  • Did a video review of my Mazda Bongo Friendee Auto Free Top Camping van that I imported from Japan. I have had it for 2 years and never did a video review. I am selling it because I got a Honda Stepwagon camping van and just have no room.
It is a turbo 4wd diesel pop top van that is perfect for both daily and camping use. I can sleep 4 and hold 8. The turbo makes it perfect for climbing the Colorado mountains. I think is also has an LSD in the back as it does great in the snow and the 4wd versions of the Bongo were known to have them. I am selling it for $13,990 which is what I have into it.

Great tour, new to the jdm van world but am loving watching these videos and learning more. I have a question about the importing process. Was it hard to get it registered in Colorado? I noticed Washington plates on it. I ask because I'm looking to import a Bongo but live in California and the more I find out, the harder it is to reg here. Colorado may be an option since I have family there.
    Thank you!

Jaw dropped at the curtain buttons. If I didn’t have my 88 LiteAce, I would be on my way to you right now with a check!!

That's one thing I really miss on the bongo compared to the stepwagon.i are the curtains as they're so easy to use

Fantastic vans! The one thing that I'd encourage you, or a buyer, to do would be to fit a coolant alarm to warn of loss of coolant or else a separate engine temperature gauge as the standard Mazda one is so slow to react to engine temp changes and the cylinder head on those 2.5TDs doesn't like being overheated. Also be careful of air locks when changing the coolant! Hope this lovely can goes on to provide many more miles of smiles!

Thanks, yes I actually sold it and they're putting in the Bongo bleed kit. I actually had it but never installed it but the person who bought it is more mechanically inclined than I am and will be installing the bleed kit right away
