I cannot understand why the notes are not in order. so instead, the A’s in 3 different octaves are all right on top of each other, the B’s from three different octaves, etc?
Great video - Very Informative. Would be nice to hear the instrument without voiceover so I can hear what you're saying and hear the way the instrument is supposed to sound separately to know what it should sound like.
Very helpful as always, than you Dion. You mentioned multiple tonguing and was wondering whether you planning a video devoted to doodle tonguing in the future? Best regards, Massimo
Thanks for checking out the video! I did plan on making a video about multiple tonguing. I use legato double tonguing, I’ve never been able to doodle tongue.🥴It’s a good topic though I know there are a lot of doodle tonguing videos, there aren’t many legato double tonguing videos.🤔
Dang I wish I would’ve kept my lips in shape!! Like a fool I passed up a chance to play with a Canadian orchestra many years ago. I still have my trombone!! A Holton... “born” in the 1920’s😊
@@TheChopsShop my brain is 76 but still works n I can still read music!! Neighbors may not like it but my basement should muffle the sour notes😅 if that doesn’t work The trombone sound on my digital accordion kicks butt!! No slide action sound however!!
@@TheChopsShop I tried it once and got a lot of sputtering but I think I might just use the mouthpiece for a while to gain back lip control. My signature piece was St Louis blues years ago.
Thanks a lot! I’m in jazz and I really needed this because I am struggling on the chromatic scale.
This scale is essential to playing jazz.
I am trying out for all district this year and this really helped me thanks
I’m glad this information was helpful to you. I hope you do well on your audition!
You are amazing!! I’m still kicking myself for giving it up!! Didn’t know at the time about losing the “lip training”. I still have my 1920,s Holton.
Willing to sale?
great job cristal clear and easy to watch
Thanks for the feedback. I’m glad the videos are resonating with you!
Another really great vid! Thanks for putting them out there.
Thanks, I appreciate you checking out the content! I’ll keep the videos coming. 😉
Thanks, this really helped. Also for All-state band auditions what is the required speed for the chromatic scale.
Every state has a different set of requirements for the tempo of your scales. I suggest you check with your band director.

The horn follows a harmonic overtone series. The way the instrument responds is based on that factor.
Thanks. I was super confused on this, so this helped a lot

How long would you recommend I practice my chromatic scale each day just wondering.
It depends on your level but I would say 3-5 minutes if you’re just learning the scale. The time frame can decrease as you get more comfortable.
Ok

What brand you play?
I play a Shires trombone.

If your brain is still in shape your lips will follow. Pick up the horn, let the air flow and see what happens. 😉

What I saw when you first where playing was how you hold it
Proper alignment can go a long way! A relaxed slide hand is essential especially when playing this scale.
This instrument looks really tough to play!
It has its challenges just like other instruments. I think the reward is much higher though!😉
porque no esta en español :(
