PH port-handling firm ICTSI optimistic about Iloilo port proposal | Market Edge

- In this interview with #MarketEdge, Philippine port-handling giant, International Container Terminal Services Incorporated or ICTSI remains optimistic that its offer to develop and operate the port of Iloilo will come through, despite some hiccups. ICTSI global corporate head, Christian Gonzalez says it is still very likely that the company will be awarded original proponent status for the project.

Saka Iloilo gateway yan sa other InterContainer Ports..sa Singapore Vietnam Malaysia dyan malalaki Container Ports going to Europe.congested na din kasi ung sa MICT sa Delpan..saka naisip na din nila na pag na matutuloy ung bridge linking Panay Guimaras Negros..mas mabilis na din yan pa Cebu ar Mindanao..kesa manggaling pa Manila..

It does make sense because Iloilo is the heart of the Philippines bigger than Hongkong and easy access to north, south, east, west of Asia. There's a working railroads there before for transport and sugar plantation kya dumami ang mga millionaires dyan in the old days.

Dapat mag invite ng maraming investors ang LGU Iloilo may international airport at may deep sea port at maraming university graduates na magagaling at maraming supply ng seafoods at agricultural products kasi WALANG EXPORT PROCESSING ZONE or walang malaking INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX... gawa ng Iloilo Megaport kasi accessible ang Iloilo sa Singapore at sa Japan...etc. Yung pinsan ko diyan sa iloilo city market nagtratrabaho kumusta na lang...
Iloilo just recently (this August I think) converted an area into a mixed-use industrial zone near the coastal road. We'll just have to wait for the investors to flock in. Let's keep an eye for Iloilo in the coming years.
Also, San Miguel Corporation told the press earlier during the groundbreaking of their billion-peso brewery plant that they are interested in funding the Iloilo-Guimaras Mega-Bridge Project.

The Goverment should build now an international container port in Infanta Quezon facing the Pacific Ocean. Now that China is trying to block all the commercial ships coming from the West Philippine Sea to dock to our International ports facing the West Philippine Sea to unload trade goods. The port of Infanta and Real Quezon is just 3 hrs away east of Metro Manila and can received ships coming from the Pacific Ocean without threat of being block by another country.
Remember Bangladesh? Remember Sri Lanka? Remember Zambia? Chinese built and Operated by the Chinese. As long as the contractors are Filipinos that would be alright but if the company is partly owned by the Chinese gives us a hard look at the Contract. That's a positive development.

Even though the project has been delayed, I still have HOPE that this will be pursued. I do have to agree that Rome was not built in a day, but I understand the impatience of the Ilonggos (Ilonggo din ako). Unlike our Senator, the BBB is NOT a failure because I have seen tangible results. The moment they actually start construction sometime around 2021, then I will be more than appreciated.
