    I agree with most of this video, except for the "no need for heating" portion. While it's true we don't have snowy winters, the damp cold can be worse than the snow. You absolutely need a heat source to keep your shelter (and your stuff) from rotting and going moldy. Even in the modern age with central heating, I still loose items to mold and mildew if I forget about them in the corner of the house. I challenge any Easterner who makes fun of our "mild" winters to spend the night out at 0°C in the pouring rain, and tell me after how whiny we are 😆

    I live on Vancouver Island in Port Alberni. We have cougars here, but there is really an abundance of food in nature here if you know what to look for. Howdy Nat. I agree with the majority of your assessment of Victory. I see the need for a boat to get on and off the Island as more of a benefit than a drawback. Vancouver Island is pretty big with a lot of resources. That was one of the primary reasons I chose Victoria when I left Winnipeg. Truth be told. I hope I never have to find out how survivable my City is, but sadly the future is looking a little bleak. Thanks for the video.

    Well you still need heat and AC in Victoria like many other southern BC cities. Had to be said.

    • @dposcuro
      @dposcuro ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, but I grew up on the Island. Sooke, specifically. Never had AC, never needed it when I lived in an Apartment in Victoria, nor did I need AC when I lived in Langford.
      AC is entirely unnecessary in Victoria. It is a minor luxury that would be nice to have, for only a handful of days of the year. Living in Edmonton currently? And yeah, +35C is a point where I simply cannot cope with the heat any more. I still don't have AC, but I cannot function in the heat for any length of time.
      Heating however? Fighting off the damp cold is going to be critical to keeping your shelter, and clothing, in acceptable condition. Mildew, Mold and other issues thrive in the damp chill.
