Good ideas. I like the universal carrier. One essential mod for me personally is the bk universal straps there two straps that connect the top to the bottom parts of the climber. Makes everything really solid and feels safer then just having the one bungee cord connecting the top and bottom of the climber together.
Those Summit stands are extremely comfortable, great explanation Duane- You know I can't help but to mention I like the LW better!- LOL I do own a Summit Viper & modified it to be quiet, I will make a video on it, killed many deer over the years out of the Summit climbers.
Hey Andy! Haha yeah, I know you’re a lone wolf guy, but I don’t think they make climbers anymore (at least I haven’t seen them available in quite some time). Thanks for the feedback and for watching 👍🏻
@@mountainbuck LWCG, owned by Andre D'Aquisto just came brought back the Lone Wolf climber, lighter & flatter folding version (16 lbs.). He is the original designer. XOP also has a similar version it's come out with, for a lower price.
Dude, you’re killing it selling the Summit accessories, and I’m a little embarrassed to say I now have all you featured here with the exception of the footrest, which I’d probably buy for my mini if it wouldn’t make it weigh as much as my other two Vipers. I’ve used the deluxe front storage pack maybe a couple of seasons now and love it! Just got the Surround Seat, the universal packing straps, and evidently I accidentally added the ultimate hooks to my cart 😂. As long as the surround seat holds up I think it’ll be really nice, and I can say the same for the packing system. I usually use a molle kidney belt for sharing the load on my full size Vipers but you have to take the seat off. For me the Summit packing system is great if you can get the stand to ride high enough for you. I’m 5’9” and I attached the middle buckles one bar lower than they suggested. If you want to carry a Viper even higher, you can use the universal packing straps to pack the stand upside down, which works great with a Hazemore net seat or if you’re willing to wait to install the Summit seat at the tree.
Hey David! Thanks so much man haha! I'm the same height and I can see what you're saying. Nice job modifying that! I actually had a viewer ask me about the upside down carry method with the Universal Backpack System and I tried it out and posted a few photos of it on my community tab on TH-cam. It definitely is a nice alternative. Great minds must think alike haha. I also just checked out the Mini Viper and was really surprised to see how much room there was when climbing with it. I also like that it's the same exact with as the regular Viper, just a little less deep. Best of luck this season. 🦌
@@mountainbuck I don’t know if you do much big timber mobile hunting, but if you do, I suspect the mini Viper will become your go-to stand as it has been for me. So let us know if you try the new footrest on it and find it’s worth toting the extra 2 lbs. I’ve really thought about it since I can develop ankle pain in my right foot if kept it in a certain position for too long. It’s just had too many sprains, I suppose. And I hope you have a good season as well! Sure looking forward to fall!
@@mountainbuck note that I had to severely edit my initial comment above after finally trying the Summit packing system with a Viper with an actual Summit seat. (Last year I left both my Vipers on trees with the Hazemore seats and just used my mini for mobile hunting.) Now I just need to see if I’ll like it better than the Lone Wolf Custom Gear straps I use on my mini. Unlike a big molle kidney belt, the LWCG hip belt works great on a Viper without having to take the Summit seat off.
I love my summit climber. I had to replace the original carry straps that came with the stand and those were jus plain old straps I thought abt buying the universal strap but settled for the bungee straps instead and I'm happy with them. I also bought the surround seat to replace the original seat and I'm not disappointed. I'm waiting for my summit deluxe bag to come in, I was a little iffy as to how it would be and how much it would hold but now I'm sold and exited to get it in the mail.
Those backpack straps, does it look like you could turn the stand the other way and put them on? I had to put my straps on my stands upside down because I have shorter legs and wear high rubber boots hunting and my boot kept hanging up on the v tooth that grabs the tree. So I'd have to install it upside down if I purchased one.
Hey halfmooncreek! I think you probably could turn them upside down and carry like that. I’ve heard of guys doing that with the regular straps so I’m thinking it would work with this system. I’ll have to try it out sometime. Thanks for watching👍🏻
Hey thanks for watching. Yes, they all work with the Viper SD. I have a ton of climber videos out. Feel free to check them out and let me know if you have any questions. 🦌👍🏻
I love my summit climber BUT I have to adjust the seat so I am sitting higher up than normal, or tilt the top section of the stand down, so when I draw my bow my string does not hit the bar of the stand. Have you noticed this at all?
Hey Mark! I don’t typically hunt archery with a compound bow (crossbow here), but I can see how that may happen. You may want to consider the Summit Open Shot climber if you are only using for compound bow and not rifle/shotgun. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

@Mountain Buck thanks for looking at that for me. #shortpeopleproblem
Haha all good man. I’m only like 5’ 9” so I feel you.
@Mountain Buck ypu got me beat, I'm 5' 7" scotch Irish bloodline got me I guess 😄
Same deal here man, but St. Paddy’s day coming up soon! 🍀
I just picked one up, the velcro straps are too short to go around a summit viper front pad. Nice bag if it worked.
Are you talking about the Summit bag that mounts on the shooting rail?
Do all of these accessories work on the viper sd?
Hey thanks for watching. Yes, they all work with the Viper SD. I have a ton of climber videos out. Feel free to check them out and let me know if you have any questions. 🦌👍🏻

That is all nice, but you can't even get a replacement rail pad for the 180 Max SD. My email response was "it's time for a new stand" ridiculous!
Oh for real??? That’s crazy! I know they make some knock-off stuff I’ve seen on Amazon. Maybe you can rig something up
amzn.to/3XRgfDX
Try pipe insulation and zip-ties... If I'm not mistaken, that's all the rail pad on that stand is made of.
Great job buddy
Thanks Trophy Hunter! 👍🏻
The footrest is interesting. 2 lbs is a lot but it will likely allow you to stay on stand much longer.
Hey Tasaman! That's for sure. It definitely helps getting in different positions to ease the stiffness. Thanks for watching!
Definitely selling my academy special climber and getting a summit
Nice! You’re gonna love it 🦌👍🏻
I think those straps should come standard with every summit stand
Hey thanks for watching. Best of luck this season 🦌👍🏻

Turn the bag around on the front and then you don’t have to reach over the rail.
Good tip man! Thank you👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@mountainbuck yeah you’re welcome.
How to make a heavy stand heavier.
Lol
To bad there foot rest weighs over 3lbs id love it if they made an lighter model
It’s 2 lbs.
@mountainbuck that's what they say but it's closer to 3 and also over priced at 50 bucks
I previously said over 3 bc I have one an regret buying it bc of weight and price but after weighing it on a scale stand. Corrected that's it's 2.10
For as much as summit stands cost, you shouldn't have to do any mods.. They should come completely furnished..
