- Today we enter the Multiverse of Madness and look at a universe where All Stars never switched to the Lip Sync Assassin formula. What if RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 5 and All Stars 6 had a top 2 format? The fandom has argued over this topic time and time again, and I'm here to offer some insight.
Fans have cried that queens like Alexis Mateo, Jujubee, Trinity K Bonet, and Kylie Sonique love were robbed of multiple wins across their all stars season by the season only having one winner per challenge. Were the fans right? And how does this affect the season as a whole?
I'll break each season down episode by episode as we look to answer the age old question: what if?

I don't think there's any way they would have allowed Mayhem to win the lipsync if she had Shea's lipstick, regardless of how much Mayhem demolished Blair in the lipsync.

And for Jimbo, it was bad either way as both Jimbo and Juju were fan favorites. In this scenario, Shea is against Mariah and India, who production would have no problem letting go of to save Shea.
The real loss in here is that we wouldn't have the Laganja entrance and lipsync

I dont think mayhem would have won. She voted for herself so. I think the crown would have between Juju and Shea. And in my Opinion Juju did better then Shea in the final Lip Sync. Shea just stood in one space and her lip sync was really wierd to look at.

Theory: if Shea was Manila'd, they would do a revenge of the queens episode and bring Shea back and push her to the win to (1) make fans happy and (2) avenge Manila as "the frontrunner who was eliminated too early but came back and slayed"
They couldn’t do that though. They had a scheduled number of episodes and episodes planned for months before filming. They can’t just throw in another challenge/episode whenever they please

I agree about season 10, but I about this vid, he has a point lol. Of course, I know the producers would give the win to Blair or even not put Shea in the bottom at all so they could save her, but based on how the season went, Mayhem and Blair winning the hotel challenge it's what makes most sense. Mayhem voted for Shea and she would CRUSH Blair in a Lizzo lip sync, he can't predict what riggory the producers would've done to save Shea. And give Juju the win here would be the most weird thing ever considering Blair and Mayhem were a duo and would fit the top 2 perfectly, specially when they were told they had the best commercial.
@@JoaoGabriel-tx7bm he doesn't really have a point tho. the whole "lets get shae out" was the safe queens banning together to take over the group vote in the off chance the lip sync assassin won the lip sync. I do not think mayhem or Alexis would have taken the same approach if the format was the top 2 as it puts a big target on their back rather than the target being distributed throughout a group of queens
@@m1k369 but they both revealed they voted for Shea to the whole group in the episode after, they putted a target on their back anyway, so your argument doesn't apply here. If they had hidden their vote and lied, that shows they wouldn't make that choice if they were top 2 (because either way you gotta show your vote, winning or losing the lip sync, no one is gonna pull a Bebe). It makes more sense to me that Mayhem would still choose Shea, specially now she has a real chance to eliminate her. If she took that risk when she knew the group was probably gonna keep shea, then why wouldn't she take that risk when she has more chance now to eliminate her (all she gotta do is beat Blair in a lip sync to a Lizzo song, which we all know she can do). It makes more sense the production would do something to change Shea's fate (like change the song last minute), but if Mayhem is in the top 2, I dont see why she wouldnt pick shea.
Juju would have had MANY more wins.
All stars really needs to go back to a top 2 format. It is so much more satisfying to see All Stars get the credit they deserve
I like this a lot more than what played out (other than Shea Coulee being eliminated so early) because it gives queen like Kylie, Juju and Trinity more wins that they deserved in the first place. Kylie and Juju only having one win on their AS season still doesn’t sit right with me.
There is no way that Mayhem had made it to the ball after sending home Shea. The producers would be so pressed about it that they could even save Mariah during SheMZ
On the contrary I think they'd be heavily interested in Mayhem after sending home the strongest competition. I think they would of actually pushed her more because of the storyline tbh

Seeing as how Naomi made it all the way to the end after Manila’s elimination, I think Mayhem would be fine.
@@N1ghtGlider it's not the same situation, there was no way to save Manila, both Naomi and Monet chose her lipstick, besides, Latrice was already eliminated once, so she was with a feet at the door at that moment.
Also, Naomi did that close to the finale, not at the start like this.
Trinity, rajah and Kylie now getting the track record they deserve fits right with my fantasy. the triple crowning we never got 😔

That would be amazing. But I lived for Ginger in this season. I think Rupaul would do a double win with Kylie and Ginger or Kylie and Rajah.
I would give the Fix it second top two spot to Pandora, I think she deserved it and it'd be a great storyline for her getting her first win when she was team captain
And the RuMerican Horror Story. Everyone knows Kylie did NOT deserve that particular win

You should make a video on "what if the early seasons didn't offer immunity to challenge winners"!! I sometimes wonder how differently some of the elminations would have played out, since we often heard "it's a good thing so-and-so has immunity this week, or she'd definitely be in the bottom"
Season 6 was so hard. Half the cast was worthy. I wanted Scarlett to stay a little longer. I have to admit Kylie is the body. I'll say again I wish I had as much confidence in anything as she did in the top she lip synced in. 😂
I feel like the best solution is to have the top 2 format be orchestrated midway through the season. This way the stakes are higher, the pool of available lip sync assasins can be conserved, and more wins can be added to the remaining queens' resumes at the end of the show.

ooh that would actually be super interesting, because early on the dynamic would be like pleasing the group and then half way in you can see alliances start breaking or truly being tested and the pressure of being in not being in the top means youre in the bottom would make for a potential gaggy moment.
Wouldn’t the opposite make more sense? When there are more queens in the game 2 win each episode but as you get close to the end it gets more competitive and there’s only one winner for each challenge.

I personally would have liked Alexis to win her lip sync against Jujubee, because then we could still get our “You are a liar, and that’s why Derrick don’t like you” moment as she pulls out the lipstick.

If this was real there is no way mayhem would’ve won episode 3, they definitely would’ve had it be juju and Blair it maybe even Alexis and juju, which means Shea stays and probably definitely wins the season

I remember after AS5 it was such a gag that someone won who wasn’t in the “best team”. So why not repeat a semi-viral moment and give the win to one queen despite it being a team challenge and her team not being the best?
TLDR: I think if there was a top 2 the judging would be normal. Those queens only won because there was only one spot for a winner and they wanted a gaggy moment to get clicks and mentions on social media.

It still baffles me how Blair lasted as long as she did. I’m not gonna lie I don’t remember her doing anything other than singing very pitchy in the talent show and doing Ellen for snatch game. Could not tell you anything else she did on her season. She just kinda coasted under the radar until they realized it was top 4

Tbh I think they give Kylie that final 5 lip sync win to save Ra’jah. If the season runs as it had in that scenario, I think they’d be willing to cut Ginger since she wasn’t performing as well as Ra’jah and would’ve rather have the three makor powerhouses of the season in the finale, plus they saw Kylie as a clear frontrunner and would’ve given her this lip sync to fully establish her as the one to beat over Eureka who is kind of on borrowed time at that point since she was already eliminated and didn’t really stand a chance to win.
You really love mayhem this is your second what if scenario that you predicted her to do 10 times better than she does….she was in the bottom for the improv challenge on the actually season which shows as much potential as you think she has she doesn’t perform well on drag race and you put her high. Productions not going to have Shea.go home. pink table top Ginger was on a different team and she won in real life you let her win in your scenario but in this scenario you didn’t let juju win 🤔

I don’t like the format of only 1 win and the queens vote. Honestly, having lip sync assassins is so …… idk the word cause it feels good to see some good performances but also I am very saddened by the fact that lots of great drags lost challenge wins (TKB, Alexis, etc). Btw, it’s much much better to manipulate the results with this formats lol

A big storyline in Season 6 was how close Eureka and Trinity were. And Eureka Still voted Trinity out because she had the most bottoms. So I think I’m this scenario, Eureka would still vote out Ginger for having by far the worst track record.

I still kinda think that Ginger should have won the acting challenge. She was able to get laughs in a role she didn’t want and I thought she was funnier than Jan.
Ginger won the Pink Table talk because she moderated Jan, who was giving way too much and was of the rails, and had to reign her in, and had to keep things going when Pandora gave nothing. The Panels challenge rewards moderators who have to work more.
They probably didn't give critiques so that they wouldn't have to say that and direct a bit of frustration to Ginger. During seasons where there is no villain they tend to create " villains" by making them seem favored
Okay so in reality, Eureka did vote Trinity out. So isn’t that reason enough to put Trinity’s name on Eureka’s lipstick? Considering also Rajah had less bottoms than Trinity. Rajah going home right before top 4 with that reasoning makes 0 sense to me.

So I think the Show Up Queen elimination would have panned out differently as Pandora had never won and in this format Jan won twice. The track record was a huge part of how the queens judged that season. Just food for thought.

I don’t think they’d pass up giving a big girl the win for the ball for the very first time and Eureka would win the ball. She deserved it anyway. Kylie’s looks were cohesive, but not exactly that good. Scarlett should’ve been in the top instead of her anyway. Also, Ra’Jah would devour Kylie to Janet just like she did Brooke despite editing.
