrs here in Marseille without hassle, many migrants decided to live here because we felt equal and respect each other. Crime if you have involved in drugs yes but if you live decent you can live here in peace. About cleanliness I could say there are some part of dirty place. I toured in Italy, London and Canada and I choose Marseille in clean matter.
I love that your cats get to go out and explore!
When youre done with Europe come to Cape Town South Africa we would love to welcome you here and it is beautiful and we have the most beautiful caravan parks with all the amenities to make your stay wonderful and then you can take some safaris and that will take you over the edge comfort and luxury in the African bush among the stars and variety of animals. Safe travels
That Monaco sunset was gorgeous! And the rest area was beautiful! Looked almost like a very nice RV Park! I was impressed. And the view of Monaco from up there was stunning!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Safe travels!! Hopefully you guys get to see some castles!!!😍
Definitely!!
Bloody hell that looks amazing, the weather in the U.K. is horrendous at the moment, if I was there I’d never leave 😊
Just when I think you couldn’t show us anything more spectacular, you come up with another 😮😮😮😮 OMG!!!! Monaco 😊😊😊 mmm, mmm,’mmm, how beautiful, I could live on one of those yacht’s, maybe if we pool all our money together lol.
Your friend from Michigan, Susie
Thanks for showing Monaco 🇲🇨 very cool 😎
