    Thanks, loved the video.
    I still have a question tho :
    I edited a maximo pose in Blender, I want to export this new pose to CLO3D, however, when I export to FBX, it cancels my transformations.
    Concerning the avatar, I found that while "Applying visual geometry to mesh" now it stays in the transformed position even when exporting to FBX.
    But concerning the bones, they still cancel their transformation when I save even while applying everything in object mode and "applying visual transform to this pose" in pose mode.
    Any idea?
    Thanks a lot, I spent my day looking for a solution that I hadn't found yet.

    • @nicoleholtan3d
      @nicoleholtan3d  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hmm have you tried "applying transformations" after you finishing editing the avatar? If you edit anything with the joints in blender it will revert back to the way it was unless you lock it in by applying transformation. You can also try exporting as an .OBJ? That will remove the avatar's rig, but it will lock in the pose you've created so you can bring it into clo as a whole object. Hope that helps!

    • @Tibiscuit_OW2
      @Tibiscuit_OW2 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nicoleholtan3dI don't find "apply transformations", do you talk about "apply ALL transformations" in object mode (so apply scale, rotation, location) Then no because if I apply scale I don't see my avatar anymore.
      Didn't try to export in OBJ. Good idea thanks!
      Today I managed to solve my problem while editing the mixamo pose in CLO. It is probably the easiest method, I didn't we could.
      Thanks a lot for your help!

    • @nicoleholtan3d
      @nicoleholtan3d  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Tibiscuit_OW2 great to hear!! Yep it should be called “apply transformations>all transformations (not only scale) I believe it’s in that same menu. So you want to basically select the entire avatar including the armature, and “apply” rotation, scale, everything after making edits. And yes you can edit your joints in clo too with the xray avatar toggle too so I’m glad you’ve got it :)

    If anyone has issues with the avatar not matching the clothes, make sure your frame rate in blender matches how you exported the avatar and clothing! Typically it’s 30 fps, sometimes blender likes to default to 25 fps.

You could be clicking a hot key accidently making it hidden? I am launching a new two part series next week called "The Complete Clo Interface" Which will cover every part of clo you need to know, if you are still learning the basic parts of clo or having issues with creating garments i'd recommend checking it out!

    Hi! Thank you for the instruction video, I appreciate you for taking us through the whole workflow!
    I am currently making a safety outfit in CLO. I want to animate in Blender. Some of the garments of the outfit will puff as an airbag during the animation. I'm curious how I could achieve this. Should I use the cloth simulation once I have the anmiation of an avatar with the garment exported from CLO to blender?

    • @nicoleholtan3d
      @nicoleholtan3d  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Yes I would record the animation in clo, and export it to blender once completed. I don’t know about simulating cloth in blender . To get the cloth “puffer” affect in clo, you have to create a layer clone of a pattern piece and then have the bottom layer have “negative pressure” and the top layer have “positive pressure”. Does that help?

      @@nicoleholtan3d Hey I've tried the animation, currently doing some tests atm, but do you know why the animation I play on Clo seems play faster? cheers

    • @nicoleholtan3d

      @@kyungseomin-qs2wo the animation playback speed in clo ranges from 1/2x to 8x but I usually keep it at 1. That button can be found by the playback buttons when in animation in clo. However it will import into blender at the speed of the Mixamo animation, so don’t worry about the playback speed in clo. Does that help?

  • @mariammchitarian4201
    @mariammchitarian4201 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    thank you for this tutorial! I have an issue that the alembic file appears to save in very big size (9GB!!), do you know how I can make it smaller? Because of this, my blender file is huge as well (700MB , even though I import it as 0,01m)... So my questions: how to make CLO exports smaller in general?

    • @nicoleholtan3d
      @nicoleholtan3d  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      hey! So you can choose the size you import it to blender as you did, but you can also export it at a smaller scale! When you export an .abc in clo you'll see the scale setting about halfway down the export menu, be default it might be m or or ft or something, but you could set it to cm or mm and test smaller settings!

    • @nicoleholtan3d
      @nicoleholtan3d  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Also you can try to optimize the overall size of the garment by increasing the particle distance in clo (reduces polygons) and delete any layers of fabric you don't need or cant see? That can help sometimes too just to try to optimize the clo file itself before recording the animation :)

    • @nicoleholtan3d
      @nicoleholtan3d  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hey! when you bring your avatar into clo, don't worry about textures or really any details that won't affect the clothing animation. Think of using the avatar simply to capture the clothing animation and nothing else. Then you can export the animated clothing only into a blender scene, and finally import your avatar with whatever additional details or textures you want. :)

    • @nicoleholtan3d
      @nicoleholtan3d  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hmm so when you bring an animated avatar into clo3D, i think it's always going to treat it as a single object. But it shouldn't matter if you are only using the avatar in clo to record the clothing animation. If your original avatar with the motion has shoes/hair as separate meshes, just import that one into your blender scene and then import your clothes separate. Hope that helps!

      When you bring the avatar into clo to record your animation, its best to keep the avatar low poly so only include anything that will affect the animation of the clothing (mainly the body or shoes). Anything texture related like make up or even hair/hats etc you can do separately to the avatar that you bring into blender. Then import your clothes to blender on top of your avatar with the details!
