Some wonderful planes. My favourite has to be the Lockheed L1011 TriStar. My father was working in Hong Kong during the 70s when Cathay Pacific launched their Tristars, this plane also launched my love affair with aviation. I used to catch the bus to Kai Tak to plane spot and get autographs of pilots and pretty stewardesses! Now 50 years later I sit at home in crap health watching these wonderful videos, the memories so strong I can even remember the smell of the jet fuel at Kai Tak. Thank you so much for posting.
I love being taken back in time. I used to work for Continental 1985-1995 and those were some amazing times. I'd give up my home right now to be transported back in time and do it again.
Boston Logan was my home airport growing up. This is an AWESOME video of the Good Old Days! I don't remember Sabena or Delta Shuttle ever operating from Terminal B, but your video shows that's where they were in 1991. Terminal A sure was a hodge podge of carriers after Eastern shut down. You even have Braniff 3 in the Ultra Livery. Again ... GREAT video!
Wonderful! I was a kid in 1991 first time flying over the Atlantic. The A310s were so underrated and excellent. I like the Tristar L10-11 best of all with BA from Manchester to NY then a US Air DC-9-30 to Cleveland, with crew handing out free drinks and snacks on US Air. Of course, the service on the Atlantic in economy was second to none and pity and airline cannot revive the same standard today. I am sure there is a market for decent meals and free drinks again included in your fare
A few odd planes. N700ME McDonnell Douglas DC-9-14 Midwest Express Airlines , so small seems like a toy airplane N883DV British Aerospace 146-200 Delta Connection G-BNWI Boeing 767-336ER British Airways (named "City of Madrid", seen very early in the video too) A few L1011s. A few DC-10s / MD-11s N289F Lockheed L-188 Electra
Actually Aer Lingus kept its 747s until 1995,when they were replaced by Airbus A330s. Seeing how that this was shot in 1991 they still had a few more years before their well earned retirement.
The original Braniff went out of business in 1982, but there were two revival airlines with its name, one from 1983 that lasted until 1990, and a second one from 1991-1992.
Shame on the video editor who is guilty of committing the video atrocity of BBC (Blow-up, Blur, Crop) 4:3 aspect ratio films and video (or 4:3 films transferred to video) to fill the 16:9 frame. Doing "click to fill" may look OK on a computer screen (other than the unnaturally overly large images) but on a TV the loss of resolution results in a terrible blurry mush. You are taking standard definition video and degrading it to substandard definition video. You are also altering/censoring the carefully composed and framed 4:3 aspect ratio images by the historical cinematographers and photographers. Leave 4:3 alone!

So many cool aircraft. What an era for flying.
Pretty 747 in Air Lingus Livery There is one word for it Majestic , wish they still Around here.

That Delta B767 departure was so steep, the noise of those engines as well… impeccable video
that aer lingus 747 looks SICK
It looks like a KLM jet with the top painted green 😅
real
@@PeaShooter33Nope
Fr it does look sick
It’s awesome 😁👍
Amazing how high the cockpit is from the ground. We live in some fabulous times.

Very welcome! I actually worked for Sabena and yes we operated from B (handled by AA) for 10 years before moving to C (handled by DL)
When did Sabena start service to Logan ?

15:23 mark, my dad worked for Flying Tigers JFK & before that, Seaboard cargo. I have a ton of pictures of Dad me on the tarmac
Love the Eagle Saab
الماااضي الجميل .. 👌
ذكريات الطفولة 💔💔💔
Great channel! Thanks for the memories
Very welcome, thank you!
B747 the most beautyful plane ❤
Fantastic footage! Is there any chance you would also release classic footage from San Juan Airport (SJU)?
Glad you enjoyed it thank you. Will put a request in for SJU if we have that... I know we filmed it.
I never knew Aer Lingus had 747s in their fleet. Jts sweet looking
This is my home airport
(Edit: Wow it looked soo different back then)
Traffic has changed a bit in 3 decades 😄
@@justplanes yeah it has
It was much more interesting lol, now it’s all e-175s, a320s and a330s
hi neighbor, my home airport as well. so. shore here...
If thats '81. That is an early camcorder. Not bad footage i might say.
It's '91 actually about the time we started filming, late 90 early 91.

I think the BA 767 was from Manchester when they used to serve Boston for a little while back then
Braniff 727 😁👍
This feels ancient.
Wow 😮 did you used to film this yourself
I think it was a company thing with a big group that went to different airports
what was that baby plane at 16:50???
Midwest Express DC-9
That's a DC-9-10
No concorde? I thaught we where gona see atleast one.
The RR look so small for the BA 767. The GE or Pratts look far better.
When in 1991 was this filmed?
I think his dates are off. Braniff went out of business in 1982 with its color scheme and Aer lingus stopped flying the 747 in 1985.
Actually Aer Lingus kept its 747s until 1995,when they were replaced by Airbus A330s. Seeing how that this was shot in 1991 they still had a few more years before their well earned retirement.
2:41 is that an A300 or an A310?
Air Portugal A310
thx
CS-TEH, named Bartolomeu Dias, from TAP Air Portugal. The next plane after this one in the footage is also an A310, OO-SCC from the now defunct Sabena
How do you get this good videos do you go back in time, incase you do please planespott in lagos 1990s😂😂😂
vidéo DV 🥴
I believe this was filmed in 1981. Braniff went out of business with its color scheme in 1982. Aer lingus stopped 747 service in 1985.
It must be edited together from different years, the Continental MD80 is painted in a livery they only started using in 1994
1991 was the 1st year we filmed... nothing prior to that.
Are lingus operated 747 until 95
Good point, but the Northwest “bowling shoe” livery didn’t appear until 1989. Continental globe livery was 1991.
The original Braniff went out of business in 1982, but there were two revival airlines with its name, one from 1983 that lasted until 1990, and a second one from 1991-1992.
