ive been using illustrator for years... and never really used this method...after watching this video i created a few templates for some text styles i often use.. im glad i finally used this method it saves alot of time , love the fact u just can change the text and the effects stay the same
This is embarrassing to say, but until now, whenever I wanted to create a multi-layer piece of text, I would manually create the top layer, duplicate it, and then make the changes to layers beneath it... I'd align them, move them into position, and then group them. Whenever I needed to modify anything, I'd have to change the text in each and every layer, manually. (As you can imagine, hiding layers to modify the sometimes not-so-easy-to-read text was a chore.) THANK YOU for this amazing tutorial!
Spoon, have you ever figured out a good way to remove the jagged lines from using the transform tool to create the faux 3D effect? I know this would never really be seen unless close up in illustrator (also realise when imported to PS it gets converted to pixels anyway so the jagged lines don’t matter).
This is a really cool step. My issue is when I tried to recreate this effect on a shape like a star, the copies appeared jagged. Any tips on getting the copies to be smooth?
Nice video Spoon, thank you! Could you do a tutorial for automated actions in Illustrator ? I am export a lot of png's daily and it would really help me to speed up my process.
this video made me mad... ALL THAT THINGS JUST WITH THAT PANEL??? i will never know how to fully use any adobe software :') heck.......... thank you btw! great tutorial!!
How do you align a text on two paths? Please refer to logo on internet “islamic dawah council”... The text is inside a crescent shape while maintaining its base aligned to the outer crescent. Thanks.

Amazing what you can do with the "Appearance Panel." It doesn't stress you out with layers and everything is editable. Thank you for the tutorial.

I'll see what I can do! I actually haven't played with automation in Illustrator, but it has been really handy in Photoshop
Which monitor and processor you use?
When you showing a close up of this design, in the beggining and in the end, inside parts of OPEN is out of place a little)
