    Soooo crazy you posted this video haha. I've been searching the web on how to do this. So far, this video makes more sense to me. I didn't wanna make the mistake of using any kind of abrasives or polish that stains the plastic. Thx Boone!

    Thanks Boone. I may be a HO guy who used AFX track to build my raceway, but I’m sure those products will be beneficial to the life of my track. Always learning from you brotha. 😎🤙

      Thanks bud, yes they can be used on HO as well. It’s just a bit different when it comes to the rail. I use a piece of very fine sandpaper to lightly kiss the exposed area .

    Awesome video Boone, I am a slot head my self . I am a huge collector and I have Carrera track but also have the original 1/ 32 scale track from AURORA. Witch needs to be polished. I use the Flitz and actually sell the product. My dad started the company 45 years ago. Thanks so much for your business. Keep it in the slot my friend.

    An additional tip that is helpful is by putting a little bit of three-in-one oil like just a drop or even WD-40 oh, just a drop on the brushes of a car you can then run the car around the track and that will also help get even protection on the rails. I've been doing that for decades and it works really really well

      Thanks Andy, yes the cars ran pretty good , I found out I need to make a few adjustments on the track surface since it’s not laying down quite right in some areas. But that’s a minimal adjustment. Just happy it’s running 😂

    Instead of 3in1 oil suggest using fish oil which prevents rust as it is usually sprayed in real vehicle sills

    I have had slot cars since I was 6 Eldon set 6 volt then thunder jets .I used to use Hight Karate after shave that I got for Christmas to clean my track.I be thinking about building a Zamboney type car to clean the track like the ones they make for model railroads .Now I have SCX I love it .Good information. Do one on how repair the guns or the best ones you can get.

    gday boone great info mate and works great ...the deal with me though is 400 plus pieces of track lol i got to find a solution so that i can put a whole stack a track in a bath solution at one time and let some sorta chemical process take place to renew the rails ... i dont fancy rubbing 400 pieces of track with me poor old thumb lol ...if i find a work around ill let ya know .... hey just thought of something real quick ...set up a dedicated slow moving chassis that i can put on the rack with self filling chemical that can be left to slowly go around and around (slower speed so dont fall off) and just let it run for a day or so with a self wetting fibrous agent under the car touching the rails ..i like that better than rubbing 400 plus pieces of track ... im onto it

      😂, 400 plus pieces is a lot … makes my hands cramp just thinking about it 😂… I think your car idea is a winner… thanks buddy

    Really enjoyed these bits one only learns from experience. Have you considered doing a vid on power taps? (You answered that THX) I recently picked up a few control units I'm going to play with (Minus the Power source) to use for taps. Another channel recommended a power tap every 8 sections of track and or before a digital section.

    • @BoonesSlotCarGarage
      @BoonesSlotCarGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Drew , yep power taps are next. I like to put power taps just before my digital pieces of track and I like to run them every 10 to 15 feet of track .

    I bought a used track and many of the connectors metal contact between the track. Around ten of them are falling apart. Looking at it, It looks like they are insertable then small crimp to keep it in place. I need to know what it is called so I can find then order them. I don't want to make them if I can just order them.

    • @BoonesSlotCarGarage
      @BoonesSlotCarGarage  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure it’s possible to order just the pins. If not then square brass tube could work. If your using Scalextric.

    Thank you Boone!! I'm looking for another reason of a problem on my track. I use a digital Lange Changer (SSD), but often the flipper changes lanes without pressing the trigger. Do you have any idea what that could be? Greeting from Germany, Rolf

    • @BoonesSlotCarGarage
      @BoonesSlotCarGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Rolf , a lot of times the digital flippers will do this do to a drop in electric voltage in your track. And sometimes it just the slot car ghost playing with your head 😂.. but most the time it’s the voltage. My next video I’m going to be putting up on my TH-cam channel is about electrical jumpers for the track. That might be the answer for your issue.

    How do you clean the track?

  • @eduardomalcom2228
    @eduardomalcom2228 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hello Boone's instead of Lucas Slick, could I use ArmorAll ?

    • @BoonesSlotCarGarage
      @BoonesSlotCarGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn’t use that. It’s full of silicone. And it will dry out the plastic track over time. Plus it will make the surface like driving on ice . Your cars will not have any traction

    • @BoonesSlotCarGarage
      @BoonesSlotCarGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A non silicone cleaner would be best. Even glass cleaner would work

      one more query, buy 2 Carrera go Ferrari 1:43, if the one the two, the transformer works correctly ?

    • @BoonesSlotCarGarage
      @BoonesSlotCarGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@eduardomalcom2228 no problem buddy. Silicone is nasty stuff for a track. There are other products on the market that will refresh the color of the plastic that are water based. If you stop by an automotive supply store, they should have a good assortment of different products that will work.
