This interesting broken blade was presented to me a few months ago by good friend.
In this video I'm restoring a broken handle and sharpening the blade.
This beautiful knife belongs to Bavarian Dress Knives.
Bavarian dress knife or Bavarian picnic knife are the common English terms for the special type of knife with a fixed blade called Trachtenmesser in Germany.
These knives are carried in the right hand side pocket of a traditional Bavarian leather pant, and just part of the handle is visible while exceeding that pocket.
Bavarian dress knives are characterised by the special shape of the blade and in most cases by a decorated ferrule.
Brief information about the company Hubertus Solingen:
The foundation of the cutlery company Hubertus Solingen took place on March 1, 1932 by Kuno Ritter.
The focus of the factory was initially on knife blades. Just a year later, the range was expanded Hubertus pocket knife, Professional and household knives expanded.
After the Second World War, the J. Albert Schmidt trading house was bought, with which the Hubertus brand was also taken over.
The name originated from the patron saint of hunters. Thus were Hubertus Hunting knife produced.
In addition, other species such as Hubertus Jagdnicker or Hubertus Hunting pocket knife developed.
With the purchase of another steel goods factory in Solingen, the production of Hubertus pocket knife get extended.
The company subsequently received orders from respected companies around the world.

Bought a knife a guy made out of an old used file - it was made to look like a scalping knife about 1750 - my favorite knife I ate cheese and meat and cleaned it by sticking it in the ground - he gave me grief for it and I explained that it would never take a scalp or kill a man - IT WAS A CHEESE CUTTER - still have it and consider it the best knife in my collection - had many a good meal with it

@@patrickfairchild2330 : This type of knife mostly has an antler handle. When used by hunters, it is called Nicker ( Genick- neck), when used in edc use, different names are used. In leather trousers, formerly used everwhere in southern Germany and Austria, there is still a small pocket for such knifes. For weapon law reason

Wrong button! For weapon law reason, you today rarely see someone with such a knife, but in 1980s you could see some older men, carriinng such a knife , being modern dressed.
