- So this started from stumbling onto some of the amazing MRE review / unboxing videos on youtube. I wanted to think of a way to incorporate this into a video, that wasn't just me roleplaying as a soldier. This was the result hahah. It could have been 3 seperate videos...but you folks have been very patient with my lack of free time just now, so I decided to deliver it all in a oner :D
I wasn't particularly happy with my approach to the MRE, I didn't feel like I did it justice. However as you know, I do all my videos un-scripted and just make it up as I go along :D The next one will include everything and be a little more detailed.

ASMR is essentially a made up acronym (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response ) used to describe that tingly / buzzing feeling you may have experienced in your head or running down your spine. The sensation can be triggered by personal attention, tutorials, sounds etc. If you are discovering "ASMR" videos for the first time, their primary purpose is just to relax and almost always to send the listener to sleep.

I don't usually comment on youtube videos but I have to make an exception for you Matt. For the past 3 months I have been studying and training to become an Airline Captain. A few weeks ago I was able to accomplish that dream thanks to you. Listening to your videos allows me to relax and concentrate when I'm studying that I have never experienced before. My mind is so much clearer when I listen to your roleplays. There is something about your mannerisms, diction, and inflection that is so enjoyable. Once again thank you so much for helping me accomplish such an important goal in my life!
Unfortunately I am in my hotel and typing on my phone so please excuse the length of my reply! I just wanted to say what an enormous milestone this is and how incredibly proud you should be of yourself! Workibg towards something like that takes enormous dedication and now allll the hard work is done! I am honestly so humbled to have been part of something as tough as a captains examination! Huge congratulations again and thank you so much for taking the time to share it with me and the other amazing viewers :D
Hey, first of all a massive well done! I’m going to be starting airline pilot training later this year at an Academy. Just thought I’d ask where you did your training and was it modular or integrated ATPL course. I can’t wait to begin mine even though I know the exams are going to be difficult.
Thank you! I did my training at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in the United States. It was an airline pilot specialty prior to the new ATP requirements. Now they have an integrated ATP course in their curriculum. I hope you do well.

I'll eagerly wait this report. Be mindful and conservative in your approach though , their sentry turrets detect and can target even the fastest drone!

hey man, i thought that a really good idea for an ASMR video would be to be an airport passport checker and the person that is listening should have a problem with the passport and then you could help them out which would give people a lot of great tingles, hopefully this is a good suggestion man, loving the vids keep it up :)

Idea for another MRE video -- we've gotten away and are making camp for the night. We could eat together and you could reassure me that tomorrow we will make it to safety.
Also just so you know, the mist from a spray bottle landing on an umbrella makes the most wonderful sound.
Well, I think we all now know what Matt's passion seems to be! (Currency and coin collecting!) I feel like I travelled around the world looking at all those coins, and I never left my room in PA, USA!

My LORD, man. An hour and a half?! Your dedication constantly astounds me, and you worked SO MUCH stuff into this video. I like that the gloves weren’t latex or nitrile, but rather something softer that made different noises. This may be a weird thing to say, but pounds sound completely different from American dollars, so that was cool.
For some reason, I was reminded of the movie Snowpiercer, what with all the slavery and class war and such. I will mess someone up with that fruit knife, don’t even try me. 😉
As a completely irrelevant aside, that shirt is a great color on you!
Future video suggestion: maybe a train conductor video, where you explain the different fancy amenities and go through the boarding documents and such?

This is amazing and intricate and wonderful. I appreciate the effort you put into it, Matt. The way and tone with which you present things, I think you should do some sort of historian or museum curator role play? Or maybe a quiet auctioneer role play? Something along those lines really fits the tone from this video.

Hey Matt! I don't know how you feel about requests, but I would give anything to see another video in the same vein as the Potion Brewing Roleplay. It would be cool to do it as either a follow-up to the first (ie The Merchant - The Spice Route & The Story Of Emma) or as simply another roleplay in that setting. Either way, I really like your content. Keep it up

I know I’m super late, but I just find it super amusing that you were going on about how expensive the MREs are on the basis of supply and demand, and then literally no more than 10 seconds later you’re like yeah so we’re just gonna go ahead and eat one of those for my lunch. What happened to them being expensive? Are you simply so rich that you have no problem literally eating the cost? Why do I have to think so hard about it when I know it wasn’t actually that expensive? These are questions we will never know the answers to.
They are ridiculously expensive but the instructional and tasting session, comes inclusive of the price :D Also..it's a very amateur asmr video that I made without any sort of script, don't think too hard.
