      it will eventually, all new RC cruises start out going to the Bahamas and Mexico, then they start going to other ports, the issue is because of its size, not all ports will permit it to dock, which makes certain countries impossible to cruise to on this ship.

    Amazed what a strong team of talented people can accomplish in such a short time.Given the size and complexity of this giant it's truly a marvel. Makes you wonder why it takes our government and their never ending inefficiency a decade to build a war ship. Maybe we should hire this ship yard to build our aircraft carriers. Looks like they would do a much better job. That's because business works and government doesn't.

They're basically opportunistic thieves and it's a culture not an individualistic thing, so it doesn't change the outcome by ousting the people, the "culture and institutions" have to change.

    The welding alone is an environmental catastrophe, and running on LNG isn't going to save much in CO2 emissions, when you take into account the extra weight

    I don't know if I should like this in the world of travel or not. I am an old fashion traveler. I am afraid that time has passed me by! I travel cheap. I travel solo & I travel on my own schedule. I am afraid this is not for me!! It is however an ichon to man's imagination & achievement!! One cannot deny that!!!!

      Agreed - No desire whatsoever to sail on this Ship - All the cruise Guru’s will tell you to avoid the Mega Ships, Cheaper, but such a diminished cruise experience, especially for those who cruise for the experience and destination - I certainly would not go on a cruise ship, that has a water park 😂😂😂 seems like this ship is more oriented to families with young children, so No Thanks !!!

    Although my wife & I are platinum-level cruisers and love to cruise, I’ll take a hard pass on this ship, and any ship that accommodates more than 3K guests.

      @@joesipr The guest capacity is 3X bigger but the ship is less than 2X larger. And the cruise terminal, port of call terminals and port destinations all remain the same size. A hard pass for me.

      @@mikatu Been on more than 25 cruises in the US, Singapore and Australia, so I think I’m reasonably qualified to judge ship capacity. On the other hand, basically you don’t understand the capacity of most passenger ships (riverboats - approx 500 max) and the majority of Carnival / Royal Caribbean / Celebrity / Holland America / Norwegian fleets have capacity below 3K passengers. You can now consider yourself incrementally more educated.

    It looks ugly and overcrowded, even without people on it. And, as many (many) many other cruise ships, the bigger they are, when there is a problem (disease, fire, storm, etc.) the more are trapped into a gigantic mouse trap.

      Yep. It is worse than that, you're ruining the planet if you exhale CO2. When they say they want "green" hydrogen, it is laughable.. plants need CO2 to stay green. Being "carbon neutral" means they want to get rid of all carbon based life forms, which is all life on Earth.

    One small correction. This will not be the first cruise ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). That would be Carnival Corporation's AIDAnova. And not even the first one based in the US, that would be Carnival's Mardi Gras. It will however be Royal Caribbean's first LNG powered ship I believe. 😊

    Why do we always feel the need to get bigger and bigger? When is it TOO BIG? I think THIS is too big! 7500 passengers and 2500 crew... way too many people for my liking. Yes.. I love to cruise, but it doesn't sound too relaxing with that many people. Just my own humble opinion.

    A truly remarkable feat of design and engineering BUT I would not venture out to sea on it. A cruise is an enjoyable experience and generally cruise liners of comfort do not carry 10,000 people. I have been cruising for decades and have observed these vessels become larger and equipped with entertainment more befitting land based enterprises.
    There will be two of these monsters and no doubt competitors will seek to make bigger ones.
    Truly major feats of engineering excellence. So was the Titanic in its short lived life.

    When it sinks in relatively shallow water it will make the most EPIC recreational dive site in history. However, it's so tall that you'll definitely have to live by your compression diving tables if you plan to explore more than a few decks of it.
    The damned thing looks like it's top heavy in the extreme and seeing all that surface area above the waterline, all I can think of is "sail area" and "what happens if it takes a heavy gust of wind abeam? Probably it falls over."

    that thing is ridiculous. it is not a ship that is sea worthy in a bad storm.if that tub took a big wave midships it would roll over with all that steel above the water line. it is nothing more then a people barge . it is the last place i would ever go for a good peaceful quite vacation. if you like to be jammed onto a barge with 7000 hot sweaty sun screened up slobs in speedo's , nasty loud obnoxious people looking at you all the time its the way to go. if you want to be packed in with thousands of people go to New York or any other big city or Vagus and blow your money. i don't care how glitzy they make it or what they jam on to it, its still a big floating turd people barge not a ship. they will be running that tub up on the beach in india to be scrapped in five years if it don't sink first in a storm. its a 250,000 ton scam to get your money.

      Personally I think they should go the other direction and switch back to bunker fuel. Or maybe coal. Whatever is cheaper so I can go more often. Plus with attitudes like that there's no winning so why even try?
      Even if you could make a battery operated ship its still going to most likely be powered by gas turbines on land.
