    Dear Peepaw,
I have a problem with a Yaskawa servo drive like the one that you repaired in 3 videos on this channel. The problem begins when the servo motor stops at its correct position in a CNC machine but it showed an over-current alarm. When I disassembled the drive I found a short-circuited diode its cathode connected to the V motor terminal. There are 3 diodes with their cathodes connected to the U, V, and W terminals, and their anodes are connected together to a one 1.5-ohm power resistor. This resistor is connected to an RC component which was burnt. This RC component is connected to the P1 ( IGBT output stage power ). I noticed that this RC component is bypassed by a relay contact when the relay is off. I replaced the diode and the RC component and the drive worked but when the motor stopped at its correct position the drive showed an over-current alarm as happened before. This time I found the IGBT module damaged and also the fuse. I replaced the IGBT and all the seven opto-couplers. Also, I replaced the motor power cable and ensured there is no mechanical overload. When I installed the drive in the machine the same scenario happened. This time the diode and the RC damaged. Does this mean the braking transistor doesn't work properly? May you help me to solve this issue?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Omar

Good morning again sir. Good to hear your calming voice again. What do you use to power on motor drives and servo drives for troubleshooting?
    Thanks again, peepaw!

Hello Sir, our shop used to be a knitting mill. So the building has 220VAC, 3phase. We have a fairly large transformer to step up the 220VAC, 3phase to 380VAC, 3phase and 460VAC, 3phase. This transformer is on wheels so we can push it around the shop. To places where it is needed. I hope this helps you. Enjoy the day. Thank you:)

Please help me how to find surface mount capacitor voltage?
    01. Code 4DT 3300uf
    02. Code XP 220uf
    03. Code 52 390uf
    Please help me.

Hello, I hope you are having a great day. Are these capacitors surface mount? Usually the 3300uF capacitor would be large enough to show the voltage underneath or beside the micro-farad rating. I am unsure what XP and 53 denote. I will try to do some hunting for these meanings. In the meantime, you can power up you circuit and measure across the capacitors. to determine the voltage across the capacitor. Then double or triple the measured voltage to give you a safe voltage rating for that capacitor. I hope this helps. Thank you for stopping by:)
