Hey Kostov! It's not really a macro lens. 11 inches or 28 centimeters is as close as you can get. In this video many of the flowers were kind of large. I've tried to use it on insects with an extension tube but I had better success with my canon 18-135mm with an extension tube. If you're just going to be shooting flowers and manual focusing then the sigma will be ok but if you plan on shooting insects then you should get a dedicated macro lens. Thanks for the comment. I have heard about focusing issues with this lense on the canon 80D. Do you have AF problems, is it fixed with the firmware update as it is said, or was it ok?
Hey Jose, ironically I had a photo shoot yesterday and ran into a couple of issues with this lens. I was shooting in the woods and couldn't get the AF to work unless I used live view. I was also having issues with underexposure in AV (aperture priority) mode. It was very frustrating. Sigma released a firmware update so I've ordered the USB dock and I'll let you know if it addresses the issues. Thanks for the comment.

Jose I've updated the firmware and can confirm the focusing issue has been addressed. I tested both the view-finder and live-view focusing without issue. I'm going to do a video with images of before (firmware 1.02) and after (firmware 2.01) soon. I have 2 videos in post I need to edit first. Thank you for the input.

It's a good lens but it does have some random focusing issues with still photography. Great for video though.
