    Thats good to know about the stainless flex joints in pre turbo fabs. I guess thats why all the baddass turbo manifolds use the accordion style flex joints.

    • @Thefabforums
      @Thefabforums  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea. I have seen some people just remove the inner layer of stainless weave. These actually have that accordion piece in between the inner and outer layers. Everything I have is solid mounted so I didn't really need the flex. Im sure I could use them on another project.

    Awesome project series... Question, why twin instead of single? If drag car, you can build boost prelaunch w/ both setups. Seems like twin would add cost and complexity to system vs single turb? Is there a sound reason you've chosen twin instead of dual? Thnx! ++++

    • @Thefabforums
      @Thefabforums  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +superbee1970 Thanks...thats a great question and I have actually told my self "self this would a little easier if you would have just build a single turbo setup." The main reasons I went twins is because in order to make the same power with a single it would have to be a big turbo and I wanted to keep the engine bay clean and spacious. I also wanted very limited turbo lag for street driving. I really plan to drive the car alot on the street. It may also be that I have already built one single turbo car and figured it was time to do twins :)

    You seems to be very professional on what you do.
    Have you ever done a costum turbo piping for a mini cooper S, cold and hot side?
    I been doing research on Internet for a while and I still not found anything yet.
    The was only one video on TH-cam from OBEX but they did not make it available to public to buy it.

    • @Thefabforums
      @Thefabforums  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. I have not made anything for the mini coopers. As long as there is room, all the kits are made about the same way.

    kinda wondering why you didnt cut the flexpart out before remounting it

      +The Fab Forums awesome i cant wait to see what kind of power it will make. also what are the specs on the turbos you got?

    • @Thefabforums
      @Thefabforums  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +laosonick They are both 70mm t4 turbos with .68 ar turbine. I made around 650hp with just one of these turbos that had a .96 ar turbine on a single turbo mustang coupe I built a few years back. The think this twin setup should do ok. Honestly if it will put down anywhere near 1000 to the tires I will be happy. Its just gonna be a hot rod I would like to enjoy on the street.

  • @FrederikBoye
    @FrederikBoye 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome videos man! Both your mustang projects looks awesome. I have a question! I'm no expert on modifying cars, and I'm genuinely curious: will the long runs of pipes for the turbos affect the response time since the exhaust has more room to compress and expand before reaching the turbos resulting in a delay, or will this have no effect/make no difference?

    • @Thefabforums
      @Thefabforums  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really enough tube length to make a difference. Lag is mainly caused by turbine housing size, so if I end up having some lag I could always change housings to fix the problem.

  • @shaunmartin9766
    @shaunmartin9766 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love your videos, man. What kind of filler rod were you using at the end to weld pipe to pipe - was it wire? Keep up the good work!

    • @Thefabforums
      @Thefabforums  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Shaun Martin It was some very small 308L...I was just trying to tack it so I could remove the pipes for final weld.

    2: Where do you get the music that won't get copy infringed?

    • @Thefabforums
      @Thefabforums  9 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Lol. You would be amazed at how little I have in my projects. Basically just a little buying and selling projects, selling carbon fiber kits, and TH-cam revenues support everything I build on the channel.
      TH-cam has an audio library that has copyright free music. I have purchased copyright free stuff from places like istockaudio, and I recently found a TH-cam channel that specializes in copyright free music called nocopyrightsounds.

    • @Thefabforums

  • @jacobwoolley2114

    im a bit late on this but hard mounting the turbo hot side to the chassis rail and not having that flex join your risking cracking the hot side piping somewhere when the motor torques and flexs the motor mounts, if ya know what im on about? or did ya plan something for that?

    • @Thefabforums
      @Thefabforums  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      No motor mounts...everything is solid mounted.

    • @jacobwoolley2114
      @jacobwoolley2114 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah OK lots of stress on stuff when hard mounting and bloody noisey is it going to be street and strip or pure strip...?

    • @Thefabforums
      @Thefabforums  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will be street strip. I have solid mounted everything for years...wont be more noisy, just may add some vibration. With this kind of power solid is the only way to go.
