I made the 1st 2 TR cruises of the 90's as a Jolly Roger, and the last 2 90's cruises as a Black Ace. My rack was directly under the 3 wire for 3 of them. When I was in VF-33 the diamondbacks were the 'girls next door'. Just my guess but that looks like car quals off Virginia, none of those squadrons were in the TR CAG.
the tension on those arrestor must be something . . . not just the weight of the aircraft but the sheer power of those jet engines propelling the jet . . . stopping all that weight & kinetic energy must be immeasurably tenuous . . .
Your video looks great on the big TV. The out of synch audio is the result of inferior converting gear. I'll happily do your tape again for you if you want it fixed.
Probably carrier quals while America was in port or shipyard. This video was taken off the east coast. TR had CAW-8, so our tail markings were AJ. Scott B.

I'm confused; VF-102 Tomcats, AB tailcode. Wouldn't this be on the America in 92?

Also, the S-2 has AD markings, and a two seater F-18, so most likely training.
The dungeree s are like I wish I could be on deck😂
