Your cab situation in the back of the truck reminds me of van life videos. Nice birthday tribute to the kids' mom, very sweet. Enjoy your time home with the family.
Hey Dez. Definitely seeing them every three weeks is better.💪🏾👌🏽💯 👍🏽 okay! Sleeping bag, comfortable bed, microwave, fridge. Cool. 😎Yes, being safe is a definite.👍🏽
So happy to see you progressing in what you set out to do! Totally understand wanting as much time with family as possible. I think seeing these vlogs really put in perspective how things are re-stocked and the sacrifices ppl make to transport goods. We know it happens but watching the process like this is seeing it through a totally different lens.
Yes! Thank you! This job won’t be something that I do for long term. Being around the kids is important to me and I can’t do that if I’m in other states. I am definitely enjoying the experience though.
Sorry to tell you but it’s not all fun. I learned a lot though. This is an example. You arrive at your destination at 2 am. Something is wrong with your paperwork and it’s causing a delay but when you call your driver leader no one answers the phone. No calls you back until 09:00 in morning. It’s a lot of waiting and you don’t get paid for waiting. Overall it wasn’t a horrible experience
I love how you are making positive vibes out of your situation. Looking at the future and not dreading the present. Your best days are coming.🤣😇🤗 making more money you can always fly Spirit to TEXAS 😇😇😇
Ms. Cox you have no idea. This isn’t where I want to be at the moment but I also understand that I have to certain things now in order to get where I want to be in the future. I just don’t like being away from kids for too long. I don’t ever want them resenting me for not being there.
Whats up Dez, your goal will come as you need! God knows your heart is to be with your kids so he will make sure that happens!!! Love the tribute to my sister for her Birthday!!! That made me smile! Yall have come a very long way and im here all for it!!’ Va standup!!!! ❤❤
Hey Yolly, thank you for watching. No, I don’t have to unload anything at Walmart. My new job is cool but I’m looking forward to being able to be home weekly.
Welcome to the Team. It’s definitely different than what I expected. I finished orientation on Tuesday and I was in the truck with my mentor on that following Tuesday.
Awesome thanks for sharing great job love watching your videos just 💯 percent real keep being you have may god protect you on the road in Jesus name amen 🙏🏽✨❤️🙌🏾👊🏽
Is it true that swift trucks don’t have APU units? If not, how do you stay warm in the winter? I thought some states don’t allow you to idle the truck overnight . Also, what’s an average salary for first year OTR ?
Not true. If that was the case how would you stay cool in the winter? Pay is different for everyone depending upon experience, intermodal, hazmat, doubles, etc…
My Orientation is this wensday 6-26-24 im nervous ,i just got my class A license in January,,ima try swift so i can atleast get two months experience on how to.control the truck, im nervous because i never been outside Texas and hoping i dont make a bad decision, i have 2 little boys and ima single dad,its gonna be a big challenge been away from them,,my mother is gonna help me with them wile im out in the road,,i just hope its worth it,i hope my mentor dont take Advantage of me and makes me drive like crazy,,dose anyone knows how manny hours i should drive aday,,
Hey bro, what’s up. Congratulations on your CDL. I’m gonna tell you like this because there’s no to sugar coat it. Driving sucks!!!! I enjoyed driving but the pay was not up to par for the damn work that I was putting in. Not worth it at all. You will need more than two months of experience trust me. If you’re thinking about staying at swift for two months to get experience and then go to another company that’s not gonna work. I’m sure you’ve already seen that. They require at least six months of experience. So get the six months.
@iamdesmondcassell thank u brother,,I'm pretty sure it's gonna be hard for me because I'm not used to leaving away from my kids,, but yes I was planning to just use them atleast 2 months enough to learn how to operate the truck with no issues if I learn how to operate with no issues, now I can lie in the applications n say I have experience lol..one last question, what are the best loads to run..drop n jook or just Walmarts n let them unload you.

Are there inward facing cameras inside the cab?
Cool video Im thinking of driving for swift i thought they send new drivers with mentors where does he sleep or where is he at?
Mentors are with you during your 4 weeks of training. You both sleep in the same truck.
Hey how does training go do the trainer and trainee sleep in truck while training?
HeyJen. Great question. The answer is yes but know that all trainers aren’t the same.
Are there many women drivers?
Hi and thank you for watching my video. No, there are not many women who do this job but there are some. My mom is the one who got me into trucking.
Audio sucks can't listen to this
three weeks on and three days off sounds good to me
Thank you for watching but it’s ok. I would be good with every two weeks or something. I’m taking it as it comes at this point
