The boat gets smaller when it hits the water because the water cools the air inside, causing it to contract. I really like the inflation device - not only is it better than using your "lung energy", which can be exhausting and slow, but it decreases the amount of moisture injected into the compartment, limiting the potential for mold growth.
It's great that you're doing these things with your kids. I'm 50+ and remember all the outdoor, life-lessons taught to me by my dad and the Boy Scouts. Thanks for sharing!
Really beautiful to see a family having fun together ❤❤❤
the bag doubling as the pump is genius. how to go on holiday and fully chill while also making valuable content is also genius. Well done fam.
From time to time, its nice to see "dad Nate"... we get soo caught up in the news, that we overlook why we do it, who were doing it for. Stay safe everyone
Most people won't realize this, but THIS is actually a value filled video.....
Let's just say it like this....
NATE HAS TAUGHT HIS CHILDREN WELL ABOUT THE ***SIMPLE*** SURVIVAL SKILLS....
WATCH AND LISTEN TO THEIR COMMENTS ***CAREFULLY***....
THEY RECOGNIZE SURVIVAL OPPORTUNITIES..
🤔🤔🤔
DO YOU???
🤔🤔🤔
Well said.well said.

This video reminds me of that other Canadian prepper "Huple's Cat" repeatly nearly ending himself permanently by letting his ego get the better of him & getting way out of his depth.
What was he thinking?? 🤣
@PeterKnagge
what did this "cat" even do dude?
@@jasonvoorhees5640 He gave himself bad hyperthermia camping in the snow, got badly lost while orienteering, & nearly drowned himself while canoeing
Canadian Prepper is conservative, while Huple's Cat is progressive. Both reckless, self-important, & clueless... 🤣
from mad max to waterworld
My first thought during the intro was Water World!
@@sozfan1 and back again
He must be a Smoker spy.
Mad max blew, I did like water world
Now I want to go to the lake!! You and the kids look like y’all had a blast!! You’re a good daddy!! Be safe Nate and as always praying for you and your precious family!!
I have a Polish rain poncho that doubles as a small raft.. Its awesome!
Haven't seen one of them in ages.
Can you share that link for that? Thanks!
Got it off eBay years ago. Havnt seen another since. It came with mittens for paddling. Used as there was sand in the mittens. Lol
Unfortunately, in the UK. are rivers, are not clear, but, brown coloured! ...---...
Like your streets now!
Just like your streets now!
Also the rivers are full of large Tall weeds very dangerous 😰🇬🇧
You could flip it and use it as a air mattress.
I'm in NW Texas, The only way I'd need a boat is after forty days of rain, and even then, it's questionable. Other than building a new house, digging a bunker, or buying a ton of solar, I'd love some tips on surviving 110+f weather. Staying warm, by comparison, is simple. Some wool cloths, haters, etc, but the heat here is lethal.
GREAT IDEA ! Many folks just don't KNOW how BAD the roads will get in a SHTF scenario. I remember back in 2004, when 4 hurricanes hit Florida in the space of about 6 weeks. By the 2nd one, people were in PANIC MODE, and jammed the highways headed NORTH - out of the State. Many actually ran out of gas along the way, or found "no vacancy" at all the hotels, and all alternate routes also jammed with traffic. If you use a boat as PLAN B, be sure to have a good MAP of the waterways.
Don't think it would do me any good to have but I like watching Nate do things with his kids just as much as his regular videos shows the human side of him he's a good dad
He has never said the word "wife" one time.

72 hours to flatten the curve
Safe and effective. 😮😮😮
Trust the science.
Your son has a good sense of humor " looting the gas station" lmfao stay safe guys
Hello from Minnesota, land of over 10,000 lakes. I could see using this when SHTF to get away from a lot of situations. In addition to our lakes here in MN we have a network of rivers that this could be used for a getaway. The types that are sold a Walmart are junk !
And if you are in Florida, boats sometimes replace cars on the road. 😂
Man after a 107 degree day in Wisconsin I don't miss south Florida AT ALL.
Wouldn't mind going for a gator hunt though.
Yeah… I remember those days. Really bad drainage infrastructure. The architecture wasn’t thought out properly either.
We
Take our kayaks and camp on the islands in the river. Practice making fires and primitive camping. It’s nice to disconnect for a while.
Just don't want to run into gators
That's true. We could also use this item to float from Florida to Mexico to escape if Commie Harris wins.
Now they need a camouflage version.
So the fish won't attack the surviving humans? 🤔 😂
Rattle can it👍
@@CDom-r4omay affect and compromise the material
Probably won't harm the plastic, but it'll flake off when it's balled up for storage.
@@larrylezon1590
So snipers with rifles from tree lines won't see you easily... In a dingy is the most stupidest thing I've ever seen in a shit hits the fan scenario...
It can also lead to your death. Before deciding to get on any water, you need to consider the risks and contributing factors (and there are many). The depth, temperature, current speeds, distance from shore/shallows, rapids, waterfalls, dams, your buoyancy, swimming proficiency, hazards (visible and hidden), dangerous wildlife, etc. You must assume that, regardless of the durability of this inflatable or its handling, you can be in the water. Prepare accordingly.
Not suggesting it shouldn't be an option. Just don't raise your risks unless it's worth it and try to minimize what you can control, especially of you find yourself up Dung Creek without a paddle (or boat).
Thanks Rod
I heard a hydro-professor of sorts from a low European country (Netherlands I think) say that anyone who lives near or below sea level should have an inflatable device on hand for flooding emergencies.
I used to travel with my job. I made the decision to carry a survival immersion suit in my car along with some flotation devices and rope. If the bridges are blocked or destroyed my plan was to float across big rivers with my BoB in tow with the flotation devices. I also had some short fins for propulsion. I never had a chance to actually do it, but I figure I could cross any river this way in any temperature. And theoretically remain relatively dry. And come out prolly a mile downstream. 😂
Not a bad idea... Throw a sterno in the glove box for heat and cooking too
Just get up some speed in the car and jump the rivers!
I have an Intex Mariner 4. They are about 100lbs and cost about $500 nowadays. But I love it. It's towards the higher end of a portable, inflatable boat, and solid enough for a small engine. There's a whole community around modifying them too.
A boat is the best way to get out of a major city in a SHTF moment.
Ya a Sailboat on the Ocean.
Only down side is your litterally a sitting duck
They need to make Green or brown. Nicely compact to carry. Seems great for throwing the gear in and floating alongside to island hop.
Imagine how many lives would have been saved if the passengers of the Titanic had it. I wonder if something similar could have been made at that time with some other material
A sailboat is literally a self-contained shelter & vehicle, that could take you to another continent if you have enough water (or a water-maker) and the know-how
been looking for an ultralight version of this so thank you! I purchased another one off Amazon but it was too big and heavy. We work on the other side of a large river so if the bridge ever gets taken out or the roads closed this would be our only way back home in shtf. perfect!
Great video! That could really come in handy! You're kids are awesome! Your son laughs just like you 😂
🇺🇲✌🏻
I'm doing the catalac version of this plan;
I'm planning to sail a 30-foot Catalina sailboat out of San Fran bay and south toward where you make the big westward turn across the South Pacific, when SHTF happens.
This escape-by-sea plan has been in the works for a while.
You have worked hard for this but you are a fortunate man. Meaning you children are absolutely wonderful. You better enjoy them.

It's dayglo orange.. that isnt SHTF gear, and the reason it deflates is due to the temperature difference between the air inside the inflatable and the water temp, it isn't because the material "gets wet".
The portable pump is looking attractive!
I bought two of those Seahawk inflatable rafts on Amazon on special 50 bucks each. Very handy in case of a flood.
Hike to the river, float to the ocean, eat seafood.
Or be seafood.. 😁
I’m sure they’re be many people strategically posted on riverbanks and port areas. You’d be a duck
@@Lowiqpeoplethinktheyresmart seems like a risk that would be true of anywhere, but with the added protection of the would be attacker having to reason if they can recover any of your stuff when it’s in the flow of the river.
Assuming they think twice about it, it’s quite different from being in an open field, sure theres no cover on the water, but it is assumed that the attacker would be on a river bank, and you could maneuver yourself to the other side of the river, thus having a river between you. So if you had to flee on ground, you would also have the river as an obstacle to your pursuer, and as a source of locomotion to aid in a competition of endurance.
What interesting is the proposition of trading with a fisherman, if you encounter someone fishing, you could trade for a fish on the spot, aiding your journey. It may be the assumption of animosity that would spoil establishing such helpful relationships.
Hopefully someone of the mindset to rob you, would be deterred by having to swim out into the current and chase after your stuff, on-top of the danger of just risking an attack.
Water also deflects high velocity projectiles, so a helmet with a snorkel would go far if you needed to jump into the water. It is definitely advisable to wear a helmet when kayaking.
You are a cool dad...your kids will be par excellent Canadian Preppers.
I thought I was drowning in the Rio Grande, but then I just stood up.
Excellent report 👍👍👍👍👍
I Agree 😊
As someone who lives next to several rivers, this beats trying to treck along the other option - the highway (with all the highwaymen)
The guy is rich. I can't even afford the blow up raft. 😅😂😅 But , I have something better. JESUS
The number 1 prep everybody forgets about
Jesus kills more than any government.
@@orlandofebus7618but u shouldnt just prep 1 thing or being...
You gotta get a raft. No matter how much praying, Jesus never saves anyone from drowning. Or you could name your boat Jesus. Then Jesus would save. Bam! Problem solved.
Jesus was a carpenter
The style of manual pump is clever.
The idea of having a flotation device never crossed my mind. Will be remedying this. I love the area that you were in. A beautiful place to camp and enjoy with the kids. Your kids were so enjoying themselves. Lol I got a kick out of your son playing with the log. Love the imagination. That log could be anything from a pirate ship to a rescue device or as your son stated a fire log. Lol a little water logged for that. Remember when they were little and they were more interested in the boxes and the paper rather than the gift inside. Haha. Once again their imaginations were flowing. Kids are wonderful human beings. They are great teachers as well to us stodgy old adults. Your kids are adorable Nate.
Fast way to blow up dingy and large inflatables with large openings is with a battery leaf blower just an idea
A very good poncho and pair of boots is always a good start 👌
Lmao 🤣 this was by far the best video in today's world! Great Job kids! It's all good... we got this!
Sweet children...ya all had some good fun
Keep it up xxxxxx
this could also be flipped over on land and used as a roof for a shelter - after all, it's waterproof!
Post SHTF, water crossings should be avoided, when ever possible, just like open fields, and large clearings; due to lack of cover or concealment.
Great idea!! I was considering getting a lifetime brand canoe as I get a discount working for them, this would be a lot more practical for a grid down bug out scenario
as always . . . Thanx Nate!!
Doom and gloom or rainbows and butterflies, love your spirit and thank you for all you do on your channel! Your kids are adorable and very lucky to have a dad like you! Take care ✌🏻
Thanks
hmmm this might be something i can bring on my motorcycle adventure touring trips.
Lol a sitting duck on a lake to a sniper from bank and trees
Don't forget to wear a yellow or orange vest to camouflage yourself 😅😅
I watched Deliverance. I ain't paddling down no creeks.
@@kevfit4333
Exactly.. an orange dingy lol.. why not fluro ..
Why not BLACK ..
I'd love to see vacation videos for preppers. I always want to take as much as possible and sometimes go overboard.
Or how about a large tractor inner tube?
Retrofitted with larger one-way valves?
Find two floating logs able to be held together with your arms and legs, to prevent them rolling, master the technique.
Cool dingy! Your kids are so cute!🥰
2 would be good for an area with lots of lakes and rivers (Minnesota, Washington, Oregon ...) 1 for yourself and one for your gear and bug out animal of choice.😊
Nice break from the doom and gloom. Great Day Starter.
Nice!! That could come in handy!!!!
I would cut a tarp that can cover it just in case you need it and wanna be incognito (evasive) when a scenario as such arises perhaps.
Although there’s family in Calgary and Toronto, I haven’t been up there in quite some time.
Really beautiful..enjoy! Your children are adorable!♥️
Ok we get it you’re the best dad ever. important prepper strategy.
Dom! You pretty much created this whole video!! Way to Go!!!
Nate, I have to tell you I thoroughly enjoyed this video, and your presentation of the product. If I were younger, I would buy two of them for myself. I'll recommend them to my family and friends. THANK YOU.
Can You Get It Not Orange But it is Cool
I can’t believe you’re teaching your kids to steal! 🤪
That’s a cool little boat, your kids are cute! Your sons gonna follow in your footsteps
Run to the national forests, dig for roots and eat berries. Go to sleep early and be eaten by wolves 😂
I figured after SHTF, Should be plenty of scraps to gather if I'm lucky enough to miss a direct hit.
Nate, You have to use a little Physics to blow that up with the dry bag. Remember "Bernoulli's principle" and you can blow it up in half the time as that little pump could, lol. You can teach the kids a lesson they'll never forget while your at it. Show them how to do it and then make it a race. One can use "Bernoulli's principle", one the dry bag and 1 the pump. Physics will win every time. make a video!
Pack rafts are amazing and thats a very good price
When spending hours under the ☀sun, sun screen can save ur @$$ too! 😃
Or am umbrella
Well, it gets you and your BOB across a body of water.
Rivers and other waterways were mankind's earliest transport routes, which is why so many towns and cities are located beside water.
I’d use it to get to a small river or lake island. Instant moat for your castle.
Please nate that thing will get people killed,I worked many years on the water, love your show ,watching in alaska ,hey I can see the top of your head from where I'm at,great show.
Looks like British Columbia area. Very chill and relaxed looking place I'd bug out to.
Always know where there's two logs able to float that you can hold underneath you together with yours arms and legs preventing them rolling to float on them safely, master the technique.
That boat could make a comfortable bed
Have to hold two logs together underneath oneself floating upon the waters, that's likely how the largest small animals like Giant Turtles got onto and stranded on islands during Noah's flood, and the smallest of the large animals like the dwarf elephant.
They were the ones just right size to float upon two logs held together under them which prevented logs rolling and made it able to stay on top of them successfully reaching isolated islands made from mountain tops broken off by flood waters and washed miles into the oceans, off their bases.
Good video, looks like you guys had fun making it, your a good dad Nate.
Fill it up with water after fishing then run the water through water filters
I stick with my Jackson big rig kayak with 30 horsepower trolling motor
Thank you.
What a great location - Fun times s summer time - Thanks
Epic kids lol glad yall got out to laugh a bit take care from my family to yours !!
Looks like fun in disguise! Thanks! 👍
Sweet dingy!!!
I'm used to walking everywhere but not with a bunch of gear strapped to me I have a solo stove which is really easy and light to carry that's probably one area I have to improve upon while utilizing my ghillie suit to see how well it blends in
Nate come on the log is way more fun!🤣😂😹😻great video thanks BZ
Or a inch bag video is what i really would love to see
This is the coolest video you've done I think to promote a product the kids made it awesome 👍 all your videos are amazing and very educational keep up the amazing work and thank you for sharing
like your french, good video with your son, thank you
Good work
You could use it to catch water if you needed to
"Not today bro...." 😂😂😂😂😂
There’s nothing like family fun❤
Not only funny but an introduction of a getaway device for us NYer's and Long Islanders to use! As you know NYC and Long island next door is surrounded by water and this provides a compact way to get the Hell out of Dodge errrrr Escape From New York! :)
Material doesn’t expand when it gets wet, the cold water cools the air and makes it more dense and lowers air pressure inside because of that, I carry and pump on my zodiac so I can pump it up after 15-20 mins on the water and I’m good for the rest of the day after that
Thanks!
