Usually a jury can see through some minor inconsistencies in labeling and testimony, but Dennis Murphy, and the prosecutor's poor handling of him, creates some issues for me. Expecting to see the defense hammer this home on closing. If this 40 year cold case stays cold after the jury decides (i.e., not guilty), it will likely point back to this rough spot in the prosecution. And what's with the defense approaching the witness, and showing him various papers from a distance for the witness to answer to, without the prosecution or the judge intervening.
Oh boy....that didn't seem to go so well...Cross contamination can take place if there were to be more than one person's DNA on one item and not the other and they were in the same bag touching each other,right?
I think so but I'm no expert. This murder took place years before DNA started to be used in crime investigations; perhaps the investigating officers were unaware of the problems they were creating. If you're interested the first murder to be solved using DNA was in England in the 1980s. Joseph Wambaugh wrote a book about it called "The Blooding".
Very concerned that the prosecution can prove the defendant as guilty based on DNA on a straw which was based on a DNA database, considering how the evidence and crime scene items were handled for 40 years. Not good. Not good at all.
OMG this trial is the WORST ..Even Though a life was wasted & a beautiful one at that ..This Young Woman was a promising person ..But it's a poor excuse for prosiquting lawyers to be sor lame .this.is.SAD...
I am trying to understand what exactly are you expecting from a trial for a crime that had been commited and investigated 40 years ago with the technology and investigative tools available at that time.
Nothing wrong with calling another person beautiful. They can be beautiful in heart, beautiful in behavior as well as beautiful in physicality. It’s getting ridiculous shaming people every time they make a personal observation.
