Hey, Love the vid. You're hilarious, love your style of reviewing. I'm looking at purchasing this lens and I just wondered if you could share a bit more about how you've used it over the past year. I'm looking to use it for group shots in event photography where it's usually dark and at weddings for some stylised shots. Would you recommend it for that?
I've mainly used the lense for videos but I have done a couple photoshoots where I used the lense. It is extremely sharp focus is great it will definitely work for what you want to use it for. In the downside it's pretty heavy so carrying it around all day might be a pain
I bought this lens used for my Canon T6. I had quite a bit of focusing issues. It was front focusing heavily. I had to buy the Sigma dock and a lens calibration tool to try to fix it myself. I spent around 5 hours trying to calibrate it. I think that's what I get for buying used. Maybe brand new is the way to go. Also, my camera model doesn't have micro adjustments, unlike the 80D.
The bottom line is, lenses need to be calibrated to each camera so you can get sharp images and accurate focusing. Simply assuming that your lenses and camera, or cameras, are accurate when autofocusing is a huge risk. I would bet that if you've never checked, chances are your lenses need to be adjusted.
I can answer your question now because it won't be enough to last a whole vide lol u can hear the AF in completely quiet environments but it's barely noticeable and if u add background music to your videos like I do its not even noticed lol
Crispy like bacon!!! So much better than the canon 50mm because of the versatility of the zoom!!! Can’t wait to see how the future videos will be looking!
If you like bokeh check out the Canon 50mm 1.8 stm ($139.99) the Canon 50mm 1.4 usm ($329) or the Canon 85mm 1.8 usm ($349). The 50mm 1.4 usm would give you the most bokeh possible (even more than the sigma) at $329. However something to keep in mind is that since you’re using an 80D, it has a 1.6x crop factor on the sensor (compared to a 35mm full frame sensor 1Dx, 5D, 6D etc) so your 18-35 sigma is behaving more like a 28mm-56mm on an 80D and a 50mm lens would look more like an 80mm on an 80D which means vlogging in selfie arm length position would be a bit tighter framing (less of your body and surroundings would be in the shot and just more of your head/ shoulders and face) but shots in your room could be adjusted to be exactly the same framing.
Nu Two Times awesome man! I have to warn you though. Once you go full frame it’s hard to go back. I started on crop sensor and upgraded to full frame and got addicted haha 🔥🔥😂😂 that 6D is really the way to go. And don’t be afraid to buy second hand for lenses and cameras. I get most of my canon L series lenses second hand on eBay and usually save hundreds off of new prices.
The bokeh effect is dope! However, when you raise the f stop up to see the background clearer, why does the quality of the image get noisier ? Is there a way to fix that?
The noise happens because raising the f-stop allows less light to come into the lense thus making the iso raise because it was on auto. If you'd like to avoid that put the iso on a set number and make sure you have plenty of light
Do you find the autofocus to be slower than you'd like? Looking to buy this for my 80d. Heard some mixed reviews about the autofocus. Thanks. Great video. Subbed.
It depends what you look for. I like low f stops so I'd go with this one but that 1 has a 2.8 Wich isn't bad at all and further reach its all preference good photos will come from either one
I just purchased the sigma 18-35 for my 80D and noticed some focus issues on my photos. Have you noticed any with yours? If so, have you calibrated it?
Remove the stupid UV filter. You bought a cracking lens and screw a flat crap glassboard in front of it? It introduces flares, reduces sharpness and contrast. Trust me. It protects against nothing. It will probably damage the lens worse if you give it a knock. Good purchase though. It is one wicked lens.
Good! Put on the lens hood instead... it protects the lens as well and shields it from light hitting the front element at a shallow angle, which would result in the light scattering and bouncing around in the front element, lowering the contrast and making the image milky as well. So yeah.. UV off (and in the garbage with it!), lens hood on! ;)
I also watched that video before my purchase and let me tell you right away im no photography expert but ive heard its a hit and miss with the purchase and for the most part people dont have focus issues. Ive taken over 400 photos with this lens since the purchase and done video and have had no focus issues at all. none.
What do you think of the lens? Do you know of any better ones?
Nu Two Times Check out its big brother: the Sigma 50-100mm F1.8. Great for portraits. Even greater bokeh effect due to higher focal lengths.
Can’t wait to see the great things you’ll shoot with your new lens. Looks awesome.

Damn 5 hours?! I'd be pissed but u eventually got it to work right

With the rode videomic pro + how much noise you can hear from the 18-35 C-AF ? Can you make a video about ? Thanks !
Good video bro !

Excellent video! Thank you very much.
Very nice video i like it 👏
You are using 80d so did you find any issue with this sigma 18-35mm lense using 80d ?
No issues have happened yet!

This is a great informative comment! I'm actually gonna upgrade to the 6D soon

Bro I can't wait to go full frame lol I've outgrown the crop sensors!
nice vid! as your title suggests, you used the sigma lens on the canon 80D, does it need an adaptor? tnx...
No adapter needed
thanks very much for your video bro, really enjoyed it!

NICE WORK MAN. I LIKED THIS LENS. THANKS
Did you shoot this video in Manual or auto ?
Manual only
How is the lens for shooting full body potraits?
Do you find the autofocus to be slower than you'd like? Looking to buy this for my 80d. Heard some mixed reviews about the autofocus. Thanks. Great video. Subbed.
The auto focus isn't blazing fast but there's absolutely nothing wrong with it seems on par with my 50mm 1.8
Very nice video, just made my decision and ordered this for my D7500, thanks for the review
Check out my newest video to see it more in action!
Using canon 50mm 1.8.... shud i upgrade to sigma 18-35? I am going to notice any real difference
Mostly shoot portrait and college functions
The main difference U'll notice is the weight and much more versatility on how u can take Ur photos when it comes to distance
@@NuTwoTimes so u mean no major diff in photos
Not a big enough difference that id suggest you spending another 800
Great video bro... Subscribed!
Thanks for watching! Glad to see u join the team look forward to seeing you on more videos
I just bought this lens for my 80d. Any updates on the lens?
Sold it but while i had it it never gave me any issues and was just what i needed
This lense or sigma 17-50mm for photography
It depends what you look for. I like low f stops so I'd go with this one but that 1 has a 2.8 Wich isn't bad at all and further reach its all preference good photos will come from either one

Haven't had any focus issues with mine sorry
How is the autofocus noise? I've a 80D Cannon
U can definitely hear it but not unbearable ive recorded videos with it and an external mic just fine
@@NuTwoTimes Thanks a lot. What lav mic would you recommend for all purpose?
I actually use rode mics on camera ive never used a lav mic
Thanks a lot
im getting that lens soon. you need a Variable ND filter for video and some photos with long exposure during the day.
I was thinking about getting a variable ND filter soon actually!!
thats how we will get the bokeh effect at 1,8 on video.
When I do get 1 I'll definitely do a video on it

Well damn! I'll take it off lol!!

Thanks! Will follow this advice
Sunrazor use an nd filter instead when outside.
What size is that UV Filter?
So do still have this lens and do you still like it
I actually sold this lens because i upgraded to a full frame camera but while i had it i loved it
@@NuTwoTimes thanks for getting back
No problem bro if i ever have any photography questions or anything hit me up on IG @shotbynu
@@NuTwoTimes so do you think full frame is better i have a crop canon 800d
@@mikelf9449 full frame is the way to go if you can afford it
How’s the autofocus? I heard it’s very inconsistent
