Our little ballerina, Ai, was so happy today. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen her dance like this. They need to have shaved ice every day if it makes them so happy and perky.
Never saw Ai act that way and especially for so long. Sometimes she does her little ballerina twirl but she's usually very quiet. Wonder if that watermelon was a little too ripe and got spiked lol... she was acting a little silly. Too cute. I love this family of gorillas, my favorite troop! They love to interact with human public as well. They're all intelligent, especially Shabani, and Ai as well.

It's been so incredibly hot out there, no doubt they stay mostly inside where it's cooler. The whole globe is hotter.... Crazy stuff for us and them.

@@TheFlashyWeasel I don't mean to be dramatic but it's scary with what's happening to our world with nature. I'm in Southern California and it's been super hot. We had a weird winter regarding the rain we got though! I was on cloud 9 with it since I'm in love with rain, plus we were having a drought before that. California weather has always been very moody but it feels like it's amplifying.

She’s certainly in a happy mood! I wonder if Ai is in heat, or maybe for gorillas it’s called “in season”, but I think the zoo has her on contraceptives so she can’t get pregnant by her half brother Kiyomasa, so I guess no new babies for this troop until they find Kiyomasa another home.
