    I;m sure by now you've found your issue? There's not enough water in your pool, and/or your skimmer is is not mounted at the correct heigth. The blue top should be floating freely on the water. It will not be sucked in completely, but it will be level on the water, allowing water to float in from al sides. And like other said, the pump for such a pool is way too small. Enjoy!

      I dropped it down and its floating now. Works great. Ended up getting a 1500 from 1000 pump. The pool is not level, its about 4squares (5") off. The low point is where the skimmer is. This pool will be given away in the fall, going to get a new one for next season. Loving the pool

    I’m sure you got this fixed I have a 2000 per gallon pump and I had to plug up one side of the inlet and push the skimmer all the way down into the water practically and fill it up all the way to the top for it to work properly Hope you got it all worked out.

  • @anthonyhenrie1613
    @anthonyhenrie1613 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    You need to fill the pool and put a plug on the second suction line or put a tee on the bottom of the skimmer so both lines can connect.

    Hi there what you can do make IT close whith tape for more suction under the skimmer where the black things are

  • @mariettamacasadia565
    @mariettamacasadia565 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    When you uncapped the filter inlet strainer, did you have to use a screw driver? Because we are having a hard time taking it off so that we can attach the skimmer hose

    • @LawnPusher
      @LawnPusher  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We didn't put on the screw because its useless to have on the strainer. The strainer inlet is not going to move

  • @heathermelohnthereareno5505
    @heathermelohnthereareno5505 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yes it does float that is normal it is Supp to be placed down up to 4” under water and allow blue piece to float up and that pump should do fine if you fill more water and plug other suction you prob figured this out already but let it float

      @@LawnPusher yw I know ur post has been around a while and you probably know all of this already I mainly posted comments for others who may go to the video to figure things out. Another video someone put the white rubber stopper with hole in the A port or sounds like it cause said her pump stopped working and the video was most clear concise I’ve ever seen point blank step by step

    That pump for that large pool is cheap. I sold mine and got a 2100gph sand pump. A 1600gph pump will work great too but the bigger the better. These skimmers are fantastic when you have a bigger pump. By the way, my pool is an oval inflatable 18x10. I just sold it though and I'm waiting for our new intex 12x24 ultra frame. It comes with a 1600gph pump but I'll be using my 2100gph pump. And make sure that the white part of the skimmer sits below the water line. The blue part should float. Oh, by the way . I saw your temporary steps video. I love the idea and will be using it with our new pool.

      Those steps are solid. Seems to be a hit on YT. We might be buying a bigger size next year, used this as a test to see how the kids and family would do with it. Deciding on the pool pump once we get the bigger size. Looking at a 25x15. I definitely have a learning curve when it comes to anything pool related.

    Water is too low or skimmer should be higher. It still doesn't suck down. It just floats. But you were on the right track by capping the other one. But yes. You need a bigger pump.
