Right place and definitely right time. For the past 6 months I have been taking pictures of people at the sea front or quaysides at a variety of locations doing their thing here in North Devon. It is interesting as I was walking back home without taking a single shot when I saw a guy sitting on a on a footpath with his back against a wall and puffing on a cigarette while looking at his two fishing rods propped up against the riverside fence a couple of feet in front of him. I loved it and just stopped and starred. The cigarette smoke was swirling around crossing the path and out to the river passing through his rods. I took my little Sony RX100 out but again did not take the picture. I just felt it was too intrusive. I'm not sure he was aware I was so glued to what he was doing (which was nothing to be fair). This morning I I was thinking of this moment I missed out on again when I came across this video. I could never have taken that Southend shot, there is something that stops me. Might be a lack of confidence but I could kick myself sometimes.
I think I agree with Stefan Ionut, Nearly everything in the shot, apart from the lady is a distraction. I would have asked the lady if she would move back a bit where there may be less things (distractions), get her to look to the right into the distance. I would get down lower to get the horizon below the hood of her coat. I do enjoy your videos, they are very informative. I'm sorry I just don't like this one part!
The decisive moment. Not before, not after. If we miss, then it is missed. Great.
👍
Great photo. Her arm is in the same angle as the play thing in the background too, lots of lines going on. Nice work!
Thanks Jan, glad you like it :)

Hi Peter, I would urge you to watch the video properly before you comment, thanks.
