VERY LATE UPDATE: I closed my shop at the end of 2023 as I concluded that I no longer have interest in continuing and pursuing this. Thank you to everyone who has watched and has followed me along this journey 🙌🏽
Hi everyone! LIKE this comment if you want me to post a new Etsy shop update video ONCE per month, and COMMENT for an update video once EVERY 2 WEEKS. Thanks 😀
Thanks for the honesty, @harrisonkam. I opened my shop about 4 weeks ago and I already sold more than $1k with only two listings. First thing I made, was to research a lot about SEO before creating the first listing, along with the crazy acrobatics to take appealing pictures at home. Once the listings were created, I paid for ads for the first 2 weeks (budget was something around $5 a day). Having the ads made my listings get on the first page and that brought a rain of "Likes" or "Loves" to my listings. Those big amount of "Likes" + SEO + good pics bumped my listings organically to the first page and they are still between the first 12 results even after stopping using ads. Hope this helps somehow and wish you the best of luck.
Yes, @@Lifeofayuu . The first two sales & reviews were from friends. I realized that I was spending money on Etsy charges and shipping labels, so I decided not to ask anyone else.
Hi everyone! Thank you all so much for the support on this new video and for all the new subscribers! If you didn't already know, I completely rebranded my channel/content. I used to make comedy skits and do pranks, as that may be hard to believe...lol. See you in my next video! 😊
I have an Etsy shop that I started right before Q4 last year and the holidays definitely gave me a boost but initially I did have friends and family purchase from my shop and leave a review. Just 2-3 good reviews will give people confidence in your shop. Good luck and I hope we all continue to grow in that platform!
I love you, you beautiful, optimistic human! I run an Etsy Digital Art store and I love the process of graphic designing my posters. I wish you all the best and massive organic growth :)
We should be eachothers first sale! I posted a bunch around new years and did pinterest marketing and etsy ads. No sales yet. Slowed down on posting new shirts the past week or so and my views dropped off. This really showed me how important consistent posting is! I have about 5 designs ready so will be uploading them today and will try to get next week's designs done on the weekends so I can post them through the week. Hope you get some sales soon!
I finally made a few sales over the last couple of days (probably because of this video...lol) so I'm ecstatic about it! Keep posting and being consistent. It is always key. The more listings you have up, the better your chances so keep going strong man! You got this!
Great video! I’m in the same boat as you but only about a week in with about 40 listings. I noticed you now have 2 sales! Good to see that you finally got a couple 👍
Thanks man! Wow, 40 listings already. Keep it up and keep listing! Thank you so much and I'm very happy about the sales. I do believe this video getting a lot of views helped me get them but I'll take it! Lol
I started my shop at the beginning of November and I have made 4 sales, all of them were from etsy ads and a couple of them were Etsy ads combined with a 1 day sale. I create a 1 day sale every day at 10-15% off. All the best...............
Nice, congrats on your first 4 sales! I may have to start running Etsy ads just to give it a try and start with a small budget but we'll see. The sale each day is good because potential customers will see that it only lasts for a day so they will feel more compelled to buy right at that moment so that's a good idea
Hey, i'm a new subscriber, i thought I'd share a recent etsy shop experience I've had recently... i have started an etsy shop mid december an its just come off a 7 day suspension, I asked them why my shop was suspended and the only answer i got was it was suspendid in error...oh yeah all i got was sorry for any inconvenience caused... i was seathing, they're pushing you for your 1st sale an then promptly suspend it for no apparent reason, well i got it un-suspended 3 days ago an still no sales, but my SEO is all over the place, anyway I'm with you on this journey so buckle up it could be a bumpy ride... love the video lets keep this going an I'll keep checking in with any progress... take care...👍👍👍
Hi Simon, thank you very much for subscribing! I heard from a lot of other Etsy sellers that they have had their shop suspended randomly a few days after they opened their shop and they also didn't receive a legitimate reason as to why that happened. Keep pushing on your shop and I will do the same. Let's be successful on this journey together!
Thank you so much! I will keep creating and updating you all with monthly Etsy shop stats, as well as ways to make passive income and self-motivating videos so stay tuned
@@impala7740 I'll try my best on this topic. I do have a Shopify account and tried drop shipping a little last year but then stopped to focus on Etsy and other passive income streams. I will eventually make a few Shopify videos on what I know, though.
As a fellow Etsy seller, this video really feels good. I also just started my Etsy store and didn’t get any regular sales (besides family and friends). Even though, I am in such a saturated niche, I won’t lose hope haha. Thanks for the video!
I think you could create Etsy shop update videos every month to see the progress. While waiting for the next video update, you could also give us some tips/advice on how to start an Etsy POD business. Do we need an LLC or just sole proprietorship? Who will collect the sales taxes? (Etsy/us/Printify? and other business tips. Thanks.
I had my etsy shop since 2020. I sell bras and bustiers. I have a total of 61 sales. It is not easy but I'm working on new ideas and changing things around. Hang in there.
Oh wow, a few years to date so far. I think changing it up is always necessary, just to see what works and what doesn't. Once you establish what works, only up from then on on out. Keep going!
Love it. I don't think people fully understand that Etsy is a marathon. I know it's not sexy but it takes a LONG time to get an Etsy shop up to a point where it's making a good income monthly. Too many quit way too fast. If you want faster results, open a Shopify store and run ads. :)
I completely agree! It is a marathon and with the amount of competition and listings out there now, it is very difficult but still very possible to stand out and make a lot of sales. Ahh Shopify store and running ads sounds like a good idea!
Thank you for showing your shop name and what you're doing with it. I come across too many who refuse to show their shop name or website and expect people to accept whatever they say regarding sales. I have asked a few to show what their website looks like or their Etsy shop and I'm told that they can't. Well, if I'm expected to believe their website is successful or that their methods work, I'd like to see it instead of blindly believing someone. I like to see real info. I like to see their seller info. Thanks again.
I completely understand how you feel. I wish they would do the same and disclose their shop name or products they sell, but I do understand that if this is how they make a living, they have the right to keep it private. I wouldn't want others to sell similar designs to mine that are doing really well, by showing the audience my top selling products. Thank you for your insight and for watching.
I think for a new POD shop, your result is pretty common. I saw many sellers have 0 sales on their first & second month. I think volume is key especially if you sell t-shirt because there are already so many successful t-shirt sellers on Etsy. Maybe you can aim to upload 100 listings in a month; do it for 3 months, then you can slow down. As a new t-shirt seller, you need to chase for trending topics if you want to see fast result (average within 3 months). I opened my Etsy shop in mid November 2022. Now I have 91 sales. I'm selling digital products, not POD though. From my experience, never listen or watch youtubers talking about what niches are popular and ask you to dive in. Whatever those youtubers said, most of the time the niches are already saturated. But, I still watch many videos talking about marketing strategies, shop optimization and shop reviews, then test them on my shop and practice what works. For niche finding, you need to do the research yourselves. I did my own research and found my niche that only has 4 top competitors. Utilize free tools like erank, everbee etc. And never include any copyrighted materials in your designs, title, description and tags.
Thank you for providing insight and I will try my best to upload as many listings as I can in the next couple of months! Congrats on all the sales you have already generated as well. You're doing a lot of great research and found a niche that has little to no competition, which is prime.
@@kam_collects Thanks for your reply although I wasn't helping that much. There's a guy on TH-cam called Alek who's documenting his POD Etsy journey too. His results are pretty amazing maybe you can check out what he's doing & try to implement them in your shop. I hope you'll find success in your POD journey.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will make a video regarding this very soon, as I believe that I am not using any copyrighted graphics or fonts that are the trademarked/copyrighted by Disney. I use graphics off of the website that I have a premium plan for thru CreativeFabrica.com, and the "Disney" font that I used is a copyright free/print on demand free font that is not the exact same font as Disney's. It is very close to their font and I will compare mine to theirs in a future video. Definitely be aware of the dangers of taking copyrighted or trademarked material from different companies so always do your trademark research before creating any new designs.
@@kam_collects Ahh thanks for the clarification! I myself wouldn't dare to do it anyway even if it's legal. I wouldn't want to be in a position where they have a different opinion and sues me anyway.
Hi there. I looked it up and Google says that Etsy screens and reviews each Etsy Payments order to ensure that the transaction is legitimate. Most orders are processed within 72 hours. However, some may take more time for their team to review. This review process is in place to protect you and other buyers and sellers on Etsy from possible fraud. Hope this helps!

I think you should keep going if you have some time to spare every day to do some research and to post a few new listings. Printify (my print on demand platform that I use), has many different print provider companies that will print your designs on their apparel and ship them directly to the buyer. These are only printed when someone orders (made to order) and they take care of everything. All you need to do is create the design, upload it into Printify and generate sales!
Wow, great start and thanks for the tips. Valentine's Day designs should be created at this moment and even toward the end of December, as Valentine's Day is in early February. A lot of sales for them could be coming within the last 2 weeks of January so maybe keep posting more designs for it

Hi Harrison! I’m new and prepping to launch my store (business license, bank account, setting up my profile, email, accounting) and just subscribed to your channel! I like your message of staying motivated and the realties/expectations as a new sellers. Just curious on what software you use for accounting and why? Wish you all the best with your store and hope to exchange ideas for success going forward.
Hey Brandon! Thank you for subscribing and can't wait til you launch your new store! I appreciate the feedback and honestly, I created an Excel spreadsheet to track all of my analytics/sales. Currently, I don't have a specific software for my accounting. Good luck to you as well and keep me updated on your progress!
Hey, just my two cents worth, but I would be careful about trademarked designs. Some folks have been sued by Disney and got their shop shut down. I know it makes me sick when I see these extremely successful shops on Etsy and they are violating every trademark on the planet and raking in the money. I'm sure eventually their luck will run out. With my luck if I did that, they would catch me the first day. Good luck to you, you seem like a very nice man.
Hi Wynter, thank you for your opinion and suggestions on copyright. I definitely have to make a video regarding copyright in the future, as it is very dangerous for so many sellers out there that either know or don't know the risks. I did create a video recently regarding Disney and how they have been suing a lot of shops: th-cam.com/video/eM6aRQZZB8s/w-d-xo.html We have to be creative in our own ways and use others as inspiration, but not completely steal copyrighted material. Thank you again!
I currently am not. I want to see if I can generate any sales within the first couple of months and if nothing is still working, I will try ads. Have you been running ads and are they working for you?
@@kam_collects I've been running ads at a couple of dollars a day (sometimes it doesn't use the entire amount). We're new, about 3.5 weeks open. So far we've had 2 orders from ads and spent about $38 on ads. So it's not making money yet but helping some with visibility. Going to continue for the next couple of weeks and see how things go.
@@kam_collects Dang that is some commitment to starting over. Glad I can be here from the "start" Just curious, did you do that for algorithm reasons, or didn't want conflicting videos on your channel or got tired of your old content? Never seen anyone start over after amassing 16k subs so I'm intrigued.
@@ShadraqsVids16 Appreciate that man. I was never really consistent on this channel over all the years I've had this channel, but I do have a huge following on TikTok @harrisonkam, but slowly have not posted for a long time and don't really use it that much anymore, as I think I gained a lot of subscribers from there. I specifically deleted them all because I had random videos that were old and a little cringey, and just wanted to start a new type of niche which I'm very interested in now.
These youtubers give you guys the fishing rod but they won't show you how to use it. I understand if they keep secrets away from you guys because it will affect to their wallet. First sale will not come if you just only listing your products. It's may have some but you will never go success. Do some marketing stuff may push you to higher level than making some sale without knowing why. Remember, nothing would come if you didn't pay the price.
That's very true. There are TH-camrs that are very transparent and others that want to help everyone that is just starting out, but don't want to completely reveal all their secrets and their products/shop because at the end of the day, that is how they make their livings and don't want copycats. Now that I think of it, if you don't spend the money, you won't make money. Ads will be something I look into purchasing, but definitely not go overboard on them. Thank you for the advice and insights.
Thank you for the encouragement 😊 My Etsy is a little over 3 months with a high in demand product. I have made only 2 sales. I am just now organizing my social media posting so, I am expecting traffic to start coming in soon. I believe the ones who started making sales on Etsy right away, already had a good following on social media or had the money up front to advertise in Google and Facebook. They had to have had experience in knowing how to launch a new store.
You're welcome! Thank you for your Etsy shop details. Keep working at it and market on your social media as much as you can, too. You can review how well posting there helps and if it drives sales, continue to push on there. That is very true. The more of a social media following you already have, the easier it is to sell anything. Also, the more money you have to spend on ads, the more you will make. Wishing you all the best and for your shop to keep growing!
Nooo, definitely not! Keep going. Results take time and I know that for a fact. The harder you work on something, the end result will always be positive in the long run 🙌🏽

Well this was a refreshing video. Not that I'm glad to see the no success yet. It just gets tiring to see the I made $10k in my first month on Etsy with 10 designs videos. lol Keep at it and you will find your groove and success!
Thank you very much. I completely agree with you, as I've watched many videos just like those...lol. I appreciate the positive comments!
You can connect your Etsy shop to Quick books through your Etsy account.
@@DebbieZagar-G-plus Thank you for this info!
Nice 👍 good video I’m going to check it out
Thanks bro, much appreciated and Happy New Year 🙌🏽
Hey, just my two cents worth, but I would be careful about trademarked designs.
I did create a video recently regarding Disney and how they have been suing a lot of shops: th-cam.com/video/eM6aRQZZB8s/w-d-xo.html
We have to be creative in our own ways and use others as inspiration, but not completely steal copyrighted material. Thank you again!
You didn’t work on it for one week though.
What do you mean? I have been working on it
are you currently running ads? you should start with $1 a day, so you can boost your listings.
How do you have 16.6k subs with only 1 video that has 1.1k views? 🤔
It’s an old channel I had since 2014 lol and I deleted all my old videos to start over
@@kam_collects Dang that is some commitment to starting over. Glad I can be here from the "start"
Just curious, did you do that for algorithm reasons, or didn't want conflicting videos on your channel or got tired of your old content?
Thank you for the encouragement 😊
My Etsy is a little over 3 months with a high in demand product.
So I should basically give up 😭
Nooo, definitely not! Keep going. Results take time and I know that for a fact. The harder you work on something, the end result will always be positive in the long run 🙌🏽
you need hundreds of listings even not just 10... etsy recommens your listigs when your active... dont expect to be succesful with a couple listings. thats not how it works
Check out Dylan Jahrus!
I subscribe to her already :)
Thank you for sharing. Now I don't feel incompetent anymore 🥲
